Spain (Listeni/ˈspeɪn/; Spanish: España [esˈpaɲa] ( listen)), officially the Kingdom of Spain (Spanish: Reino de España),[a][b] is a sovereign state located on the Iberian Peninsula in southwestern Europe. Its mainland is bordered to the south and east by the Mediterranean Sea except for a small land boundary with Gibraltar; to the north and northeast by France, Andorra, and the Bay of Biscay; and to the west and northwest by Portugal and the Atlantic Ocean. Along with France and Morocco, it is one of only three countries to have both Atlantic and Mediterranean coastlines. Spain's 1,214 km (754 mi) border with Portugal is the longest uninterrupted border within the European Union. Spanish territory also includes two archipelagos; the Balearic Islands, in the Mediterranean Sea, and the Canary Islands, in the Atlantic Ocean off the African coast; two major exclaves, Ceuta and Melilla, in continental North Africa; and the islands and peñones (rocks) of Alborán, Alhucemas, Chafarinas and Vélez de la Gomera. With an area of 505,990 km2 (195,360 sq mi), Spain is the second largest country in Western Europe and the European Union, and the fourth largest country in Europe. By population, Spain is the sixth largest in Europe and the fifth in the European Union. Modern humans first arrived in the Iberian Peninsula around 35,000 years ago. Iberian cultures along with ancient Phoenician, Greek and Carthaginian settlements developed on the peninsula until it came under Roman rule around 200 BCE, after which the region was named Hispania. In the Middle Ages, the area was conquered by Germanic tribes and later by the Moors. Spain emerged as a unified country in the 15th century, following the marriage of the Catholic Monarchs and the completion of the centuries-long reconquest, or Reconquista, of the peninsula from the Moors in 1492. In the early modern period, Spain became one of history's first global colonial empires, leaving a vast cultural and linguistic legacy that includes over 500 million Spanish speakers, making Spanish the world's second most spoken first language. Spain is a democracy organised in the form of a parliamentary government under a constitutional monarchy. It is a middle power and a developed country with the world's fourteenth largest economy by nominal GDP and sixteenth largest by purchasing power parity. It is a member of the United Nations (UN), the European Union (EU), the Council of Europe (CoE), the Organization of Ibero-American States (OEI), the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), the World Trade Organization (WTO) and many other international organisations.

Founded as a Roman city, in the Middle Ages Barcelona became the capital of the County of Barcelona. After merging with the Kingdom of Aragon, Barcelona continued to be an important city in the Crown of Aragon as an economic and administrative centre of this Crown and the capital of the Principality of Catalonia. Barcelona has a rich cultural heritage and is today an important cultural centre and a major tourist destination. Particularly renowned are the architectural works of Antoni Gaudí and Lluís Domènech i Montaner, which have been designated UNESCO World Heritage Sites. The headquarters of the Union for the Mediterranean is located in Barcelona. The city is known for hosting the 1992 Summer Olympics as well as world-class conferences and expositions and also many international sport tournaments.
Barcelona is one of the world's leading tourist, economic, trade fair and cultural centres, and its influence in commerce, education, entertainment, media, fashion, science, and the arts all contribute to its status as one of the world's major global cities. It is a major cultural and economic centre in southwestern Europe, 24th in the world (before Zürich, after Frankfurt) and a financial centre. In 2008 it was the fourth most economically powerful city by GDP in the European Union and 35th in the world with GDP amounting to €177 billion. In 2012 Barcelona had a GDP of $170 billion; and it was leading Spain in employment rate in that moment.
In 2009 the city was ranked Europe's third and one of the world's most successful as a city brand. In the same year the city was ranked Europe's fourth best city for business and fastest improving European city, with growth improved by 17% per year, and the city has been experiencing strong and renewed growth for the past three years. Since 2011 Barcelona has been a leading smart city in Europe. Barcelona is a transport hub, with the Port of Barcelona being one of Europe's principal seaports and busiest European passenger port, an international airport, Barcelona–El Prat Airport, which handles over 40 million passengers per year, an extensive motorway network, and a high-speed rail line with a link to France and the rest of Europe'

B4 we begin ; as i was uploading this video , the 100th subscriber joined the channel , a BIG thank you to all 100 of you for your confidence in Aero Mundos , this trip report to BCN is for you, enjoy.
The 100th video celebration will b uploaded january 2017 , now to the matter at hand :
Hola amigos , is time to head to Spain once more , this time to one of Europe's most vibrant cities : Barcelona.
I am always happy to visit any country that has Spanish as official language , it makes me feel at home wherever it may be and so was the case of Barcelona.
I think languages are like keys that open the doors to different societies and cultures around the world , the more one knows , the more doors one will open.
As you can see in the video Doha Airport in Qatar is not the only one with a giant animal figure in it's terminal , DUS has also one and a baby as well.
Choosing most of the time seat 28F or 28A has it reasons , first of all one gets to board the plane in the first group , right after the priority passengers , which is a big plus.Outside the window , the wing creates an artificial frame when recording , so that there is always something inside the frame and not only clouds and blue skies , that can be really boring after a while,
The landing segment in this trip report was unedited as to show you the beautiful approach overlooking Barcelona and to give you a sense as how big BCN Airport really is.
I hope u enjoyed this video , soon to come is the last video of the year for this channel , stay tuned as a special intro is being prepared just for that , u know by now how this channel loves it's intros.

It consists of our visit to
1. The world Famous Sagrada Familia
2. La Boqueria
3. Sunset and the entire city view from the Carmel Bunkers in Barcelona
We feel Christmas is one of the best possible times to visit Barcelona if you don't mind missing out on playing in the sea.
For stay we got a good deal to stay at a decent place called Hotel Climent near Placa d'Espanya.
This place has very good connectivity with the entire city via busses and metro train and is the first stop on the aero-bus from the airport
As we were vegetarians here is a list of places we visited for affordable food.
1. Maccina Pasta bar (Our Favorite place)
2. Surya Muntaner
3. Domino's Pizza and Subway
4. Maoz vegetarian on La Rambla
You can always try to find other Indian restaurants to eat at.

In Spain, particularly in the contested Catalonia region, soccer is political.
Watch Part 1: Inside Catalonia’s Battle Over Independence From Spain
The country is home to the two top teams in the world, Football Club Barcelona, or “Barça,” and Real Madrid. Barça is a premier symbol of Catalan identity and pride, while Real Madrid is seen to represent the Spanish crown and Madrid’s rule over Catalonia.
