World's Longest Zipline - Copper Canyon, Mexico - Dec 30 2014
A ride on the world's longest zip-line! 8350 ft
Divisadero Land of Tourism and Tarahumara
[español abajo] In three minutes, Divisadero, Land of Tourism and Tarahumara provides a reality check of the famous Copper Canyon overlook and train station at Divisadero, and the widely promoted tramway which is the center of a struggle between the territory and dignity of the Tarahumara of the Community of Mogotavo who were defrauded of their lands and rapacious tourism development by private investors and a public owned tourism development trust, El Fideicomiso Barrancas del Cobre, and a government determined to deny the Tarahumara their rights. Until now, tourists are clueless, but guess what, the Tarahumara are holding their own in court and other forms of resistance... but need your help.

Divisadero Tierra Tarahumara (english version)
The Tarahumara of Mogotavo struggle to save their lands from powerful tourism developers in Divisadero, Mexico’s famous Copper Canyon train station and overlook. They successfully resist forced relocation with help from a group of lawyers and advisors from Tierra Nativa. Yet the Tarahumara, or Raramuri as they call themselves, still face obstacles as a state and federal authorities have constructed a mechanized Adventure Park on their lands and push further their plans for development.

The longest zipline in the world! Copper Canyon, Mexico - Parque de aventuras Barrancas del Cobre
Copper Canyon Mexico Zip Line
The Copper Canyon Zip Line, which is located in Divisadero, Chihuahua, Mexico is the longest zip line in the world. It is 8350 feet in length, drops 1450 feet, and you reach a speed of over 80 MPH. It is the ride of a lifetime. The Copper Canyon is 4 times larger than the Grand Canyon and 1 1/2 times deeper. The zip line is on a stop along the the Copper Canyon railway which is one of the top train rides in the world. I have been in 66 countries and I consider this to be the trip of my lifetime. Google COPPER CANYON and look at the pictures. We arranged the trip with Canyon Travel and Michael Mondini although there are several tour groups available. We had a 12 day package with great accommodations, food, and tours during the entire trip and always felt safe. The price is a fraction of what an American or European vacation would cost. No this is not a paid commercial. LOL
