It means ‘ wooden plank ‘ as in their famous wooden bridge ! It’s also famous for its Fireworks ( unfortunately not when we were there ...) There is this huge Buddha statue / temple and pond ( all at the JORENJI temple ) and this green house ( with small aquarium and biggest lobster alive ...!) called : AKATSUKA Botanical garden . A bit local but with great charm x
