Al-Abbas Holy Shrine honors Imam Hussein TV Group for their coverage of Arbaeen
The al-Abbas Holy Shrine honored the media bodies that participated in the broadcast of the Ziyarat Arba'een in the holy city of Karbala, during a ceremony held at the Hall of Imam Hassan Mujtaba (peace be upon him), in the presence of its Secretary General Eng. Mohammad Al-Ashigar and a number of its Board of Directors' members.
The ceremony began with the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran followed by the reading of Surat Al-Fatiha in tribute to the souls of the martyrs of Iraq, and then listening to the Iraqi national anthem and the anthem of the al-Abbas Holy Shrine.
Then Dr. Abbas Rasheed al-Moussawi delivered the speech of the General Secretariat of the al-Abbas Holy Shrine, in which he stated that the Holy Shrine aims by this tribute to honor the respected sincere media, to highlight the professional nobility and entrench human values, before it aims to confront the cultural, intellectual and moral invasion.
Followed by a speech of the media that participated in the broadcast of the Ziyarat Arba'een, delivered on their behalf by the President of the Journalists Association in Karbala, Mr. Tawfiq Al-Hayali, stating: all thanks and appreciation to the al-Abbas Holy Shrine for this initiative to honor the journalists in Karbala for their efforts in the coverage of the Ziyarat Arba'een of Imam al-Hussain, peace be upon him.

The preparations for the opening ceremony of the shrine's new grid of Aba al-Fadl Al-Abbas (peace be upon him)
The Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine has celebrated many important opening ceremonies for intellectual and architectural projects within and outside the holy city of Karbala, and some of these projects have a certain specificity, as they are unique and leading projects that will write in golden letters the history of Iraq and its holy shrines, such as the completion of the new grid of the shrine of Aba Al-Fadl Al-Abbas (peace be upon him), which was manufactured and installed by Iraqi servants, and which installation was recently completed. A great celebration will be held on the eve of the birth anniversary fo the Commander of the Faithful; Imam Ali ibn abi Taleb (peace be upon both of them); Wednesday the 12th Rajab 1437 AH corresponding to the 20th April 2016 at 8 pm to enable the lovers and followers to enjoy seeing it.
The preparatory Committee overseeing this event explained to Al-Kafeel Network: The ceremony was prepared for quite some time, choosing for it the suitable place to embrace the crowds cheering on this occasion; the square facing the gate of Qibla of the sanctuary of Aba Al-Fadl Al-Abbas (peace be upon him) to accommodate as many visitors as possible. This event will host also the recitation of poems and interventions as well as a documentary about the journey of the grid's manufacture and a honor ceremony for the workers in the project, in addition to other activities. It will be concluded by the opening of this project and the start of new historical stage of the history of the shrine of Aba Al-Fadl Al-Abbas (peace be upon him).
Adding: The Department of Intellectual and Cultural Affairs at the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine has produced a short film (15 minutes) to be broadcasted during the ceremony before the opening. And the Satellite channels wishing to broadcast in live the celebration, and willing to use free feed -if arranged- are asked to contact us, to get a copy of it without a logo in order to use it during the live broadcast of the rituals.

New ceiling of al-Abbas Holy Shrine revealed
Coinciding with the birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad’s daughter, Fatima al-Zahraa, the new ceiling of the General Secretariat of al-Abbas Holy Shrine was unveiled in a stately ceremony on Saturday, March 18.
The opening ceremony was organized in front of the main Bab al-Qiblah door and with attendance of notable public and religious figures from across the country.
Engineer Hamid al-Sa’igh, stated, “We are honored to unveil such an important project for our beloved pilgrims. The most premium quality materials from Karbalaey tiles were used in the assembly of the ceiling in addition to 34 fiber glass tents, signifying al-Abbas’ age, through which the pilgrim can see the golden dome and minarets of Abu Fadhl.”
The inner domes are covered with mirror work while the exterior are covered in Karbalaey tiles, each large dome weighing nearly eight tons and measuring a diameter of nine meters and a height of five. The smaller domes weigh nearly 3.5 tons and measure a diameter of six meters and a height of three.
Al-Sai’gh concluded by saying, “This remarkable Iraqi work will remain an honor for all Iraqis and foreigners that contributed in its accomplishment.”
