Background:
Chiang Mai Zoo & Aquarium is a 200-acre (81 ha) zoo located on 100 Huay Kaew Road, Chiang Mai, Thailand, just north of Chiang Mai University. It is the first commercial zoo in Northern Thailand, and was established on 16 June 1977.

In 1950 the U.S government sent military advisers to train tribal police along the border of Thailand. Among them was Harold Mason Young, son of American missionaries, who had been born in Burma. Young started helping injured animals, and his collection started getting visitors. The Chiang Mai provincial government set aside 24 acres (9.7 ha) at the base of Suthep Mountain, and the facility was opened to the public in 1957.[1][3]

When Young died in 1974, the property was taken over by Chiang Mai province. The zoo was expanded to its current 200 acres (81 ha), transferred to the Zoological Park Organization under the patronage of the King of Thailand, and opened as the official zoo of Chang Mai province in 1977.[1][2]

This is mostly for the benefit of the others that were travelling with me from GAP Adventures. It is part of the hilltribe trek in the north, xmas day dinner in Kao Sok Natl Park, and Koh Tao Island is at the end. Excuse the music...I know its lame but I did this is a big hurry.

Our adventure through the amazing country of Thailand in April 2014. Shot on a GoPro Hero 3+ Black edition and iPhone 5s. We traveled to Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Phuket, Phi Phi Island, & Koh Samui. Some of the places we visited were the Mae Sa Elephant Camp, the Tiger Kingdom, Doi Suthep Temple, the Golden Buddha, & the Full Moon Party on Koh Phangan.

AJ in Switzerland: Lake Lucerne

Our main stop in Switzerland was a German-speaking town in the center of Switzerland called Lucerne.
The town flanked with beautiful mountains(Rigi and Pilates) and a big lake called Lake Lucerne.

Lucerne has cobbled streets with hardly had any cars so AJ got to run around. There were interesting water fountains
everywhere that looked different night and day.

Mommy said Lucerne is famous for its wooden bridge. Chapel bridge was built in the 14th century. Almost as old as Mommy!
But AJ thinks the other bridge is more fun - Spreuer especially at night.

We also walked to the Lion Monument. Mommy said it is in memory of brave soldiers during the French Revolution in 1792.
Lion is sleeping sshhhhh.

The big lake is so clear and has so many friendly swans. AJ likes seeing the swans.

AJ also saw some street performer singing. They sang so much better than Mommy.

From Lucerne AJ took a boat ride through the lake. The lake was big! Then we took a the Gotthard Express.
Mommy said it's the second highest train through the Alps. We took it all the way to Bellinzona for our next stop - Italy!


The whole family enjoyed Lucerne. The city was safe and clean.
The old town hardly had any cars so AJ was safe to roam around.
We even took a side trip to Mt Titlus. Our video here:
The tourist spots were the Lion Monument and Chapel Bridge.
But our favorite experiences were the street performers, farmer's market, fountains and gorgeous view.
For our next destination, we decided to take the scenic route by taking a boat across Lake Lucerne and a semi-historical train
through the alps via the Gotthard Panoramic Express.

Chiang Mai Zoo 2 | The Stoop!

Episode 2, the adventure continues, with 4 year old AJ and 2 year old Sophia Travelling with kids at Chiang Mai Zoo in Thailand.

Being good parents, can get testing.. especially when toddlers miss their midday sleep and test their boundaries at every opportunity. Today was a big day adventuring and travelling with kids. We were was really impressed they pulled it off!

This vlog is broken into 3 episodes. In this one we missed a pile of closed and under construction exhibits, but did get to see the gibbons, crocodiles, turtles, rhinoceros, elephants, seals and more.

My First Bungy Jump - Highest in Thailand - Pattaya XBungy - 4k HD

At - See more of my adventures on - Bungy Jumping is steeped in tradition and dates back to an ancient ritual that is performed in the village of Bunlap on Vannatu Island. The “Gkol” that is performed is a rite of passage for the tribesman and entails them Bungy Jumping using Banyan tree vines attached to their ankles. Inspired by this, the first modern era Bungy Jump was conducted by Oxford University Dangerous Sports Club on the 1st April 1979 at Clifton Suspension Bridge, Bristol, England. Members of the club jumped using shock cord instead of banyan tree vines whilst wearing top hat and tails. You can watch a video of this very first jump on youtube.

The enormous publicity form the stunt led to the club performing a second jump from the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco then a jump from the Royal George Suspension Bridge in Colorado.

All went quiet until the video was seen by New Zealander AJ Hackett who in June 1987 very publicly performed a Bungy Jump from the Eiffel Tower in Paris France. The key difference was AJ Hackett saw the opportunity to commercialize Bungy Jumping into an extreme sport by using rubber instead of shock cord and in November 1988 the Kawarau Bridge 43m Bungy Jump opened. During the first year AJ Hackett had just 28 customers.
In Thailand that year, Pattaya Bungy Jump opened with a jump 17m higher than the Kawarau Bridge Jump at 60m.

The Pattaya Bungy Jump was not only the first in South East Asia but still remains the highest Bungy Jump in Thailand today. Since 1989 the Bungy Jumping craze has exploded and there are now many thousands of Bungy Jumps worldwide all started from the humble beginnings in New Zealand and Thailand.

The safari has operated by Pinkanakorn Development Agency, subordinated to the Prime Minister's Office. The safari opened in 2006 at the same year with the Royal Flora Expo 2006 in order to promote Chiang Mai tourism. It is the second night safari of the world following the Night Safari in Singapore.
