Escape to Kirishima Art No Mori!
In this video, we are showing you our little trip to Kirishima Art No mori, also known as Kirishima Open Air museum. It is a truly peaceful place when you can just relax and take your time, while walking and enjoying nature. It is pretty far, but worth the trip, I think.

Fantastic Places in Cool Japan :
There is a nature area where you can enjoy waterfalls, hot springs and the coast of Yakushima, where 90% of the 500 square kilometers are forests. That is the “Hirauchi and Kuryu District”. Let’s enjoy the nature of the southern country on the world heritage island, Yakushima.
The “Hirauchi and Kuryu districts” are located in the southern part of the island, and the sea is soft and you can enjoy the resort feeling in the transparent sea such as the underwater hot spring and tide pool.

This is a video I made of a Japan trip from Okinawa to Hokkaido! The video is made in the order the trip was done. I will leave here some details of the trip and the video!
The trip started in Tokyo 27th of march 2017 for 71 days.
My dream always was to travel Japan, but as I grew older, the way I wanted to know Japan changed a lot. First I just wanted to go there and see anything, then I wanted to see some special things, and then I started to dream about a South to North trip, I wanted to see all the different places of Japan because I heard from everyone about Kyoto and Tokyo all the time, but when I started researching I understood that there was A LOT more to see than just cities. I am a chef/baker, so I really wanted to try as many things as I could. I do agriculture, I like to camp, I like to walk in the woods, so I visited a lot of places that were really far away from the main tourist attractions, as well as many touristy places because some of them are worth it. We traveled by, plane, ferry, cargo ship, taxi, bus, bike, foot and hitchhiking. We worked in farms for 22 days along the way and got to live with some very special people for some days.
Special thanks to Kayo Kamo, Café Cockapoo, Miyazaki!! and Eiji and Mayumi in Ida!!!
The biggest adventure was getting to Yakushima. From Kagoshima station 1 hour and a half bus to the dock, 12 hours ferry in the night with a layover. Bus 1 hour into the forests from the docks of Yakushima, 7 hour walk up the mountain to see Jomon Sugi, a 7000 year old tree. 6 hours walk down the mountain to take a bus back to town and sleep, a well deserved sleep. It was a dream come true to be in a cargo ship in the morning after sleeping and looking at the Island getting bigger as you close in. Nature and energy in every inch of the forests of this beautiful place.
Next I will put a list of some of the places and cities we visited:
Narita, Tokio, Naha and Nago (Okinawa), Tokashiki (Okinawa, Islas Kerama), Kagoshima, Yakushima, Kirishima, Yoshinomotocho, Miyakonojo, Miyazaki, Udo, Takachiho, Amanoiwato, Kumamoto, Yamaguchi, Akiyoshidai, Hiroshima, Miyajima, Nishiawakura, Tottori, Onomichi-Imabari (Shimanami Kaido), Himeji, Kyoto, Takao, Hikone, Kanazawa, Takayama, Shirakawago, Toyama, Kurobe, Nagano, Iida, Matsumoto, Nikko, Sendai, Yamadera, Onuma, Sapporo, Tokio, Kamakura, Enoshima, Yokohama, Kawaguchiko, Mitaka.
I am sorry that at the end of the video in the parts of Tohoku and Hokkaido there isn’t much material, by the time we got to Sendai we were late for the schedule we had planned and in Hokkaido we were out of season for most of the things to see and do there and everything was very very far away by train. I will do another trip for Hokkaido, Tohoku and Shikoku.

I take photos of the volcano Sakurajima every morning.
Everyday the mountain has different appearances and beautiful contrast with surrounding Kagoshima Bay.
The eruption alert has been 4 (preparing for evacuation ) since 15 August. I hope evacuees can return home as soon as possible.

STORYLINE
An Indonesian volcano that was quiet for four centuries shot a new, powerful burst of hot ash more than 10-thousand feet (three kilometres) into the air on Friday, sending frightened residents fleeing to safety for the second time this week.
The tremor from the eruption - the strongest so far - could be felt five miles (eight kilometres) away.
The eruption of Mount Sinabung on Sunday and Monday - which caught many scientists off guard - forced 30-thousand people living along its fertile slopes in North Sumatra province to evacuate to cramped emergency shelters in nearby towns.
Wearing surgical masks to protect themselves from the smoky air, many have complained about the steadily deteriorating conditions, from poor sanitation and short food supplies to having to sleep on hard, cold floors.
Tired of waiting, thousands of people started returning to the mountainside earlier this week so they could clean up their soot-covered homes and salvage what they could from their vegetable farms and rice paddies.
But several hours before Friday's pre-dawn blast, a new alert was issued.
Some people trudged back down the slopes, carrying blankets, clothes and food.
A handful of others insisted on staying, even after the new explosion, which caused the entire mountain to violently tremble for five minutes.
The air was thick with the smell of sulfur and, despite a soft drizzle, heavy smoke limited visibility to just a few yards (metres).
Some small domestic flights had to be diverted, according to a transportation ministry's spokesman.
International air travel was unaffected.
Mount Sinabung had last erupted in 1600, and government vulcanologists acknowledged they had made no efforts before the mountain started rumbling last week to sample gases or look out for rising magma or other signs of seismic activity.
They claimed they were too busy with more than 129 active volcanoes in Indonesia, a seismically charged region because of its location on the so-called Ring of Fire - a series of fault lines stretching from the Western Hemisphere through Japan and Southeast Asia.
They said from now on they will be watching it very closely.
There are fears that current activity could foreshadow a much more destructive explosion in a few weeks or months, though it is possible that the mountain will go back to sleep after letting off steam.
The archipelago nation has recorded some of the largest eruptions in history.
The 1815 explosion of Mount Tambora buried the inhabitants of Sumbawa Island under searing ash, gas and rock, killing an estimated 88-thousand people.
The 1883 eruption of Krakatoa could be heard two-thousand miles (3,200 kilometres) away and blackened skies region-wide for months.
At least 36-thousand people were killed in the blast and the tsunami that followed.

Yakushima
Yakushima is one of the Ōsumi Islands belonging to Kagoshima Prefecture, Japan. The island, 504.88 km² in area, has a population of 13,178. Access to the island is by hydrofoil ferry, slow car ferry, or by air to Yakushima Airport. Administratively, the whole island is the town of Yakushima. The town also serves neighbouring Kuchinoerabujima. The majority of the island is within the borders of the Kirishima-Yaku National Park.
Yakushima's electricity is more than 50% hydroelectric, and surplus power has been used to produce hydrogen gas in an experiment by Kagoshima University. The island has been a test site for Honda's hydrogen fuel cell vehicle research.

Volcanic Ash falling in Johnstone, UK
Well, I was sitting at my desk minding my own business doing some mixing and other bits and bobs and just happen to look out of the window here at MTG Towers and couldn't believe what I was seing - bits of ash gathering in the sky with bits just breaking off....... an amazing sight. I must say it is a welcomed sight as MTG Towers sits right on the Glasgow airport flight path so we have been enjoying a few days of peace and quie - however I do feel for the peopel who had booked holidays and flights.
Now I know that you may be watching this and say..... Andy, come on, it's clouds bud, but it really is ash, the cars were getting a light glittering of the dust which was a sort of light browny red colour.
For those of you who do stay in countries where Volcanoes are common then this vid will be of no surprise to you - but in the UK, this is very much an unseen occurance.
