Delhi Food Walks takes you winding through the streets of Old Agra City. When in Agra, one always visits the Taj Mahal, but we take you to all the tasty food joints that one must visit.
A visit to Agra is incomplete without tasting the delectable foods in the streets of the Old City. We tried quite a wide variety of dishes and of course the famous Agra ka Petha.
Our trip was made even better, thanks to our lovely host Tahir Bhai ( Insta- Agra_heritage_walks) . The food walk in Agra is worth it. So if ever you visit the Taj, do take a walk down the lanes of Agra and chow down these scrumptious dishes!

Agra Night Food Tour I Indian Street Food I Papite ke lachcha
The Old City of Agra is bustling with a huge number of food joints in the evening. It is the perfect breakfast destination in the morning and the ideal munch-town in the evening as well. We went around the lanes of Old City searching for some super tasty and super unique dishes.
We discovered food joints that have been there for quite a long time and yet the food that you get at these places is iconic. But the highlight of the walk was definitely the variety of sweet shops and distinct types of sweets. It is definitely a paradise for all sweet-lovers out there. But despite the amount of sweet shops, we still found our way to some mouthwatering meat dishes. The food in Agra is absolutely scrumptious. There were so many places serving different types of cuisines and dishes, and none of them were even a tad bit disappointing.
We are thankful to the Food Gods for giving us places like Agra, which is truly an epicurean delight. And of course, a BIG Thank You to our Host and Dost Tahir Bhai, for making this food journey a truly epic one!

Agra City Guide | Taj Mahal Travel Video in Uttar Pradesh, India Video Transcript:
Well good morning good morning. Today we are in Agra (आगरा). How excited are you? Super excited. I mean 'hey guess what' there is a little kind of tiny attraction here we might be visiting. Maybe the Taj Mahal (ताजमहल). The Taj Mahal (ताजमहल) is actually closed on Fridays and we didn't realize that until we got here. So we can't visit today but instead we're going to visit Agra Fort (आगरा का किला). Yeah. And maybe the Baby Taj Mahal. Yeah, and the good news is that I've actually been to Agra (آگرہ) before and I've been to Agra Fort (आगरा का किला) and it is one of the most impressive I've ever visited in India. If this fort was outside of Agra (आगरा) it would be a standalone attraction in another city. So we're going to go check that out today and maybe check out the Taj from across the river. And then we have to buy tickets for the Taj. Right so busy day actually. Let's begin.
Agra Fort (आगरा का किला) is a UNESCO World Heritage Site that draws big numbers, especially on a Friday when the Taj is closed. Admission to Agra Fort (आगरा का किला) is through the Amar Singh Gate, which is the south gate. Outside the gates you’ll find guides offering their services, so that’s something you can keep in mind if you’re looking to learn about the fort’s history and architecture.
So we've been getting all of these like teaser views of the Taj. Last night we had it during dinner and today we have this. And I think we're going to get one more vantage point later on in the day. And then finally tomorrow we actually visit it.
Once you walk through a series of gates, you’ll find yourself in a giant complex of marble palaces, inner courtyards and gardens, complete with wild monkeys running along the fort’s walls.
You also get some pretty cool views of the Taj Mahal (ताजमहल) off in the distance - but we’ll show you an even better lookout point later in this video.
The Taj Mahal (ताजमहल) was built by Shah Jahan as a memorial for his third wife, Mumtaz Mahal, who died giving birth to their 14th child in 1631. He wrote that the beauty of the structure made “the sun and the moon shed tears from their eyes”, and while I may not have shed a tear, it’s a sight that did not disappoint.
So we made it to the Baby Taj Mahal (Tomb of I'timād-ud-Daulah - اعتماد الدولہ کا مقبر).
So our last stop of the day is the Mehtab Gardens (मेहताब बाग़ - مہتاب باغ,) which are directly behind the Taj Mahal (ताजमहल) so you get some pretty cool views.
so that is a wrap from Agra (आगरा).
This is part of our Travel in India video series showcasing Indian food, Indian culture and Indian cuisine.

INDIA: EXPLORING AGRA'S fascinating & colourful KINARI BAZAAR
SUBSCRIBE: - Let's go to the busy city of Agra in India and let's walk around the narrow streets behind Jama Masjid which are a crazy maze of overcrowded lanes bursting with colourful markets. There are a number of different bazaars here, each specialising in different wares, but the area is generally known as Kinari Bazaar as many of the lanes fan out from Kinari Bazaar Rd. You’ll find clothing, shoes, fabrics, jewellery, spices, marble work, snack stalls and what seems like 20 million other people.
Amazingly, there is somehow room for buffaloes and even the odd working elephant to squeeze their way through the crowds. Even if you’re not buying anything, just walking the streets is an experience in itself.

AGRA INDIA | Where To Go OTHER THAN Taj Mahal
On our last day in Agra we decided to check out other things to do that isn't the Taj! One of them is stunning and offers amazing views over the city, Definitely a must do when in Agra.
*** Agra Fort is a historical fort in the city of Agra in India. It was the main residence of the emperors of the Mughal Dynasty until 1638, when the capital was shifted from Agra to Delhi. Before capture by the British, the last Indian rulers to have occupied it were the Marathas. It had been used by the early mughal rulers. The Fort stands on an ancient site and was traditionally known as Badalgarh. It was captured by Ghaznavi for some time but in the 15th century A.D. the Chauhan Rajputs occupied it. Soon after, Agra assumed the status of capital when Sikandar Lodi (A.D. 1487-1517) shifted his capital from Delhi and constructed a few buildings in the pre-existing Fort at Agra. After the first battle of Panipat (A.D. 1526) Mughals captured the fort and ruled from it. In A.D. 1530, Humayun was crowned in it. The Fort got its present appearance during the reign of Akbar (A.D. 1556-1605) ***
