Let's Go For a Walk: Al Lopez Park, Tampa, Florida
Join me for a walk and see what Al Lopez Park has to offer. Warning: This video is quite long.
This park is made up of approximately 132 acres of Florida wildlife, offering an enjoyable view. If it isn't the land that sparks your interest, it will be the ponds. There are two ponds that fall within the boundaries of the park. The northern pond offers fishing, and some have said that the fishing is what sets Al Lopez Park aside from other parks.

City of Tampa - Drew Park CRA
Drew Park's close proximity to Tampa International Airport, Hillsborough Community College, professional sports and recreational facilities, and major employers, ideally positions the area for redevelopment activity. As one of the few remaining areas within Tampa with relatively affordable industrial land and space, the area continues to attract residents and businesses. Courtesy Automotive Group opened a new Hyundai showroom and Electric Supply completed a 35,000 square foot facility expansion. The Drew Park Streetscape & Beautification Master Plan is being used to guide improvements to enhance the appearance of the neighborhood. These projects are keeping redevelopment momentum moving forward and encouraging private investment.

JFK in Tampa - Promo 2
FOR TICKETS
Monday, November 18, 1963 was a historic day for the Tampa Bay area.
Our sleepy, southern city was suddenly thrust into the national spotlight as tens-of-thousands got the chance to see our 35th President of the United States John F. Kennedy, in Tampa.
It was a day few will forget.
Nov. 18th was Kennedy's last official visit to a city... four days before Dallas.
This documentary is a time capsule celebrating the 50th anniversary of JFK's visit to the Bay area, preserving the history and special memories of that day ... as told by those who were there.
These are their stories.

Hillsborough County Tax Collector Drew Park Office Grand Opening
The brand new Hillsborough County Tax Collector office in Drew Park was celebrated with a ribbon cutting ceremony on August 17, 2015. County Commissioner Sandra Murman was in attendance, as well as Tampa Mayor Bob Buckhorn and Tax Collector Doug Belden.
The new office is located at:
4100 W. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd
The grand opening of the Tax Collector's Drew Park office is unique as it not only proves how government works together to benefit our citizens but it also allows them an opportunity to preserve a part of Tampa history. Memorializing the history of Drew Field.
As part of this project, the tax collector's office elected to highlight and preserve some of the history associated with the Drew Park property. Back in 1928 this land was home for Drew Field Municipal Airport. The city later bought the property. Then, with the prospect of war looming, the U.S. government leased the field as a sub-post to MacDill Army Airfield. With the completion of MacDill, Drew became a separate base. During World War II, Drew Field would play host to numerous fighter, bomber and training squadrons. At its peak, Drew encompassed 15 square miles and was home to more than 25,000 military and civilian personnel.
