A Tour of Hobart CBD, March 2019
On my second trip to Hobart and Tasmania in general, I delve into the compact central business in more detail. Beginning at the visitor's centre on the corner of Elizabeth and Davey St, we explore Elizabeth St Mall, and walk along various inner city streets such as Macquarie, Collins and Murray St, go through Salamanca Place, the waterfront area, and the old warehouse district around Hunter Place. Hobart is a small city that's big on charm, and has preserved more historic buildings per capita than any other Australian capital. A walkable city that's a joy to explore.
Hobart Airport familiarisation tour with Autism Tasmania
As a high sensory environment, the journey through an airport can be quite a challenge for some passengers.
During Airport Safety Week we were thrilled to be able to partner with Autism Tasmania, Virgin Australia and Swissport to give five families the opportunity to have a ‘practice run’ ahead of their upcoming holidays.
Participants walked through the entire airport journey, from check in to boarding the aircraft and finding their seat, giving them a better understanding of what to expect when they travel.

Hobart Airport Road Network Changes
Our forecourt works are nearing completion, with significant changes to the way you pick up and drop off passengers now in place.
Drivers will now follow Holyman Avenue, pass under the gantry and turn right into our new dual lane drop off/pick up area.
SkyBus and taxis will continue to pick up and drop off outside our Arrivals area on Addison Drive.
Ride share will pick up and drop off in the commercial zone of our new drop off/pick up area.

Buses at Shoreline Central Shopping Centre - Hobart Transport
In this video we visit Shoreline Central, a placed depicted on the Hobart bus network maps as being a major bus interchange. In reality though it's literally just a bus stop with some shelters, not as big as you would expect...
The bus stop here serves Shoreline Central Shopping Centre in the suburb of Howrah on Hobart's eastern shore. The interchange is home to a large number of bus routes and is the eastern terminus of Hobart's 'go zone', where multiple bus routes run a combined timetable to offer frequent off-peak service between here and Hobart city. On weekdays this allows for a bus every 10 minutes off-peak towards the city.
In the video we see a variety of different buses including ancient Scania N113CRB high floors, Scania L94UB's, Scania K230UB's, Scania K280UB's and the new Bustech XDi's.
Shoreline Central is an interesting shopping centre; it's the only one I've ever been in that has carpets! Wow!

Tigerair Melbourne - Hobart 737-800 Trip Report
In this video we take a flight on Tigerair on flight TT501; an early morning flight from Melbourne (Victoria) to Hobart (Tasmania). This flight was on Boeing 737-800 VH-VUD, which was delivered in 2004.
We start the video at Melbourne Airport's terminal 4; the airport's newest and the dedicated 'budget' terminal. We have a quick look around before eventually boarding the plane. After looking at my seat (8F) and its perks we takeoff on runway 27 and make a left turn south towards Hobart.
I then decide to have a quick inflight meal before the plane eventually lands in Hobart on time. We then have a quick look at Hobart airports' arrivals area before taking the new Skybus service to Hobart city.
This was my first flight on Tigerair and I was thoroughly impressed with the service on the 737-800 (scratched window aside). I'd definitely fly them again if the need arose.
This is also my first trip report/flight review video. I'd appreciate any feedback as I have to do a couple more of these videos into the future.

Buses at Rosny Park Interchange - Hobart Transport
In this video we visit Rosny Park Interchange, a major bus interchange situated on Hobart's eastern shore, served by 19 different routes. Here we see a variety of different Metro buses including Scania K230UB's, Scania K360UA's, Scania L94UB's, some ancient Scania N113CRB high floors, and some Bustech XDi's, the newest type of bus in the fleet.
Rosny Park is the main administrative and commercial centre on Hobart's eastern shore, being home to shops, offices and Eastlands Shopping Centre; the largest in the state with over 100 stores (which is tiny compared to some of the large shopping centres on the mainland, but this is a state of only 526,700 after all... Fun fact: if you fit all of Tasmania's population into Adelaide, you wouldn't have enough people to fill up even half of the city.)
