आलमगीर मस्जिद , वाराणसी , जिसे बेनी माधव की दर्रा औरऔरंगज़ेब की मस्जिद के रूप में भी जाना जाता है, एक मस्जिद है जिसे 17 वीं शताब्दी में भारत के उत्तर प्रदेश में औरंगज़ेब ने बनाया था।
भगवान विष्णु को समर्पित, एक मराठा सरदार, बेनी मधुर राव सिंधिया द्वारा निर्मित हिंदू मंदिर को तब ध्वस्त कर दिया गया था, जब सम्राट औरंगजेब ने बनारस पर कब्जा कर लिया था और मंदिर को खंडित कर दिया था। औरंगज़ेब ने 1669 [4] में मंदिर के खंडहरों के ऊपर एक मस्जिद का निर्माण किया और इसे अपने स्वयं के सम्मानजनक शीर्षक आलमगीर के नाम पर आलमगीर मस्जिद का नाम दिया, जिसे उन्होंने मुगल साम्राज्य का सम्राट बनने के बाद अपनाया था।
मस्जिद वास्तुकला में इस्लामी और हिंदू वास्तुकला का मिश्रण है।[५] मस्जिद में ऊंचे गुंबद और मीनार हैं। [[] [६] इसके दो मीनार क्षतिग्रस्त हो गए; एक मीनार कुछ लोगों को मार डाला और दूसरे को आधिकारिक तौर पर स्थिरता की चिंताओं के कारण नीचे लाया गया। [६] पंचगंगा घाट जहाँ मस्जिद स्थित है, जहाँ पाँच धाराएँ मिलती हैं।

Gyanvapi Mosque at Varanasi was Kaasi Vishwanath Temple

Gyanvapi Masjid at Varanasi was built by Aurangazeb after destroying original Kasi Viswanath temple in 1669 AD. Ahilyabai Holkar constructed present temple adjacent to mosque in 1780.

While in Varanasi I visited a mosque that sits high above the city. This was all footage shot on an iPhone 7+ with Moment lenses. I edited this on the plane with iMovie on my phone.

I turned off comments on this video because people seemed to want to fight or argue about Muslims vs. Hindus. That is not the point of this video. We should all work to get along more peaceably.
