Hong Kong Airport (HKK) to Airport Express Train to Downtown Hong Kong - Hong Kong
Arrival at Hong Kong International Airport (HKK). Short walk to baggage claim/terminal/currency exchange/Airport Express Train to downtown Hong Kong. Location:
Hong Kong International Airport (IATA: HKG, ICAO: VHHH) is the main airport in Hong Kong. It is located on the island of Chek Lap Kok, which largely comprises land reclaimed for the construction of the airport itself. The airport is also colloquially known as Chek Lap Kok Airport (赤鱲角機場), to distinguish it from its predecessor, the closed Kai Tak Airport (啟德機場).
The airport has been commercially operational since 1998, replacing the former Kai Tak Airport, and is an important regional trans-shipment centre, passenger hub and gateway for destinations in Mainland China (with 45 destinations) and the rest of Asia. The airport is the world's busiest cargo gateway and one of the world's busiest passenger airports.[4]
The Hong Kong International Airport is also home to one of the world's largest passenger terminal buildings (the largest when opened in 1998). Hong Kong International Airport is one of the busiest airports in Asia. Operated by the Airport Authority Hong Kong 24 hours a day, the airport is the primary hub for Cathay Pacific (the flag carrier of Hong Kong), Dragonair, Hong Kong Airlines, Hong Kong Express Airways and Air Hong Kong (cargo carrier). The airport is one of the hubs of Oneworld alliance, and it is also one of the Asian-Pacific cargo hubs for UPS Airlines.[1] It is a focus city for many airlines, including China Airlines (Taiwan), and China Eastern Airlines. Singapore Airlines, Ethiopian Airlines, and Air India use Hong Kong as a stopover point for the flights respectively.
HKIA is an important contributor to Hong Kong's economy, with approximately 65,000 employees. More than 100 airlines operate flights from the airport to over 180 cities across the globe. In 2014, HKIA handled 63.3 million passengers,[4] making it the 10th busiest airport worldwide by passenger traffic.[5] It also surpassed Memphis International Airport to become the world's busiest airport by cargo traffic.[6]
The Airport Express is one of the lines of the Mass Transit Railway (MTR) serving Hong Kong. It links the principal urban areas of Hong Kong to Hong Kong International Airport and the associated AsiaWorld–Expo exhibition and convention centre.
Although a part of the MTR system, the Airport Express is not primarily a rapid transit or metro line. Instead, it provides premium fare express service to and from the airport and exhibition centre every 10 minutes during daytime and night and every 12 minutes at midnight[clarification needed], using specially designed rolling stock intended to provide similar levels of comfort to that found on an airliner. The average maximum speed between stations is 130 kilometres per hour (81 mph).
The Airport Express line is the only rail link to the airport's terminal area. However, it is paralleled for most of its length by the Tung Chung Line, a more traditional rapid transit line. The Tung Chung line diverges from the Airport Express line just south of the channel between Lantau Island and Chek Lap Kok island (on which the airport was constructed), and terminates in the adjacent Tung Chung new town. From here bus links serve the various areas of the airport, including the passenger terminals.
The journey from Hong Kong Station to the airport takes 24 minutes. The line is coloured teal on MTR system maps.
Hong Kong (香港; Fragrant Harbour), officially known as Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People's Republic of China, is a special administrative region[9] located on the southern coast of China at the Pearl River Estuary and the South China Sea.[10] Hong Kong is well known for its expansive skyline, deep natural harbour and extreme population density (some seven million inhabitants over a land mass of 1,104 km2 (426 sq mi)).[11] The current population of Hong Kong comprises 93.6% ethnic Chinese.[5] A major part of Hong Kong's Cantonese-speaking majority originated from the neighbouring Guangdong province,[12] from where many fled during the Second Sino-Japanese War, the Chinese Civil War, and the communist rule in China.[13][14][15][16]
Limited flat land created a necessity for dense infrastructure, and the city became a centre of modern architecture, earning Hong Kong the title as one of the world's most vertical cities.[23][dead link][24] Hong Kong has a highly developed public transportation network covering 90 percent of the population, the highest rate in the world, and it relies on mass transit by road or rail.[25][26] Air pollution remains a serious problem.[27][28] Loose emissions standards have resulted in a high level of atmospheric particulates.[29]

Airport Express MTR ride to Hong Kong International Airport
After Checking in my Luggage at the Hong Kong Express Station on Hong Kong Island, which is next to the 2 International Finance Centre,My Girlfriend and I took the Airport Express MTR ride to Hong Kong International Airport to catch my flight back to America. The stops includes :The Kowloon Station(International Commerce Centre,Legends Shopping Mall),Tsing Yi Station, and Finally, Hong Kong International Airport. The ride took 24 minutes from Hong Kong Island and i highly recommend using this method of transportation to get you to and from the airport. You can also check your luggage at Hong Kong and the Kowloon Stations to save even more time at the airport of standing in those long lines and go straight to your gate, which i highly recommend as well. This video was shot on November 1,2015.
