LEADIN
For fruit lovers in India, June is a great month.
But it is also tinged with sadness as it is the end of the mango season.
STORYLINE
April to June is mango season in India.
It is the time to gorge on the most prized variety of the juicy fruit - the Alphonso, also known as Hapus.
Available in India at about 10 US dollars per dozen, it is also one of the most expensive mangoes to eat.
Hot, humid afternoons are punctuated by cries of haaapuuus floating through the streets of the city.
Hapus, pronounced with a silent h, is the mango that rules the palate around the world.
