This video starts around 1:08 AM as Nicole will tell you. We took a bus from Keflavik to Reykjavik with just our luggage and no plans. We found a taxi that took us to a suitable lodging for our first night under the midnight sun, June 22, 2011.

Airport is linked by buses taxis and rental cars.

Rental Cars are close to the airport at a centre.

Down side is that you have to take a shuttle service where rental car centre. Often busy and only one bus shuttle between airport and rental centre.

I walked it is close by please be careful with traffic there is no direct walking route to the airport from Rental Centre.

I share my experience using the afforadble, comfortable transfer in my Flybus review. They even dropped me off and picked me up minutes from my hotel. Reykjavik Excursions Flybus is a great choice for any trip to Iceland.

B757 landing in Antarctica

This is a timelapse video from the captain of this flight to Union Glacier in Antarctica in 2015. The Icelandic Airline Loftleiðir Iceland made history when it landed a Boeing 757 on the Antarctic ice sheet, the local news site Vísir reports. This is the first time a Boeing commercial passenger jet lands in Antarctica. Previously the Royal New Zealand Air Force had landed a 757 in Antartica. Historically the transport planes have been Hercules L-282G and Ilyushin IL76-TD.

The entire crew of the plane was Icelandic, and this was also the first time an Icelandic airplane lands in Antarctica. Sixty passengers were on board the plane.

The purpose of the flight was to study whether traditional passenger jets could be used to fly passengers and cargo to Antarctica. The trip was made in collaboration with the tour company Antarctic Logistics & Expeditions, ALE, which specializes in trips to Antarctica. Annually the company takes 400-500 travellers to Antarctica.

TRIP REPORT | Wow Airlines Airbus A321 | Reykjavik/Keflavik - Baltimore/Washington (Economy)

Hello travelers!

This is a change from my usual GoPro montage productions, but I want to incorporate all types of travel and travel videos into this channel. This footage was from August 2016 when I flew home from my vacation in Iceland on WOW Air. I chose to fly WOW Air because I was wanting to plan a trip with my aunt, who has always wanted to go to Iceland, so once I saw that WOW Air was going to be offering direct flights from BWI to KEF, I took advantage of the opportunity. If I were to go back to Iceland, I would certainly fly WOW! While they do hit you with many additional charges, I believe that as long as you know what to expect beforehand, you will not be all too surprised at the airport. Definitely do your research on the airline if you plan on traveling with them, and calculate the costs as opposed to another airline, and as long as it's still economically practical and convenient, I say go for it! As for Iceland, it was a GREAT destination! There was not a GoPro video for this trip because I focused on still photography this trip, but it is truly a destination that should not be missed, especially if you're one who likes unspoiled nature. I would recommend it to anyone!

Boeing 787 Dreamliner forced landing in Reykjavik, Iceland

A Boeing 787 Dreamliner operated by Poland's LOT airline was forced to land at Keflavik airport near Reykjavik in Iceland on Sunday (September 29) when its airplane identification system malfunctioned, according to a spokeswoman for the airline.

Reuters reports, The plane was flying from Toronto to Warsaw when it was forced to land at the island's Keflavik airport, at Reykjavik.

'The aircraft had to land due to an air identification system fault. The Norwegian authorities have refused permission to fly over its territory, even though other countries gave permission to fly over theirs,' Barbara Pijanowska-Kuras said.

Boeing said the diversion resulted from an inoperative antenna used to transmit the plane's identification information during flight. Flight is allowed with the antenna not working, but requires air traffic controllers along the route to pre-approve the flight, Boeing said.

'LOT has already made the proper arrangements and parts and personnel are en route to address the issue and return the airplane to flight status,' Boeing spokesman Marc Birtel said in a statement sent to Reuters. 'Boeing stands ready to help if asked.'

The Dreamliner was expected to be a game-changer for the aviation industry, but there have been delays getting it into service and setbacks including the grounding of all the planes due to battery problems.
