Colombia Trike Tour - Albania to Riohacha

I needed 3 nights at the fancy Hotel Waya to feel ready to ride again. This hotel was very expensive but, sometimes, you have no choice but to pay up. Everyone said this ride was going to be very difficult with strong winds, terrible roads, lots of traffic and bandits. Luckily, none of this transpired. Except for 3 miles, the road was in fine shape and there was very little traffic with almost no wind. I arrived in Riohacha, at the coast, earlier than expected. I have now ridden from Bogotá to the Caribbean coast of Colombia. It feels great to be here.

Drifting at Riohacha - Guajira - Colombia

This my first trial...drifting on the real life
I made this drift in Riohacha - Guajira, a beautiful Colombian city located in the northern part of the country.

Colombia Trike Tour - Palomino to Tayrona Park

I visit sweet little bohemian Palomino enjoying the beach and a river path. From there I rode to a funky hostel within walking distance of Tayrona Natural Park. The Journey Hostel has tree house rooms that are open air with only mosquito netting around the bed to protect from the elements. This was a very different experience! I will be staying here to check out the most famous and popular natural park in Colombia.

La comunidad wayuu es un etnia del norte de Colombia principalmente en el departamento de la guajira. La danza de la Yonna es conocida también como El baile Chicha Maya y se ejecuta para celebrar una serie de acontecimientos: la recolección y la abundancia de la cosecha, agradecimiento a Maleiwa, el creador, entre otros.

La Yonna se considera una vía para mantener la armonía entre los wayúu

Algunos movimientos del baile hacen alusión a la naturaleza. A lo largo del baile la mujer persigue al hombre al son del tambor. cuando el parejo ya no puede más, cae e inmediatamente ambos son reemplazados por otra pareja.
