Agios Georgios Alamanos Monastery, Cyprus
Agios Georgios Alamanos Monastery.
Agios Georgios Alamanos Monastery is located within 20 km. north-east of Limassol, not far from the way to Larnaca.
The monastery was founded in XII century. Tourists can buy icons, painted by monks.
The monastery of Agios Georgios Alamanos standing majestically, like an ancient castle, is found south west of Pentakomo. Two recently built Byzantine rhythm chapels, those of Agioi Pantes and Agios Nektarios, the main church in the middle of the complex and the nuns' cells on the ground as well as the first floor of the tall buildings which surround the church, are what catch the eye of the visitor. In this commune, and under the supervision and succour of the Mother Superior, each nun has her own particular duties. The history of the monastery of Agios Georgios Alamanos is lost in the depths of time. According to Machairas, one of the 300 Alaman saints who reached Cyprus, came to this remote and tranquil spot to exercise his monastic life. It is not certain whether a monastery was founded here during the Frankish period, later to be disestablished during the Ottoman occupation of Cyprus. What is certain is that in 1880 Paisius re-established this location as a worshipping site. Paisius constructed the first monastic cells and repaired the decrepit church, which, together, formed the nucleus of the contemporary monastery. Monastic life, however, did not continue uninterrupted since, for a number of reasons, Paisius was compelled to abandon the monastery. In 1949, the then Bishop of Kitium and later Makarios III, Archbishop of Cyprus, reorganised the monastery and, with his support, led to the settling there of about 13 nuns from the monastery of Agios Antonios, near Deryneia. Thanks to the diligence, zeal and faith of these first nuns, the monastery was transformed in no time. The number of cells was increased, the number of visitors multiplied, and contributions led to the establishment of many modern amenities.

Larnaca beaches - dark sand and wavebreakers
Larnaca has a good selection of sandy stretches. In the east there are luxurious hotels and wavebreakers. In the west, tourism is not as developed and the number of visitors is lower. In summer especially after midday it usually gets a bit windy. There are a number of Blue flag beaches (Gannades on Voroklini coast, Phinikoudes Beach, Mckenzie Beach and Faros Beach). The coast west of the Larnaka airport all the way to Zygi enjoys a very low density of beachgoers (with the exception of Faros beach at Pervolia village). There is an organised beach in Alaminos.
There are many attractions in the area including Agios Lazaros church in Larnaka, Panagia Aggeloktisti in Kiti village, Hala Sultan Tekke by Larnaca Salt Lake, Koulas medieval tower in Alaminos village, Agios Antonios medieval church in Kelia, the Kamares Aqueduct and many more.
Good place to relax.

Nicosia
Nicosia (/ˌnɪkəˈsiːə/ NIK-ə-SEE-ə; Greek: Λευκωσία; IPA:[lefkoˈsi.a], Turkish: Lefkoşa) is the capital and largest city on the island of Cyprus, as well as its main business centre. It is located near the centre of the Mesaoria plain, on the banks of the River Pedieos.
Nicosia is the capital and seat of government of the Republic of Cyprus. It is the southeasternmost capital of the EU member states. The northern part of the city functions as the capital of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, a disputed region recognized only by Turkey, and which the international community recognises as Cypriot territory under Turkish occupation, and has done so since the Turkish invasion in 1974.

SUMMARY
=======
Nicosia ( NIK-ə-SEE-ə; Greek: Λευκωσία, translit. Lefkosia [lefkoˈsi.a]; Turkish: Lefkoşa [lefˈkoʃa]) is the largest city, capital, and seat of government of the island of Cyprus. It is located near the centre of the Mesaoria plain, on the banks of the River Pedieos.
Nicosia is the farthest southeast of all EU member states' capitals. It has been continuously inhabited for over 4,500 years and has been the capital of Cyprus since the 10th century. The Greek Cypriot and Turkish Cypriot communities of Nicosia segregated into the south and north of the city respectively in 1963, following the crisis from 1955–64 that broke out in the city. This separation became a militarized border between the Republic of Cyprus and Northern Cyprus after Turkey invaded the island of Cyprus in 1974, occupying the north of the island, including northern Nicosia. Today North Nicosia is the capital of Northern Cyprus, a state recognized only by Turkey, that is considered to be occupied Cypriot territory by the international community.
Apart from its legislative and administrative functions, Nicosia has established itself as the island's financial capital and its main international business centre. In 2018, Nicosia was the 32nd richest city in the world in relative purchasing power.
