Naval Air Station Oceana Air Park Photo Gallery - July 20, 2013
Naval Air Station Oceana Air Park Photo Gallery
Naval Air Station Oceana
Virginia Beach, Virginia
Saturday July 20, 2013
With the help of one of my friends (who also appears in the video), we were able to visit the air park located within Naval Air Station Oceana, adjacent to the
Officer's Club. All photos are unedited and may appear out of order. This park is not open to the public, but if you had the ability to visit NAS Oceana with a
sponsor (or visit with a friend in the military with a military ID) you will be able to visit this air park. These jets also get repainted regularly, and to be honest,
I don't remember the story and tradition on who gets to paint which jets, so it is possible that some or all of these jets will get featured in a subsequent
photo set in different markings.

I apologize for the quality of the video. This video was originally sized at 160x120 pixels and converted to 320x240 pixels and converted from Real Media format to Windows Media Video format, so that it could be uploaded. You will also see a pause between some clips, as all of the clips were combined in the process of conversion, and I do apologize for that.

Melania Trump AMAZING Speech at Langley Air Force Base
The first lady of the United States has thanked U.S. service members at a military base in Virginia for their efforts.
Flanked by two F-22 Raptor stealth fighter jets, Melania Trump spoke to a crowd Wednesday inside a hangar at Joint Base Langley-Eustis in Hampton.
She noted that many in the crowd had just returned home from deployment. Some had been responding to natural disasters such as Hurricane Michael.
Trump said she was honored to welcome them home and thanked them for answering the call of duty.
The first lady high-fived children from local elementary schools and spoke to a young girl in a wheelchair. She also got a close-up view of an F-22.
The base serves the U.S. Army and the Air Force.

We believe that many of our rights and civil liberties as American citizens on American soil are at great risk and that a simple act of civil disobedience has the power to effect great change. While we have no interest or intention in breaking any law, we are willing to stand up for freedom and the constitution at any time and at any place and do so in a responsible and productive manner. It is our goal to create free and open discussion whenever possible in an effort to educate both ourselves and anyone with a desire to learn. A well known rule of government is that ignorance is no excuse for the law. It is our stand that we as Americans have been either uninformed or misinformed regarding our laws and rights for far too long. We are not attorneys or scholars, however we have been involved in professional photography for over 30 years and have had our rights and freedoms challenged more times than we can remember. No one group or person has the ability to effect change across the board, however we are committed to doing our part by continuing to stand up for our constitutional right to free press and the right to take photographs and video in public. All donations will be used exclusively to further this cause. Specifically, we need to upgrade our computer, video editing software and purchase additional video gear. We want to thank you in advance for your support of what we do and want you to know that we are committed to working harder than ever to defend our rights, your rights and the Freedom to Film in Public!!

Hampton traces over 400 years of influence on our nation’s history. Fort Monroe National Monument plays a large part in this history as the origin and endpoint of slavery with the first recorded Africans to English North America in 1619, and the Contraband Decision during the Civil War in 1861. After the war, historic Hampton University was established to provide an education to newly-freed slaves and area Native Americans.
This video is part of the American Evolution's Virginia to America series focusing on travels all over Virginia highlighting the people, places, and stories that have shaped 400 years of America’s history. americanevolution2019.com

Billy Mitchell
William Billy Mitchell was a United States Army general who is regarded as the father of the United States Air Force.
Mitchell served in France during World War I and, by the conflict's end, commanded all American air combat units in that country. After the war, he was appointed deputy director of the Air Service and began advocating increased investment in air power, believing that this would prove vital in future wars. He argued particularly for the ability of bombers to sink battleships and organized a series of bombing runs against stationary ships designed to test the idea.

Practice Show Performance
2005 AirPower Over Hampton Roads
Langley AFB, Virginia
Friday May 13, 2005
IN THIS VIDEO, watch as the Thunderbirds fly a practice show performance over the skies of Langley AFB. The 2005 show was the first time I had seen the Thunderbirds perform at Langley AFB for both Saturday and Sunday (they only performed on Saturday in 2002 and then went to Pittsburgh for Sunday and in 2004, only performed on Sunday, as I believe they were at Charleston AFB, SC on Saturday that year).

Atlantic Shores - Hurricane Evacuation Drill (WAVY)
VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) -- A local retirement community teamed up with local, state and federal agencies to practice hurricane evacuations just in time for the season.
Atlantic Shores Retirement Community volunteered residents and staff to train with FEMA and Eastern Virginia Healthcare Coalition officials and Air National Guard airmen.
“Working together is very important. We’ve all seen in Texas and Louisiana how bad things can get. It’s very important to avoid those types of issues here in Virginia Beach and Hampton Roads,” said Glenn McBride, who is the regional health care coordinator for the Eastern Virginia Health Coalition.
McBride said this is the first year in a while that a group in the state has participated in FEMA’s Vigilant Guard.
It’s an exercise practiced throughout the country.
This drill took a year to prepare.
Staff checked vitals for residents, who were given fake identities and medical conditions.
Those residents were taken to a waiting area where the Air National Guard took over those roles and waited for the Army Reserve to fly in.
