Marmaris, Turkey - April 2012
Marmaris is a port town and tourist resort on the Mediterranean coast, located in Muğla Province, southwest Turkey, along the shoreline of the Turkish Riviera.
Marmaris' main source of income is tourism. Little is left of the sleepy fishing village that Marmaris was just a few decades ago, after a construction boom in the 1980s. Marmaris still retains its charm due to its exceptional location between two intersecting sets of mountains by the sea.
This video features views around the port of Marmaris, along the beach, in the town centre bazaar and shopping area, and along the Kenan Evran Boulevard.

#Kameriye Island (Boat Trip) - #Marmaris - Turkey 1080p/60fps
Is a place where you can enjoy an early morning anchor and swim or snorkel on the southern side of the island. You will often see some interesting fish swimming close to shore and around the yacht.
This was a small but thriving Greek community stretching around the south and south east side of the island. There are some great Greek ruins that have a small Orthodox church built within a larger one from earlier times. There is an old Greek church and a monastery in the South of Kameriye Adası. You can also see some mosaic flooring and a cistern well. Often goats will join you in rambling over the ruins.
In good weather you can anchor on the south side for a stroll ashore or swim stop. Kameriye is ideal for a lunchtime anchorage, but close by are many other great bays to overnight in such as Sailor’s Paradise or Dirsek Bay.

Kameriye Island will turn into a ‘marriage island’ for Christians when works are done. The Marmaris Trade Center (MTO) initiated a project in 2010 to restore the church and open it for faith and marriage tourism. The project titled “Five Pieces of Gold,” was approved by the Provincial Special Administration last February. The restitution and restoration projects of the church were also approved by the Muğla Cultural and Heritage Preservation Board.
MTO Chairman said that the restoration works of the project were set to start soon. He said that a team including experts of the Provincial Culture and Tourism Directorate and Muğla Council of Monuments made observations about the history, architectural structure of Kameriye Island and gathered information about similar churches to create a database for the restoration project.
1,800-Year-Old Greek Orthodox Church, which is reached by a 20-minute boat trip from Bozburun, is being visited by lots of tourists in the summer months, particularly Orthodox tourists. Some tourists, who join daily boat tours, take a break on the island and light candles in a chapel named “Ruined Church.” Also, some tourists make a wish by tying pieces of cloth to the tree in front of the church.
All the trees on the island have been converted into a ‘wish tree’, covered with pieces of cloths. During the season, almost 1,000 visitors come here every day. Years ago, somebody tied a cloth to a centuries-old olive tree and everybody else continued to do so, with hopes that their wishes will come true. That olive tree is much older than the church. The church was built much later but it is in a grim situation, everything in it has been plundered

TURKEY: Ölüdeniz boat trip & Butterfly Valley [HD]
Boat trip along the Turkish coast: Ölüdeniz - Butterfly Valley - Aquarium Bay - St. Nicholas Island - Cold Spring Bay - Camel Beach.
Departure: 10:00 AM. Return: 5:00 PM.
Butterfly Valley (near Faralya village) is a remote canyon to the south, on the sea-shore, with some rare butterflies (no, I haven't seen one) and waterfall. Its name comes from a large swarm of endemic butterflies, the habitat of which is near the waterfalls on the canyon wall furthest from the sea.
Gemiler Island (nickname: St. Nicholas Island) has the remains of several churches built between the fourth and sixth centuries AD, along with a variety of associated buildings. Archaeologists believe it was the location of the original tomb of Saint Nicholas.
We booked the trip through Hamish McTurk Tours, Ölüdeniz:
I liked the smaller cruise boat: less people and less (very) loud music.

Turkish Food Tour in Istanbul - BEST Kebabs of My Life, AMAZING Seafood, and Turkish Ice Cream!
►Check out my Istanbul Travel Food Guide:
►Subscribe to my videos:
►Camera gear I use:
The first thing we did in the morning in Istanbul was drive over to Beşiktaş to eat an amazing Turkish food breakfast at a restaurant called Çakmak Kahvaltı Salonu. From there we took the ferry across the Bosphorus to Kadiköy, where we had an incredible Turkish seafood meal for lunch. Finally, we enjoyed some Turkish ice cream, and the show, and had the most incredible kebab I’ve ever had in my life at Zübeyir Ocakbaşı Restaurant. It was an amazing day of Turkish food in Istanbul!
1:27 Turkish breakfast at Çakmak Kahvaltı Salonu - For breakfast we headed to Beşiktaş, one of my favorite areas of Istanbul, and went to a restaurant known for serving breakfast. The breakfast was amazing, and I ate a dish of eggs with beef and butter. The side dishes were also fantastic. Total price - 29 TL ($9.73)
7:40 Boat to Kadiköy and Kadiköy Market - During our trip so far to Istanbul, we hadn’t had a chance to go to the Asian side of Istanbul. So today, we took the ferry over to Kadiköy pier on the Asian side across the Bosphorus. The views of Istanbul from the Bosphorus were stunning. On the other side, the main thing I wanted to do was explore Kadiköy Market, which was every bit as colorful as I had imagined. The fresh vegetables and seafood were fantastic, and I tried a cup of pickle juice.
1 Week Ago in Mumbai:
12:45 Seafood lunch at Balıkçı Lokantası Restaurant - Of all the meals I ate in Istanbul, this was one of my personal favorites, being a seafood lover. Not a far walk from the market, we went to a local family run seafood restaurant called Balıkçı Lokantası Restaurant. The owners were really friendly, and I ordered a plate of hamsi (which are anchovies), and I’m not sure of the name of the other dish, but I got Black Sea salmon braised in olive oil and butter I think with herbs and spices. It was one of the best Turkish foods I ate the entire trip to Istanbul. Wow, it was amazing.
20:50 Turkish Ice Cream - After spending some time exploring the Asian side of Istanbul, we took the ferry back to the European side, and since Istiklal Street was on our route, we stopped to have Turkish ice cream. You also see Turkish ice cream vendors playing with their customers, but when you’re the victim, it’s so confusing and funny. They have some serious skills playing with Turkish ice cream. Do you like Turkish ice cream?
23:49 Zübeyir Ocakbaşı Restaurant - For our final Turkish food meal of the day, we headed over to Zübeyir Ocakbaşı Restaurant. Ocakbaşı is a type of Turkish grill, and they served all sorts of different meat included kebabs and lamb chops in particular. We also got a bunch of side dishes and they cooked the kebabs and lamb chops right in front of us within the center of the restaurant. The kebab was the best I’ve ever had in my mouth, with an amazing mixture of minced meat and spices. Total price - 100 TL ($33.55). Thank you to David from for the recommendation.

Turkey: Tourists storm luxury stores amid Turkey's currency collapse
Subscribe to our channel! rupt.ly/subscribe
Scores of tourists were seen queuing at luxury stores like Louis Vuitton in Istanbul, trying to reap the benefits of the Turkish lira crisis, footage filmed on Monday shows.
A financial shockwave shook Turkey on Friday, when its currency tumbled more than 16 percent amid the ongoing diplomatic row between Ankara and Washington over the arrest of Pastor Andrew Brunson.
On the same day, Trump announced the doubling of tariffs on steel and aluminium imports from Turkey, in protest over the detention of Brunson.
The pastor was arrested two years ago over alleged links to the outlawed Kurdish PKK party and to the Fetullah Gulen movement, which Turkey claims was behind the 2016 attempted coup.

Trip to Turkey in one minute (Izmir, Istanbul) September 2015
Here's a video from the trip that changed my life. Three years ago in September 2015 for the first time in my life, I tried hitchhiking. It did not happen in Ukraine, it happened in unknown to me Turkey. I hitchhiked from Istanbul to Izmir (around 475 km) and back to Istanbul.
Now after three years, many things changed in my life. Since that memorable moment, I have been in 35 countries and hitchhiked
about 42 thousand km.
Do you remember your first travel abroad? What country it was?
Marmaris Turkey
Marmaris is a port city and a tourist destination on the Mediterranean coast, located in southwest Turkey, in the Muğla Province.
Marmaris' main source of income is tourism. While little is left of the sleepy fishing village that Marmaris was just a few decades ago after a construction boom in the 1980s, Marmaris still retains its charm due to the exceptional natural beauty of its location. The district's population is 18 000 (2005) and is estimated to reach 300,000 - 400,000 people during the tourism season, when the flow of people reaches critical levels. Marmaris' nightlife rivals anything on the Turkish coast.
It is also a major centre for sailing, possessing two major and several smaller marinas. It is a popular wintering location for hundreds of cruising boaters. There are regular ferry services to the Greek island of Rhodes, and large cruise ships call at the port.
Sedir Island Marmaris Turkey
Sedir Island also known as Cleopatra Island is one of the most important touristic places to see near Marmaris. sland. According to legend around 3000 years ago the King of Egypt Antonius having learnt that Cleopatra has accepted his proposal to marry him, wants to give a present to Cleopatra as a result of his excitement and brings sand from Egypt with 60 large ships to the island where he wishes to spend his honeymoon with Cleopatra. The grains of the sand each being smaller than 1 millimetre are all of uniform in size. This special sand known to have existed on Earth only at two other places has properties of setting alight when heated by an external source, increasing in quantity when immersed in soda water and moving when examined under a magnifying glass. The sand which develops by the accumulation of carbonate mud over its core adds an exceptionally beautiful colour to the sea, and is one of the other features of the island's attractions. Sand with similar properties is also known to exist in the Red Sea.
In order to protect the sand a variety of measures have been taken especially as the foreign tourists are visiting the island with much interest.
Covered with olive trees on the island, in addition to its natural beauty, there are the remains of the agora, the theatre and the ancient harbour from the Hellenistic and Roman periods. Works and artefacts found dating back 1000 BC from the Dorr, Persian and Roman periods together with the ancient theatre are amongst the other factors that attract the tourists to the island.
