Afflecks, an indoor market in the city's Northern Quarter is full of dozens of independent stalls, small shops and boutiques operate in the one building.

Fifteen Independent Retailers on the 3rd Floor of Afflecks, NQ have teamed up to throw a Summer Party on Saturday 21st July with Live Music, DJ’s, Free Cake and of course, Giveaways and Discounts!

Comprising of four floors, the 3rd floor of Afflecks has decided to tempt you right to the top for a summer party - and encourages you to take your time exploring the other floors as you head back out.

The 3rd Floor hosts fifteen different independent retailers, with the largest selection of Independent Art and Gift Shops. Other shops on the 3rd floor include Action Figures and Collectibles, Fancy Dress, Custom Glass Engraving, Crystals, Gothic Accessories, Guitars and Vinyl Records. It also has a Cafe and is accessible via one of Afflecks three staircases or via lift .

Our Free Summer Party is an opportunity for us to come together as independent retailers and give our customers a great big THANKYOU for supporting small businesses. It’s a chance for us to show that we believe in community over competition and give people a reason to come and explore what we have to offer.

Come and explore what we have to offer - and have fun doing so! Running a small independent creative business is a labour of love and we rely on the support of customers old and new to help us continue.

So whether you have never visited Afflecks, are a regular or have not been for years - Saturday 21st July is an opportunity for you to go along and enjoy the atmosphere, with lots of shops getting involved in the fun!

Hey Everyone!

When I was in Manchester the other day I went to the amazing Affleck's Palace. This is an amazing building filled with individual stores and pop-up shops. I loved the idea of this old run down building being converted into something brilliant so I thought I would give it a film :) I saw some seriously cool clothes and I just wish I had had the money at the time to splash out and buy a few goodies!

Lee Chandler (Casey Affleck) ist ein schweigsamer Einzelgänger, der als Handwerker eines Wohnblocks in Boston arbeitet. An einem feuchtkalten Wintertag erhält er einen Anruf, der sein Leben auf einen Schlag verändert. Das Herz seines Bruders Joe (Kyle Chandler) steht still. Nun soll Lee die Verantwortung für seinen 16-jährigen Neffen Patrick übernehmen. Äusserst widerwillig kehrt er in seine Heimat, die Hafenstadt Manchester-by-the-Sea, zurück. Doch ist Lee dieser Situation und der neuen Herausforderung gewachsen? Kann die Begegnung mit seiner (Ex-) Frau Randi (Michelle Williams), mit der er einst ein chaotisches, aber glückliches Leben führte, die alten Wunden der Vergangenheit heilen?

Kenneth Lonergan erzählt in ruhigen und starken Bildern mit einem herausragenden Casey Affleck (Die Ermordung des Jesse James durch den Feigling Robert Ford, Gone Baby Gone) in der Rolle des Lee Chandler wie es ist, wenn normalen Menschen schier Unfassbares passiert.
Ebenfalls erstklassig ist das Ensemble, das Affleck umgibt. Zutiefst berührend und gleichzeitig aufwühlend - Manchester by the Sea ist die Geschichte eines Mannes, der sich nicht nur mit einer neuen Verantwortung, sondern auch mit der Vergangenheit konfrontiert sieht.
