Day of the Dead - Ajijic, Mexico cemetery
2012 Dia de los Muertos - Ajijic Cemetery
Day of the Dead celebrations in Ajijic Cemetery, November 2, 2012. In Mexico, families visit the cemetery on Dia de los Muertos to remember loved ones and honor ancestors. Gravesites are decorated and parties last into the night with music, singing, and picnics. Children play, dogs roam, and everywhere there are fragrant flowers, flickering candles, and paper flags blowing in the breeze. What a beautiful tradition, and such a difference from the US where I would never have considered wandering through a cemetery at night!
Ajijic, Mexico Vlog
We're learning Ajijic, Jalisco is MORE than a retirement community. Today we find MORE fun things near Lake Chapala.
►Learn Spanish like we do!
In today's travel vlog Mexico, we're going to a surprisingly diverse cactus garden in Ajijic, Jalisco. Maddie was shocked to see cacti in Ajijic that she had never seen in Arizona where she was born and raised.
For the first time ever, we include Spanish conversation in one of our videos (with subtitles, of course) and there's a Spanish fail as well....okay many Spanish fails.
Later, we check out our first Mexican cemetery in Ajijic. We are shocked at what we see compared to cemeteries in the US. Maddie shares the Mexican celebration she is most excited for this year.
Later, we attempt to recharge our Telcel plans. It was much more difficult than we anticipated, but we finally figure out the best solution for our problems with Telcel.
