Chimp trekking in Kibale National Park, Uganda
Tad's chimp trekking adventures in Kibale National Park, Uganda with Classic Africa Safaris.
To start, we didn't have to do much trekking as the alpha male of the largest troop in the area was perched high in the forest canopy just above our vehicle, enjoying his breakfast in the sun. We literally had to walk about 20 steps to see him. On one hand, it was a bit anti-climactic as I expected to have to work and actually track the chimps to see them. On the other hand, there was the alpha male of the 120-member strong troop, high up in the forest canopy, enjoying his breakfast in the sun! We spent about an hour watching, taking picture and waiting for the male to descend from the tree and lead us to the rest of the troop. And then the adventure began!

Amazing Wildlife Safari in Queen Elizabeth National Park and Kazinga Channel Uganda 2019 (4K video)
Amazing wildlife, a huge variety of birds and primates are typical for the Queen Elizabeth National Park, located right at the border to the DR Kongo. The park stretches over a huge area from north to south where each part has its own distinct vegetation and landscape. Herbivores such as elephant, cape buffalos, topis, waterbucks and Ugandan kob are widespread all over the park. Lion, leopard and spotted hyena are the main predators. During our game drive from Ishasha sector to Kazinga channel we were incredibly lucky to spot a Ross’s turaco and a group of red-tailed monkeys. The famous Kazinga channel connects Lake George with Lake Eduard and is home to hippos, crocodiles and many species of birds like cormorant, pelican, stork and kingfisher. Especially the pied kingfisher can be found in big numbers.
Welcome to our birding and wildlife safari to Queen Elizabeth National Park and Kazinga channel in Uganda in August 2019. We stayed two nights at the wonderful Ishasha Wilderness Camp in the Ishasha sector and two nights at the Katara Lodge located right at the edge of the rift valley near the famous Kazinga channel.
For animal identification, please refer to the video subtitle or to the species list below.
With best regards,
Sandra and Markus

Murchison Falls in Uganda; Beautiful African Destination
The magnitude of this falls is rivaled only by the Zambezi in Zimbabwe. It is magnificent and one of Uganda's leading tourist attractions. One of Africa's breathtaking attractions.
2015.04.09 Taxi from Kabale to Rushaga - Uganda
In the town of Kabale, Gavin and I hired a private taxi to take us to the village of Rushaga where we would go to see the Gorillas. Most of the taxi drivers were really aggressive but there didn't seem to be any public transportation, so we picked the nicest guy. The trip turned out to be farther than we'd thought and the roads were rough in the pouring rain. Though we spent hours driving, the scenery was beautiful and very much reminded us of Gorillas in the Mist.
The Batwa: Ugandan People of the Forest
The Batwa 'Pygmy' tribe from the Rwanda Border, South-Western Uganda. Filmed on location with interviews from Samajeri Gad and George Byomuhumuza of Kabale district Oct 2011. Special thanks to Studio Edirisa for giving me the opportunity to create this video.
Kabale to Kisoro
My visit to Kisoro - September 2013
The mighty jungles of Uganda
Uganda, the last country of our Africa trip was definetly a grande finale.
A dream came true when we met the gentle giants in the jungle! We actually tracked them through the thick jungle for about 6 hours but it was absolutely worth it!
The story behind the video will follow soon on our website:
Kampala, Entebbe, Reptile Village, Murchison Falls and Lake Bunyonyi, Uganda, 2016
A report on our travels in Uganda. We started out with a walking tour of Kampala. I highly recommend this 3 or 6 hour walk which is lead by Zulaika -
In Murchison Falls National Park is located on east and west sides of the Nile river. On the east side it's a rain forest and on the west it's more of a savanna. While at the Murchison Falls we saw a variety of wild animals. Hippos, crocodiles, baboons, elephants, jumping monkeys, monitor lizards and various bugs.
After the falls we returned to Kampala. After a day we took a Post Office bus to Kabale in the south west of Uganda. From Kabale we went to a crater Lake Bunyonyi that is over one mile above see level. The depth of the lake reaches 900 meters (over 2700 feet). Locals who live around the lake get around by canoes that are extremely hard to maneuver. People were very friendly and kids never missed an opportunity to practice their English.
We returned to Kampala and immediately left for Entebbe. We stopped by the Botanical Gardens where the original black and white Tarzan was filmed. In the morning on the day of our flights we visited the Reptile Village. Monitor lizards, crocodiles and chameleons were within reach.
Some of the things we didn't do was mountain and silver back gorilla tracking and chimpanzee tracking.
Overall, Uganda made a great impression on both of us. I highly recommend visiting this amazing country. We are definitely planing to return.

Again we would like to take this opportunity to thank Red Chilli Hideaway, for the wonderful trip and specialty Mr Hassan Nsubuga, our driver, ranger, organizer and friend! Thank you!
Our trip to Uganda took 10 days, and I'm sure I'll never forget it. On the top of the cake was the company of two of my sons, Marta and João, since Joana couldn't come due to her busy work agenda. Finally a great thanks to Carlos, long time true friend who, with Red Chilli Hideaway have designed the trip.
This is the second video of a serie of video I'll produce, and I pretend to give you a quick feel of this wonderful and friendly country, UGANDA!
Most tourists who come to Uganda visit more than one destination. You can combine your Queen Elizabeth safari with gorilla trekking safaris in Bwindi, or tour Murchison Falls National Park. For relaxation after your wildlife safari, you can visit Ssese Islands but if you are more interested in adventure, take on rafting on the nile, chimpanzee trekking in Kibale, Rwenzori Mountains climbing and Mount elgon hike.
Queen Elizabeth National Park occupies an estimated 1,978 square kilometres (764 sq mi). The park extends from Lake George in the north-east to Lake Edward in the south-west and includes the Kazinga Channel connecting the two lakes.
The park was founded in 1952 as Kazinga National Park. It was renamed two years later to commemorate a visit by Queen Elizabeth II.
Queen Elizabeth National Park is known for its wildlife, including Cape buffaloes, hippopotami, crocodiles, elephants, leopards, lions, and chimpanzees. It is home to 95 mammal species and over 500 species of birds. The area around Ishasha in Rukungiri District is famous for its tree-climbing lions, whose males sport black manes. Poachers killed six elephants in the park in 2015, triggering both anger and frustration within the Ugandan conservation community.
The park is also famous for its volcanic features, including volcanic cones and deep craters, many with crater lakes, such as the Katwe craters, from which salt is extracted.
Services in the park include a telecenter run by Conservation Through Public Health and the Uganda Wildlife Authority, neighboring the Queen's Pavilion, park lodges, game and scenic drives, and boat launches.

African Parks - Ennedi
This was a project an attempt at showcasing the immense beauty and complexity of the Ennedi region in Chad. Considered to be the area in the Sahara that recieves the highest rainfall annually, it is truly unique. However, something that was impossible to capture in this video without a subject was the SCALE!
African Parks made this possible and their conservation efforts in Chad and other remote parts of Africa that need it most, are unmatched. Thanks to Rocco Rava and the Spazi d'Avventura team for showing us the way.
