Cultura Granada - Astronomía: JEDA Granada y Al Andalus Phototour

REDUCED TO €234,950 - A stunning 5 bedroom 5 bathroom cortijo near Cullar - REF CUL5C01
A truly majestic rural cortijo, fully renovated in the village of Las Vertientes near Cullar.
This home sits on 2503m² of urban land which is very unusual for country cortijos. So, although the property has no pool, one can easily be installed with the required permissions. The cortijo measures 477m² which includes the main house, garage, a second oversized detached garage with store & workshop and to the rear a long summer lounge with separate outdoor kitchen. This kitchen includes commercial catering equipment as the house was run as a restaurant several years ago. To the rear of the property is a huge plot of land with its own well water supply, which would be the ideal location for a pool, if required.
The cortijo´s location is great, within a very friendly Spanish village and part of a genuine community. There are local bars and a medical centre in the village and within walking distance of the home, whilst the town of Cullar with supermarkets, banks and a doctors surgery is only a few minutes´ drive away.
Motorized gates greet you as you approach the property and the front garden is planted with mature trees and laid to gravel for low maintenance. A shady gazebo with table & chairs sits opposite the front door, ideal for al fresco dining or simply soaking up the views. There is a typically Andalusian covered arched terrace at the front door whilst the entrance porch is grand with double wooden doors leading into the hall. The immaculately presented entrance hall sets the scene for the rest of the home; loaded with character and finished to a high quality. To your left is the formal lounge with high double doors and traditional ceiling beams. A door at the end leads to the rear hallway. Opposite the lounge is a dining room & bar - as previously mentioned the current owners ran a boutique restaurant from the house years ago. Double doors from here then lead into another lounge which can be closed off to form the lounge of the self-contained apartment. A door from this lounge leads to a hall with a door out to the rear terrace, a shower room & toilet, a door into the main kitchen and a set of stairs up to the first floor of the apartment. The apartment includes a spacious lounge with open plan modern kitchen and a double bedroom with feature brick wall. The pitched ceilings in the apartment are a real stand out feature!
Back into the main entrance hall and next on your right is a door leading to the staircase up to the first floor. Straight ahead are double glass doors into the most amazing modern kitchen which is a paradise for even the most demanding chef. Plenty of work space, 3 ovens, 2 fridge/freezers & many other appliances and an island unit in the centre! The kitchen even boasts 2 open fireplaces; one with a log burning stove for the winter months. A door from the kitchen then leads to another hallway which gives access to the integral garage with utility room at the rear. Also off this hallway is a family bathroom with full bath and shower above. A stable door then leads out to the rear courtyard area.
The rear courtyard is very private with high walls and plenty of sunbathing space. The area is fully enclosed so ideal for young children or pets and there is plenty of colour from the planters & pots. This space also includes a water feature in the centre and a BBQ area at the end. Opposite the house is a beautiful summer or winter lounge with air conditioning and log burning stove. At the end is a fully equipped summer kitchen with all appliances.
The last area to cover is the first floor of the property accessed via the stairs from the main hall. As you reach the top of the stairs you cannot help yourself but let out a wow - the landing area feels fit for a stately home. The pitched & beamed ceilings are a work of art whilst the space, décor and furnishings all combine to leave a lasting impression. As you turn the corner a set of doors face you and lead out to the first floor terrace with stunning views over the surrounding countryside. First on your left is a spacious & bright double bedroom followed by a long hallway. First & second on your right are two mirror image family shower rooms, both with corner shower cubicles. Next on your right is another double bedroom with another double bedroom opposite which has an impressive feature arched wall above the bed head. At the end of the hall is the stunning master bedroom which is incredibly impressive. This room features pitched ceilings with beams, air conditioning, fitted wardrobes, double doors out to a Juliet balcony and an office space at the end. A door then leads into the spacious en-suite shower room.
Oil fired central heating has been installed in the property for the winter months.

Seville: Exploring the City's Islamic Heritage
In April 2015 the Crossway Foundation and Art Jameel invited 6 photographers from Saudi Arabia and the United Kingdom to Spain to learn contemporary photographic practices in the magnificent settings of Córdoba, Seville, Granada and Madrid.
After their time in Córdoba, the team travelled to Seville, the capital of Andalucía, where they worked with Alberto Rojas Maza, Director of Cobertura Photo. With Alberto they explored Seville's Islamic architectural heritage, focusing on ways to document this legacy, as well as exploring ways to develop a personal language in terms of architectural photography.

presents: Seville!
Seville is a truly amazing city that has it all. Seville's Old Town is the home to three UNESCO World Heritage Sites, including the Alcazar Palace Complex, the General Archive of the Indies and the Cathedral. Seville is situated on the plain of the River Guadalquivir. The streets and squares in the historic quarter of the capital of Andalusia are lively and busy. Enjoy the narrow, winding, medieval lanes that are scattered all over this charming Spanish city. The Plaza de Espana is definitely worth a visit. Located in the magnificent Parque de Maria Luisa, it was built in 1928 and it's a strong example of the Renaissance revival style in Spanish architecture. The Andalucian way of life is alive and well so get here and see what all the fuss is about.
