Chinese street food and Chinese food in China is something so special to me. Eating Rabbit Head in Sichuan is a MUST do thing if you visit Chengdu, China. I also got to enjoy it with a local Chinese girl, a good friend of mine, one who also loves to eat, a wonderful experience!
Please like: facebook.com/foodrangin
The first thing we had to eat was this Chinese restaurant's specialty rabbit head, a Chinese favourite, covered in a spicy, numbing, Sichuan peppercorn flavour that was quite nice. This place was found just behind Wenshuyuan (文殊院) temple in Chengdu, near Chengdu's downtown Core.
Rabbit is not a true Chinese street food, but can be found on the street. We were lucky enough to try it right from the massive bowl on the street, as the chef had no problem with us eating it there. The chef at this Sichuan restaurant was super fun and happy. Actually, he gave the meal to us for free because we shot a video there, but I've added the proper prices in for your reference. I loved the true authentic Sichuan chopped cold rabbit salad. It was prepared with a whole roast rabbit, covered it in Sichuan chilies and peppercorns, peanuts, and cilantro. It was delicious, although a little dry.
Sichuan is famous for eating rabbit. Not all of the provinces in China eat rabbit. You can eat so many different types of rabbit dishes here, and to me, a good introduction into rabbit eating would be to chomp on a rabbit head and order up the dishes we tasted here. Yes, it can be a little nerve-wracking, but it's something that you should try. In all honesty, I didn't enjoy the head that much, as there isn't much meat, but for the fun factor alone combined with the spicy numbing flavour makes it worth trying. After eating the rabbit for 20 minutes or so, we both realized that it was much spicier than the chef had told us, and that our mouths were numbing and burning from the heat, but still enjoyable.
As my friend points out in the video, the numbing and spicy flavour is a true characteristic flavour of Sichuan. Eating rabbit head is something that many locals enjoy, soaked in Beautiful flavour (美味).

China bullet train full speed noodle tour! This is my video blog of my experience riding the Chinese high speed rail from Chengdu to Wuhan solely to eat a bowl of noodles. In China, high speed rail/ the China bullet train has lines from all major cities, including Shanghai, Beijing, Guangzhou, Xi'an, and most others.
►The BEST VPNs For China:
I made the trip during the Chinese national holiday Golden week to Wuhan because I've had numerous comments on my videos lately recommending me to go to Wuhan to try the reganmian 热干面 hot dry noodles. So I purchased my train tickets online, and made my way to the Chengdu east railway station anticipating the great noodles that lay ahead!
The max speed for the Chinese Bullet Train/Chinese high speed rail is around 300 km/hour, but they have gone faster under test conditions.
Once I made it to the Wuhan train station, I asked the taxi driver where to eat a good bowl of hot dry noodles, and we explored together and eventually found one!
This is not a spicy ramen noodle challenge video, this is a real noodle travel video, where the noodles are spicy and legit. I hope you enjoy it! Please follow my instagram account for photos of these adventures!

Chinese Food Sichuan - Chinese Street Food - Street Food China
Chinese food gets more interesting the deeper you go. I set off for Chinese street food and cuisine in deep southern Sichuan province by bicycle. I rode my bike down deep into Southern China's lush and mountainous liangshan region, in search of delicious Chinese street food and Chinese food. The Chinese food really was different in this region. The liangshan region is home to Chinese Yi ethnic minority, who have their own cuisine. It was very rural and in some areas also very poor, so I had difficulty finding the yi cuisine at first. Later in the second half of the video, I found a Yi restaurant and had a Chinese food feast! The little village I visited was called Butuo, about 120 km from Xichang.

Chinese Food: Eating Sichuan Hot Pot in Chengdu With A Local Girl!

TRUE CHINESE FOOD! Eating Hot Pot in Sichuan is a MUST do thing if you visit. I also got to enjoy it with a local Chinese girl, one who also loves to eat, a wonderful experience!
Please like: facebook.com/foodrangin
The first thing we had to eat, although not technically Sichuan food, was a Chinese pastry, called huoshao, filled with a juicy, meaty, wonderful filling that was served fresh from the oven. We were super lucky to get the first ones right out of the oven after lining up for around 20 minutes. This place was found just behind Chunxi lu (Chunxi road) in Chengdu's downtown Core.
After feasting on that beautiful snack, we had to go for the real meal, the true authentic Sichuan food, Hot Pot. This is the first time I have showcased Sichuan Hot Pot in my videos. I was waiting for the right time to showcase it, and after searching for a good location and also a good partner to eat it with me (hot pot is not a one person meal), I was set to film!
Sichuan Hot Pot is basically a huge wok filled with hot chili oil and copious amounts of Sichuan chili peppers and Sichuan numbing peppers. You place raw ingredients like raw sliced beef and raw lotus root into this boiling chili oil, and then when it's ready to eat, they take on the flavour of the substance they are boiled in. It gets spicier over time. After 40 minutes of eating hot pot, you notice that it is much much spicier than it was when you first started eating.
As my friend points out in the video, eating hotpot at night with friends is the true lifestyle of Chengdu people. Eating hot pot is what you do when you want to go out with friends and relax after work and enjoy some beautiful food (美食). They literally do call it beautiful food here, that's the lifestyle!

Chinese Street Food is not always served from street vendors, sometimes, it's found in family run shops in ancient alleyways that have been there for generations. Kind of like take out Chinese street food. Pleas like: facebook.com/foodrangin
This duck is commonly found on the street, hanging on long bamboo poles throughout Sichuan. I was super lucky to be able to try it from a family run joint that has been making this duck for generations! The local snacks that I tried afterwards were just mind blowing, especially the cold chicken sliver noodles.
I had to leave Chengdu to find this local duck, in Pengzhou, where street food is plenty and ducks like this can be found all throughout the city, whether in family run shops like this, or hanging over the sidewalk ready to be served.
Thank you so much for watching my food and travel videos!

First, I visited this local dan dan noodle shop near the outskirts of Chengdu, Sichuan, China, and found the Chinese street food noodle experience and the atmosphere to be mind blowing and exciting! It is always an experience visiting Chinese street food areas! So much food and Sichuan ingredients, so many flavours to try! I visited this busy Chinese restaurant on a Saturday early afternoon at around 11:30 am with already two bowls of noodles in my stomach and looking for more. My goal was to taste as much food and chat with as many locals as possible, that's the true China experience. It was so busy, with so many people, there were so many different foods to eat and look at, tons of vegetable dishes, meat dishes, everything you could want really.
However, if you go to the place I did, DO NOT order the intestine dish. It was disgusting.
Instead of trying hot pot in Chengdu or hot pot in Chongqing, you could try some way cooler food in Chengdu at local fly restaurant like this. This should be a top priority for traveling in China in my opinion!
Chinese cuisine is so diverse, and I consider myself lucky to be able to live in Sichuan, eating Sichuan food everyday, tasting all the top Chinese foods to try whenever I want.
The addresses of the locations in the video are:
- The Dandan noodles 红烧牛肉 (Hóngshāo niúròu)
Address:龙泉驿区龙平路527号 (Lóngquányì qū lóng píng lù 527 hào) This is way out in Longquan, near the Longping subway station on Line 2. Only come here if you're looking to go up the mountain peach blossom area, otherwise, it's a bit far (unless you're crazy like me)
2.The famous fly restaurant lunch 叁无粉蒸 (sān wú fěn zhēng)
Address: 建设路54号(猛追湾横街中部)
3 The sliced beef in the Chinese muslim area (Chinese Halal Food).
顺记腌卤
Address: 成华区土桥北街6号
This one is a bit far out as well, but this one was definitely worth the long subway ride out. It's right near Jingke beilu subway station on line 2.
4.The steamed beef Chinese muslim style - wow this was great! Right on the street!
马鸭子 -This is right beside the Chinese muslim sliced beef spot, just two stores down I think
Address: 成华区土桥北街20号
This one is also right near Jingke beliu station.
5.Chinese muslim style Halal Lamb kebabs 羊肉串
Address: 成华区土桥北街22号
This one is also right near Jingke beilu station on line 2.
6. Sichuan style red braised eel noodles鳝鱼面,拜居奇味面
Address:肖家河西一巷8号附15
7.The spicy spicy Sichuan frog pot insanely spicy!
自贡好吃客
Address: 武侯区科华北路101号(靠近四川大学西门)
This is right near the west gate of Sichuan university in Chengdu, China.

We traveled on the long distance train all the way from Chengdu, in Sichuan province, to Xining, and then onwards to Turpan, and as soon as we arrived in Turpan, we dove deep into the street food scene and tried our hardest to eat all of the western china street food dishes. A lot of the dishes we tried really reminded me of central asian street food. The insanely delicious hand made roast baozi in this street food video was definitely of the best street foods that I’ve tried in China! So far, I’ve tried and sampled street food in Hong Kong, Guangzhou, Chengdu (in Sichuan province), and all around china, but after coming here to Turpan in Xinjiang in deep western China, I was blown away at how delicious it was and can say that this is definitely one of the best street foods around the world!
Everything we tried, and in particular these roast baozi, made by baking them deep in a tandoori oven, was really cheap. The local language is Uighur, but I got by with Mandarin Chinese, although it would have been a little better if I studied a little Uighur language to have some better interaction with the locals. Overall, our experience in Turpan eating delicious street food was amazing! It is definitely one of the best street food cities we've been to in 2017!
Here are the locations in this street food video:
1) Kao baozi AKA Samsa AKA roast beef buns (INSANELY DELICIOUS baozi baking) -
2) Meat feast and Uighur specialties dinner - featuring hand pulled noodles and hand grasped mutton as well as Polo, central asian Pilaf! -

When you think of Seafood, you don't think of Szechuan. But here in Chengdu, Sichuan, seafood is flown in from all over China and Asia to be cooked by master chefs who know how to cook the best Sichuan cuisine! In today's street food tour, we're bringing you to 2 different Sichuan locations for the best seafood in the world.
First, we're going to the local seafood market in downtown Chengdu to buy some super fresh seafood. We bought a nice plump lobster weighing 1 kg and some big Dungeness crabs as well.
The real magic is that even though Chengdu is far away from the ocean, the seafood is flown in alive so it's still super fresh and can be prepared Sichuan style. You can purchase fresh seafood from the seafood market and walk right across the street to one of the street food restaurants and bring them the seafood to cook any number of different local Sichuan recipes. Since this is a SZECHUAN SEAFOOD TOUR, we ordered Sichuan style for all the seafood, which was loaded up with tons of chilies, spicy broadbean paste, onions, and potatoes. We also ordered some hairy mitten crabs cooked in Sichuan style as well. It was all super delicious!
After that super amazing Sichuan seafood feast, the next day we went to a HUGE SEAFOOD TOWER in Chengdu. It was amazing to get into the kitchen and watch as the chefs cooked up their local Spicy Sichuan stir fry dishes and put them into the cauldron, 4 layers high. The bottom layer was spicy Sichuan frog. Then there was a layer of Spicy beef, Spicy Szechuan Chicken, and spicy Sichuan shrimp!
Here are the locations for the spicy Chinese street food restaurants in Chengdu:
1) Local Seafood Market in Chengdu, Sichuan:
Chinese Seafood Market Name: 青石桥海鲜市场
Chinese Seafood Market Address: 青石桥中街1号
2) Spicy Chinese Seafood Restaurant, All cooked Sichuan Style:
Chinese Seafood Restaurant Name: 红太阳海鲜烧烤大排档

We found a lot of foods to eat for Breakfast, and it was definitely worth traveling through China for! We visited a local morning market, and found a lot of Sichuan ingredients on the street. We chatted with local people and discovered a lot of local Sichuan ingredients used in Chinese recipes throughout the country, but in particular, Sichuan cuisine.
