Rycom Mall Official Website-
First floor features mostly Western clothing brands and the aquarium.
Second and third floors feature a big variety of stores and restaurants.
Fourth floor also features many different stores but the focus is on kids, character merchandise, and arcades (plus the movie theater!).
Fifth floor is fine dining, so where most of the expensive, full service restaurants are.

Aeon Mall in Okinawa Japan is the Japanese version of shopping malls in the States and a great place to shop, eat, and hang out. RYCOM, in particular, is the biggest of the malls on the island. It is complete with a food court, movie theater, eat in restaurant's (our favorite Kura-zushi), and even an Apple Store. Check out the video to see our opinion's on some of the places at RYCOM Aeon Mall for eating and shopping in Okinawa Japan.

Kokusai Street (located in Naha, an exciting stretch of stores and restaurants that makes Okinawa unique!)
1. Neko Fan: cat merchandise store. Find cat themed goodies catered to both humans and cats! Website in Japanese (
2. Pokemon Store at the Ryubo mall (which is located at the start of Kokusai Street): You can find some Okinawan themed Pokemon goods here as well! Website in English (
Naha Main Place San A (located in Omoromachi, Naha; it's a mall with several stores, groceries, and restaurants)
3. Tokyu Hands: stationary/lifestyle store. We bought a lot of stickers, planners, and stationary as we like to stock up on these items! There is another location at the Ginowan San A. Website in English (
4. Depot Island (Located in Mihama, it is a boardwalk/outlet mall right next to the beautiful ocean): We browsed around the whole area and stopped by Bethany, an island themed jewelry store, and several Okinawan souvenir shops! We also ate some taco rice here (which was featured in my Okinawan eats video). Website in English (
5. Aeon Mall Okinawa Rycom (located in Kitanakagusuku, near Camp Foster): The largest mall on island with 100s of stores and restaurants with venues for entertainment and displays. We usually like to browse each floor and stop by any store that catches our eye. That leaves pretty much the whole day spent at the mall!

Landing at Naha airport after Miyako Island the traditional statues of the Shisa lions are everywhere and even more so on the crazy colorful Kokusai Street the shopping landmark of Naha city. Lots of salt-related souvenirs as well as purple potato, salt-milk-potato icecream, beef & pork meats, t-shirt to self-print and so much more!!

Kokusaidori (literally International Road) is Naha's main street, stretching for around two kilometers through downtown Naha. The street takes its name from the former Ernie Pyle International Theater, a movie theater which was built along the road after the war.
Starting around the Naha Bus Terminal and Prefectural Hall, Kokusaidori is lined by restaurants, cafes, bars, hotels, boutiques, department stores and souvenir shops. Many shops are open until 11pm, and live Okinawa music is played at several restaurants..
If you are looking for even more shopping opportunities, you are encouraged to go into the colorful Heiwadori, Mutsumidori and Ichiba Hondori arcades, which branch off Kokusaidori around the intersection with Okieidori, halfway along the street. The shops in the arcade are smaller than those along Kokusaidori.
Access Information:
Kokusaidori Street is located right in central Naha. The street leads from the Naha Bus Terminal to Makishi Station on the Okinawa Monorail. It is also only a few steps away distance from the monorail's Kencho-mae and Miebashi Stations.

OKINAWA JAPAN VLOG - Outlet Mall Shopping 沖繩自由行 #4
SURPRISE! I know I've been gone only for 5 days but I'm sure yuh miss me already because how could you not? Just kidding! By now you should have guessed! I went on summer vacay/vacation with my family to OKINAWA, JAPAN!!! We've been to Japan 15 times at least but it is our 1st time in Okinawa/Ryukyu Islands. I'm sure yuh all heard about Okinawa being an U.S. Military Force Base. It is an island off mainland Japan so it is relatively less developed compared to Toyko/Osaka big cities like those.
Nonetheless, it is unlike any Japanese cities you will ever experience because it just has so many different cultural influences that it is sort of unique on its own. I personally see it as the Hawaii in Japan because the beaches are just as beautiful and the people and the atmosphere are exactly like what I experienced in Hawaii.
Though, the best part of this entire trip to me personally was the American Village. It was an out of the world experience to see these two (Japanese and American) completely different cultures clashes into fireworks. They are so distinct from each other, yet they marry so well together in the American Village in Okinawa. Not to mention that I spotted actual American soldiers with uniforms in the neighbourhood! Oh and also the cheap sushi/sashimi! Yum yum Japanese food!

Japanese Supermarket (Naha, Okinawa)
Recorded 10 July 2012 - I was in the supermarket looking for some beers and snacks and I happened to be carrying my camera (oh like I was ever going to be travelling around here without it!). The in-store music playing over the tannoy in the market was so crazy that I just had to make this 90 second clip to share it with you all. What a great place, but the culture shock still catches me out from time to time.
