John Balance – vocoder/vocalizer on “Amethyst Deceivers,” harmonizer on “I Am the Green Child,” metal sheet percussion on “Constant Shallowness Leads to Evil”.
Peter “Sleazy” Christopherson – synths, backing vocals on “Blood from the Air”.
Thighpaulsandra.
Simon Norris (Ossian Brown).
Tom Edwards – marimba.
Pierce Wyss – performer.
John Contreras – performer.
“Constant Shallowness Leads to Evil” phase.
This was Pierce Wyss’ first show with Coil; Massimo Villani apparently hadn’t entered the picture just yet, according to Claus Laufenburg. He, along with John Contreras, a cellist, were the naked, blood-covered male performers that came out with flowers towards the end of the show.
A German announcer introduces Coil. Apparently he says something like: “Finally, it is time. You all waited a long time in front of the stage, and so many…Simply enjoy what’s happening on stage right now. Exclusively tonight…Coil.”
As “Something” begins, John says, “I dedicate this concert to the moon, to the art of lunacy and magick, to the stag of the cabbages. I dedicate this concert to the moon.”
Before “Constant Shallowness Leads to Evil,” John says “This next song’s dedicated to Rose and Robert and to my friend in Thailand Mr. Bee. ‘Constant Shallowness Leads to Evil.’” Rose is Rose McDowall and Robert was her then-husband Robert Lee. Robert Lee’s band Sorrow, with Rose McDowall as a special guest, had played right before Coil at the concert.
Following the closing words from John at the end of the gig, which were “This was moon musick; this was magickal music. Thank you,” Thighpaulsandra continued with an apparently impromptu synth jam. It resembles “Beige, “Lowest Common Abominator,” and “Freebase Chakra” off of Constant Shallowness Leads to Evil.
