Samson Ssenkaaba aka Xenson graduated in 1999 from the Margaret Trowell School of Industrial and Fine Arts, Makerere University majoring in graphic design and painting. Since then, his works have been shown in numerous exhibitions and fashion shows in Uganda and abroad.
Most recently, he had a solos fashion and art show called Baroque Afrique, at Village Mall, The collection juxtaposes the richest man of all times Mansa Musa1 who moved in an equally Gold bejeweled carnival like convoy. The baroque period was a well exhibition of wealth and grandeur whose main connoisseur were kings and Queens. Also in past he held solo exhibitions at the Emin Pasha Hotel and AfriArt Gallery in Kampala and at the Maritime Hotel in Mauritius. In 2010 Xenson exhibited at MishMash Gallery, Kampala, won the Fibre to Fashion Contest in Nairobi, participated in the Molato na Brazza fashion festival in Brazzaville, the International Film Festival, Rotterdam and created an installation for Bayimba International Festival of the Arts in Kampala.
Xenson is a founding member of Cream de la Mode Africaine, an association of designers from ten African countries seeking to promote African fashion, textiles and fabrics on the continent and overseas. He is also the co-founder of Ugandan Hip Hop Foundation, an association that empowers the youth through urban culture and hip hop music.
ACHIEVEMENTS
He has participated in workshops, residences and exhibitions including: Kabbo ka Muwala (Zimbabwe, Uganda, German 2016), Johannesburg Art fair (South Africa 2015), KLA ART 2014(Uganda). The Lubare and the boat, DEVERON Arts ( Scotland 2014), Institute Buena Bista(CURACAO 2014), Future of Africa summit ( Paris, Frnace) , Africa now: Fashioning personhood, Minneapolis Institute of Art ( USA 2014), Artist in Residence( 32East / Uganda Arts Trust, Kampala 2013) KAL ART 2012 ( Kampala p, Uganda2012), World Cultural Forum ( Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, 2016)
He is a well collected artist in Germany, Scotland, United Kingdom, Netherlands, Brazil, Argentina, France, USA, and Canada. His works are many private and public collections including the SCOTTISH MUSEUM.

Farid Mahfudh's Interview - Part 2. Exhibition: Endangered: Passion, Concern and Dedication.
Farid started documenting birds following the unfortunate death of over two million Quelea birds by spraying at Kibimba Rice Farm, in Eastern Uganda occurred, it ignited his conservationist streak. It also coincided with the finishing of his Bachelor’s degree in Fine Art (BIFA) at Margaret Trowel School of Industrial and Fine Art, Makerere University in Kampala where he specialized in oil painting and anatomy study. The latter discipline influenced his studio technique to drawing with a strong predisposition to detailing a painting – unlike the usual abstract or realistic approach.
