Paradise Valley, Agadir, Morocco | Sarah Mulea
heeeeeey, heres a vlog from our day trip to Paradise Valley, in Agadir Morocco! enjoy x
The journey from Agadir to Dakar | Al Jazeera World
Filmmaker: Khalid Zairi
Morocco's key natural resources include phosphates, zinc, manganese and iron ore. The mining industry is important to the national economy and its products highly sought abroad.
Moroccan truck drivers Ibrahim Tabii and Abdelkabir Ainan risk their lives on dangerous roads and through disputed terrain to bring mineral material from Agadir to Dakar, a 3,000-kilometre journey that can take around two weeks.
This is not like truck driving across the United States where long distances are common and hours are controlled by the federal law. It's not like driving in Europe with its tight regulation and vehicle monitoring systems measuring driver-time at the wheel.
This is driving in Saharan Africa. There are no motorway service stations, no 24-hour SOS vehicle recovery and no spare parts at the end of a mobile phone. Driving hours are not obviously regulated and there are hardly any rest areas.
The two drivers also have to pass through an area known as the Western Sahara. It has been a disputed territory between Morocco and what's called the Polisario Front since 1975. The UN has maintained a peacekeeping mission in Western Sahara, a territory about the size of New Zealand, for 27 years.
UN efforts have repeatedly failed to broker a settlement over the disputed territory, which the Sahrawi people, led by the PF says belongs to them. The Polisario Front, a formerly armed nationalist group signed a cease-fire with Morocco in 1991; but since the conflict has made this leg of the journey risky.
When the two drivers reach the border with Mauritania, they're heavily delayed and by customs and immigration formalities and have no alternative but to wait in a makeshift bedroom until vehicle checks and done and visas issued.
In the US, a driver can be at the wheel for up to 11 hours out of 14. In Europe, the rules are tighter, the daily maximum is normally nine hours but breaks have to be taken every four-and-a-half hours. Daily rest should be eleven hours.
But this is the Moroccan Sahara. Laws setting out the working hours and conditions for freight drivers are hard to identify at the present time, although the Moroccan government does recognise the importance of road safety and is currently devising a national road safety strategy.
I'm sleepy because we haven't rested. We're always under pressure from phone calls, says Ibrahim. Even though we're entitled to rest for an hour after a four-hour drive, the manager doesn't allow it. We're forced to drive day and night. If you get the chance to sleep, it's for a maximum of two hours.
Unlike travelling in other regions of the world with better infrastructure, road conditions in Mauritania are generally poor, making travel difficult. Roadside assistance is non-existent and the country's size (larger than Texas and New Mexico combined) and harsh climate make road maintenance and repair especially problematic.
Mauritania has only about 2,070 km (1,286 miles) of surfaced roads, 710 km (441 miles) of unsurfaced roads, and 5,140 km (3,194 miles) of unimproved tracks, according to countryreports.org.
Drivers are advised to check the tide times, travel in convoy if possible and ensure adequate supplies of water and fuel are available. Local drivers tend to drive without regard to traffic signs or rules.
Roadway obstructions and hazards caused by drifting sand, animals, and poor roads often plague motorists, according to Nasser Weddady, a Middle East and North Africa consultant based in Boston, Massachusetts.
The two drivers also get seriously delayed at the border into Senegal, waiting for papers, getting information from their shipping agent, talking to their boss back in Agadir, and waiting for their passports. All the while, they're missing their families.
Finally, after 3,000 kilometers and over two weeks on the road, the men reach Dakar and unload their trucks. But the return journey with a load of fresh mangoes also has its problems and Ibrahim has to travel back to Morocco empty because of the refrigeration on his vehicle isn't working.
Meanwhile, Ibrahim's reconsidering his career options: The only thing I've been thinking about is going home and returning the truck to its owner and quitting. You can't turn down a job in Africa when you're unemployed. I have to provide for my family so I try to put up with it but it's difficult. I'd rather go home, rest and find another job.
As for Abdelkabir, a steady salary is better than a big occasional one.

Things To Do In Morocco - PARADISE VALLEY Atlas Mountains Agadir 2018
Made entirely using a Gopro Hero 4, Huawei P20 and Ziyhun Smooth Q Gimbal and edited in HitFilm Pro.
One of the most beautiful places I had the chance to visit.Best thing to do in Agadir and is was safe. It only cost us around 40$ to get here. 1h15min drive from the city center of Agadir Morocco, through the Atlas Mountains.
Paradise Valley is a section of the Tamraght River valley in the Moroccan High Atlas mountains. It is located approximately 20 km north of Agadir. The valley is known for its abundance of rock pools and small waterfalls.

Walking along Agadir beachfront at night, Morocco
Agadir, a city along Morocco’s southern Atlantic coast, in the foothills of the Anti-Atlas Mountains, is the capital of Agadir-Ida Ou Tanane province. A resort destination, it's known for its golf courses, wide crescent beach and seaside promenade lined with cafes, restaurants and bars. Agadir's hilltop kasbah was destroyed in a 1960 earthquake, but its original old wall remains standing.

Agdal n'Irkane to Agadir Ait Boulmane, Atlas Mountains, Morocco - 20 September 2016
A 9 mile linear route from Agdal n'Irkane to Agadir Aït Boulmane. The route crosses the plateau through alpine meadows and traditional grazing areas to reach a terrace giving fantastic views over the Ourika Valley. From here the route descends more than 1000 metres to reach the village of Setti Fatima, a pilgrimage sight and a popular holiday resort. After a break beside the river the route continues towards the gorge of the Ourika and the night’s camp among the terraces of the Berber village of Agadir Aït Boulmane. Altitude at camp is 1500m.

Agadir -Morocco-Agadir-Agadir-Morocco Exotic Journey. Agadir is a Hot, Steamy, Sexy, Exotic Journey, Fun place.
Ride along with us approaching and driving into the heart of the Agadir beach resort area. Agadir is a beach area on the Atlantic seashore in Morocco (Maroc). We drove from Marrakech, Morocco. The drive was a bit treacherous, one lane each way carved through desert mountains. Just before reaching our destination everything changed and the sea-salt, sands and rows of outdoor cafes invite you to dive in and soak in the exotic flavors.
Hop on in and take a ride with us as we approach the last moments on the road before our final destination for one week-the marina condominiums in Agadir. The Marina condos are literally right next to the actual Marina of Agadir. The complex is within walking distance of everything and is modern and cozy. The owners often rent to people and I would recommend considering the condos instead of a hotel.

It was a long walk to get to the part where everyone swims and rest. Also very scary to walk especially with young kids. Not recommended during high heat and young kids. Bring food & drinks.
This is a MUST SEE for anyone travelling the South of Morocco. Yes you need sensible shoes, but I also saw lots of people in sandals and sliders so its not impossible to do in any footwear. We took a BBQ and had a lovely picnic there. Its a place where you can see millions of years of history where 2 tectonic plates meet. I enjoyed everything about this day, even the blistering heat
What an amazing place. After a 30 minute hike (wear trainers!) we were taken to the last fresh water ravine. There are 3 you see, the first you stumble upon is very busy so we decided to see the last one, furthest, first. We jumped from the rocks into the pools and swam with fishes. It was such a great atmosphere with people from all cultures and nationalities coming together to enjoy themselves. We then wandered down to the other two, no large rocks to jump off of but still lovely none the less.
I would say to be careful, the rocks were VERY slippy but it didn’t ruin our day. The beauty of this place is enough to suggest a visit.
The guide we had was also very lovely, we gave him 200 dh as he was great, friendly and stopped me from falling on many occasions!
100% worth a visit! Summer is coming

Walking through AGADIR Morocco - جولة بمدينة اگادير
My neighbors here in Morocco wanted to show me around Agadir - and naturally, I obliged! We walked through the souk (marketplace), taking in all the sights and smells of the various things this port city has to offer. Morocco is full of exceptionally talented artisans - and fresh delicious food. Then we took a city bus to the hill above the Agadir, where the old medina used to stand, until it was hit by a tragic earthquake back in 1960. From this hilltop, we took in the views of this grand coastal city, now rebuilt in all directions, larger and more expansive than ever before.

That's what I consider true generosity, you give your all and yet you always feel as if it costs you nothing. You cannot do a kindness too soon because you never know how soon it will be too late. It takes generosity to discover the whole through others.
Allow my caputured video to enlighten those who are yet to experince a holiday destination as big as Agadir Morocco.
Life is really simple, but we insist on making it complicated. Do not dwell in the past, do not dream of the future, concentrate the mind on the present moment. The quality, not the longevity, of one's life is what is important. Life imitates art far more than art imitates Life. Family is everything, family is one of nature's masterpieces. The most important thing in the world is family and love.
Life can only be understood backwards but it must be lived forwards. The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams.
