Blue marlin Azores - best of 2018

To celebrate Christmas and New Year's Eve, we release our new video of some of the best moments of 2018 aboard the Alabote off Ponta Delgada - Azores.

To resume the season, we had a kind of two sides season. The tuna season was not good for any sportfishing boat, but for marlin, the season was much better than the previous years. We had some crazy weeks catching lots of big fish, but also a few weeks of less action. It looks like the marlins were migrating in waves.

Our season for Big Game fishing in 2019 will start in early May through the end of June for tunas (bigeye and yellowfin) to then marlins (blues and white marlins and spearfish) until mid-October. We hope we are following the fishing trends and cycles that have been observed in the Azores in the last years, meaning that next year will be better than this one! We can’t wait to be out there again.

Sport Fishing Azores - Alabote

The Azores must be considered one of the best locations in the world to find an abundance of large big game species. It is the only place in the world were there is a good possibility to catching blue marlin, white marlin, spearfish, bluefin tuna, bigeye tuna, longfin tuna, yelowfin tuna, mako shark and swordfish.

Alabote is based in Marina Pêro de Teive Ponton B Ponta Delgada, S. Miguel Island, Azores. 37º 74´952 N 025º 65´210 W.

There we go, this time for the video of our Tuna season in 2014 aboard the Alabote, based in Ponta Delgada, Azores! As in 2013 was an amazing season with tons of Bigeyes, some Yellowfins, Albacores, giants Bluefins and also White marlins caught throughout all the year. EPIC blue marlin fishing Azores 2019

The first of two HD videos coming out about the EPIC 2019 featuring an amazing blue marlin season we had on the Alabote off Ponta Delgada, Azores.

Fortunately, the previous predictions for this season were right and there are no words that could describe how good it was. We basically did not catch fish only the days we were on land. Blue marlins, white marlins, spearfishes, large dorados, and large bigeyes, albacores and yellowfin tunas all mixed in crazy feeding frenzies. AMAZING!

Big Game Fishing - Azores

The Azorean sea is one of the favourite destinations of the fans of big-game fishing. Enormous blue and white marlins swim in this part of the Atlantic, as well as dolphin-fishes and Atlantic bluefin tunas, among other species of tuna. Between the islands of the triangle (Faial, Pico and São Jorge), the challenge is always on, even though any of the remaining islands can be a point of departure for high quantity and quality fishing outings. On land, it is possible to find many specialised operators of big-game fishing. Those that prefer to fish independently may rent boats and equipment and leave in search of the coveted trophies.
