Aghdam, Azerbaijan - Ghost Town
Once a city of over 100,000, today Aghdam is the consummated portrait of the devastation brought by the war. The city was destroyed by Armenian forces to prevent the return of Azeri population. The mosque was the only building spared. The city is now empty - no people, no cars, no sounds - a ghostly atmosphere.

Hi! Friends
Today we are learn about Agdam, Azerbaijan
Ağdam (also, Agdam and Akna) is a ghost town in the southwest part of Azerbaijan and the capital of its Agdam District. The forces of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic captured Agdam during their 1993 summer offensives. The heavy fighting forced the entire population to flee eastwards. After they took possession of the town the Armenian forces of Nagorno-Karabkh decided to destroy much of Agdam to discourage the Azerbaijanis from recapturing it. More damage occurred in the following decades when locals looted the deserted town for building materials. Agdam is currently ruined and uninhabited. The town's large Agdam Mosque survives intact but is in a derelict condition.

The city of Aghdam, Karabakh under Armenian Occupation
The ruined city of Aghdam once had a population of over 150,000 people, but today it's an almost entirely uninhabited ghost town. All the houses have been destroyed by armenian soldiers: some by shells fired in the war, others looted for their bricks.

The word Nagorno- is a Russian attributive adjective, derived from the adjective nagorny (нагорный), which means highland. The Azerbaijani name of the region includes similar adjectives dağlıq (mountainous) or yuxarı (upper).
The name Karabakh is made of two words, kara and bagh (or bakh) which originate from Azerbaijani and literally means black garden.
NagornoKarabakh or Mountainous Karabagh is a landlocked region of Azerbaijan, lying between Lower Karabakh and Zangezur and covering the south-eastern range of the Lesser Caucasus mountains. The region is mostly mountainous and forested and occupies the same are as former Nagorno Karabakh Autonomous Region of Azerbaijan Soviet Republic. The Autonomous region was established in 1923 according to the decision of Supreme Soviet Government by Joseph Stalin and was dissolved in 1991 by the Parliament of Azerbaijan Soviet republic as Armenia enhanced its claims to this region of Azerbaijan with support of local Armenian population which committed ethical cleansing and expulsion of sizeable Azerbaijani population of the region.
Later on the Armenian troops invaded the Nagorno Karabakh region of Azerbaijan and occupied this region as well as 6 other districts next to it. The occupation and ethnic cleansing of local Azerbaijani population was condemn by all international organisation such as UN Security Council, European Council and Nagorno Karabakh was reaffirmed to be the part of Azerbaijan Republic numerous times.
In order to mask its invasion of neighbouring country Armenia establish so called Nagorno Karabakh republic, which is under absolute control of Armenian and its military forced. No international organisation or any country has recognized this fiction so called state.
