(Behind the Scenes) The Outskirts - Baguio / Sagada / Banaue
Here are some BTS (Behind the Scenes) clips I took during our Baguio - Sagada - Banaue 7-day adventure.
The first part is a short interview with an (Ifugao) Igorot. The succeeding parts are short clips during our tour in Sagada, and some view decks in Banaue.
There are also scenes that showcase the Bomod-ok waterfalls, Banaue Rice Terraces, Bangaan and Aguid Rice Terraces, Sagada Mining, Echo Valley, The Hanging Coffins of Sagada, Lumiang Cave and Sumaging Cave connection, NAIA International Airport, and Lumbia - Cagayan de Oro National Airport.

KIDS Trip - Sagada
KIDS 'Kolektiv Ideas Design Studio' Conquered Sagada
Sagada 2019 (February 23-25)
One of our colleague is flying to Singapore for work and we can never let him leave without a send off trip party and It is our most awaited trip we had planned.
Our original itinerary is to trek Bomod-ok Falls, Spelunking in Sumaguing Cave and witness the sunrise at Marlboro Hills. Given that it’s the long weekend, we became spontaneous and had fun while we adjust our itinerary on the go.
Here’s our itinerary schedule:
Feb 22-23 at 10 pm
We left our office and started our way to Sagada. We had stopovers at Lakeshore Nlex and Baguio before we proceed to our last leg of our trip. We chose Halsema Highway to cut our trip shorter but at around 3 AM, good thing we decided to sleep at the Highest Point wherein we had observed the magical sunrise and sea of clouds with Mt. Pulag in the background.
Back on track, we headed to Rock Inn and Cafe, Sagada to check in. Most of our afternoon we toured around the town since almost all of the tours are fully booked already and slept the night away after our long winding drive.
Feb 24 at 8 am
Bomod-ok Falls
We woke up early to make up for the time lost. We went straight to the municipality to book for the Bomod-ok Falls tour and without breakfast, we were given the ride and headed straight to the jump off point at Barangay Bangaan to meet up with our guide.
We hiked down through Brgy. Bangaan, Brgy. Fidelesan and Aguid Rice Terraces before we have reached Bomod-ok Falls. Amidst the Sagada cold weather, the breeze from the falls felt refreshing after the long walk. Marching our way back to the top, as i believe that there’s no perfect trip, one of us had collapsed going back up to the jump off point. We had to slow down to recover and finally we were back.
Lunch at 12 noon
We ate lunch at Masferre Country Inn and Restaurant. Here, our taste buds were awaken by their food as the bang they deliver was the taste we all have learned and loved to eat be it in Manila or Bulacan. And we decided to come back and eat dinner in the same place.
Sumaguing Cave at 1pm
After lunch we booked our Sumaguing tour at the Municipal Hall but to no avail, all guides were stuck in the cave and we were advised to go straight in the cave so we can queue and wait for guides to exit the cave. We arrived in the registration, queued and our call time was 3:15, so we decided to entertain ourselves on the side streets of the cave. After almost 3 hours of wait, it’s finally our turn!!! The normal 1.5 hours spelunking inside the cave, ours became 4. It was like queueing for a roller coaster ride that was never ending. Nonetheless, it was mostly a first for most of us to repel up and down the caves and everything we did was still worth the wait.
Feb 25. At 8am
On our last day, we just ate breakfast at Rock Inn and Cafe - their breakfast was good! - and started our descent to be back early in Bulacan. On our way back, we stopped over at the Banaue Rice Terraces Viewpoint to see the famous printed Rice Terraces on our 20 peso bill and it was a breathtaking view! We bought some souvenirs and headed back on our way. We reached our office at around 830 - 9 PM.
This was a really memorable trip for all of us and the best send off party we ever have planned!
Good Luck Jazer!
