Taking its name from surrounding Snowmass Mountain, Capitol Peak, Mount Daly and Mount Sopris, Four Peaks Ranch is the consummate mountain sanctuary.
Once inside the gate, a world of unique splendor and beauty awaits. An outdoor paradise spreads out amongst the 876 pristine and unspoiled acres with 15 miles of alluring private trails for hiking, biking, horseback riding, 4 wheeling, snowmobiling, paintball, and cross-country skiing.
Moreover, a stocked pond and private beach with cabana, abundant wildlife for an exceptional private hunting experience, a chipping and putting green, and even a private labyrinth make these outdoor activities unrivaled for a personal residence of this stature. When the need for outdoor adventure is met, an abundance of essential indoor amenities is sure to pamper and indulge.
From the wealth of fine and exotic finishes, opulent furnishings and quality workmanship to the gracious and inviting living spaces, comfort is at a premium in every aspect of the Craftsman-style and Leeds-built 18,000 square feet of living space. Consider the extent of thoughtful detail present in the design and planning - steam showers in every bedroom suite, an unrivaled master wing with richly appointed his and her bathrooms, two private offices, magnificent dining room with grand views framed by large windows, intimate spaces for smaller casual gatherings or expansive areas for hosting VIP's and dignitaries, large screen theater with plush leather seating and mini stage, large bar and climate controlled wine room.
Like a day at the spa, the luxurious massage room offers a chromotherapy tub, vitamin D-infused sauna and steam room, as well as a 20 x 60 foot indoor/outdoor saltwater pool with grottos and waterfall, portable oxygen bar, and well-equipped exercise room.
Providing a living experience like few offerings in the world can, words like sublime and quintessential have been invented to describe estates like Four Peaks Ranch, but rarely will a location and setting like this leave one speechless.

Wikipedia:
Most of U.S. 550 in Colorado is two-lane mountainous highway. It is one of only two north–south U.S. Highways in Colorado which runs west of the Continental Divide The other route is US 491. The route travels north through the San Juan Mountains.
The Million Dollar Highway stretches for about 25 miles (40 km) in western Colorado and follows the route of U.S. 550 between Silverton and Ouray, Colorado. It is part of the San Juan Skyway Scenic Byway. Between Durango and Silverton the Skyway loosely parallels the Durango and Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad.
U.S. Route 550 at the Uncompahgre Gorge
Though the entire stretch has been called the Million Dollar Highway, it is really the twelve miles (19 km) south of Ouray through the Uncompahgre Gorge to the summit of Red Mountain Pass which gains the highway its name. This stretch through the gorge is challenging and potentially hazardous to drive; it is characterized by steep cliffs, narrow lanes, and a lack of guardrails; the ascent of Red Mountain Pass is marked with a number of hairpin curves used to gain elevation, and again, narrow lanes for traffic—many cut directly into the sides of mountains. During this ascent, the remains of the Idarado Mine are visible. Travel north from Silverton to Ouray allows drivers to hug the inside of curves; travel south from Ouray to Silverton perches drivers on the vertiginous outside edge of the highway. Large RVs travel in both directions, which adds a degree of excitement (or danger) to people in cars.[3] The road is kept open year-round. Summer temperatures can range from 70–90 °F highs at the ends of the highway to 50–70 °F in the mountain passes. The snow season starts in October, and snow will often close the road in winter. Chains may be required to drive.[4]
North of Durango, the highway passes by Trimble Springs, hot springs that have been open for visitors since the late 19th century. The highway runs north along the Animas River, under the Hermosa Cliffs. It enters the San Juan National Forest and goes past Haviland Lake and Elektra Lake. Drivers pass by Engineer Mountain and Twilight Peak before crossing Coal Bank Pass. Next is Molas Pass, which offers a panoramic view of Molas Lake, the Animas River Gorge, and Snowdon Peak. Northbound travelers then pass through the town of Silverton, elevation 9,320 feet (2841 m), surrounded by 13,000 foot (4000 m) peaks Sultan Mountain, Kendall Mountain, and Storm Peak.[4]
The highway leaves Silverton and proceeds up Mineral Creek Valley before ascending to Red Mountain Pass. The ruins of the Longfellow Mine are visible along the way. The highway then goes through a series of steep grades and hairpin turns before reaching Lookout Point, which offers a view of the town of Ouray.[4]
Looking south toward Red Mountain Pass.
This section of the route passes over three mountain passes:
Coal Bank Pass, elevation 10,640 ft (3,240 m).
Molas Pass, elevation 10,970 ft (3,340 m).
Red Mountain Pass, elevation 11,018 ft (3,358 m).
An overpass for an active avalanche chute on the Million Dollar Highway, south of Ouray.
The origin of the name Million Dollar Highway is disputed. There are several legends, though, including that it cost a million dollars a mile to build in the 1920s, and that its fill dirt contains a million dollars in gold ore.[1]
U.S. 550 ends at the corner of Townsend Avenue and San Juan Avenue in Montrose, Colorado at the junction of its parent route U.S. Highway 50.

Took My Car to the Highest Point I Can!!! (Day 332 - 9.28.2015)
I headed out of Fort Collins and made some drastic changes to the schedule. Additionally I drove the highest road I could find the Trail Ridge Road.

Locations: Fort Collins, Colorado, Rocky Mountain National Forest, Colorado, Grand Junction, Colorado
The vlog starts off with me explaining that the timing on the drive back to Arizona has greatly changed and as a result I decided to head out to Grand Junction for the night. Because of the change in end location, I was also able to cross in to the Rocky National Forest and drive up the Trail Ridge Road which is one of the highest serviceable roads in the country and by far the highest road that I've ever been on in the car at more than 12,100 feet high.
After racing out of the park I had a intense craving for Starburst and Skittles and about 20 minutes later was able to stop, grab them both and get back out on the road. Another hour later I was on Interstate 70 and listening to the Accidental Tech Podcast.
Unfortunately I hit a major construction zone and as a result was slowed down to making only 15 miles in 45 minutes before I finally got through it and was able to begin picking up speed again.
I raced through Breckenridge and Vail as I continued to sprint out to the western slope and sure enough once I got there it started to begin looking less and less like the mountains and forests and more and more like the desert. Starting to look and feel like home with it still being 82 degrees outside the car.
Finally after more than 8 hours of driving I made it to the hotel, was able to check in, drop the essential gear and then head out to Colorado Mesa University where I was able to give my cousin a quick hug and catch up with her for 20 or so minutes. We were making plans and I was obviously pretty excited about them. I came back to the hotel room and decided to end the vlog pretty quickly because I knew I needed to do the editing before going to be so my phone could do the upload.
Hope you guys had a great day yesterday.
