Alaska State Museums Services Chat 31, Gold Rush Artifacts, May 8, 2013
Webinar with Special Guest Curator Samantha Richerts from the Klondike Gold Rush National Park in Skagway. She discussed gold rush artifacts from the Rapuzzi collection that were available for donation to museums in Alaska. Because this was originally recorded in May 2013, these artifacts are almost certainly no longer available.

Flowers around Alaska
This is a bunch of pictures that Jeremy Rowley took over the Summer of 2011. The Camera I was using was a Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS10 and a Canon 60D. I am not a expert photographer or anything but it was a lot of fun getting the shots of the bees and many of the nature shots. I really enjoy taking pictures and trying to get the shot that you see in the magazines. Good luck with that huh? Those peoples cameras are worth more than my car. lol Hope you like the video of the pictures I have taken. The great music is from Andy Mckee. You can buy his music from candyrat.com. He is very impressive and love his work. Hope you do too.

2018: A Year Well Spent on Chilkoot Lake - Haines, Alaska
Better late then never, it's my version of the 2018 YouTube rewind. I can't say that the budget was as high, or that the equipment is as nice. What I can say, though, is that my 2018 recap has Waldo World flair that you just can't find anywhere else.
Now, sit back, relax, and spend the next 5 minutes reminiscing the shear beauty that 2018 possessed, including Waldo World!
My goal for 2019 is 20 videos! THAT'S A LOT OF VIDEOS!!!

As you can see, I even used some of my favorite 2018 artwork for this video!

Wrangell-St. Elias National Park Scenic Flight
Recorded July 18, 2000. The video begins at the Chitna, Alaska Airport as I wait for my plane to arrive. The rest of the video is shot from the copilot's seat over the Wrangell-St. Elias National Park and Preserve. Wrangell-St. Elias National Park has been called the Himalayas of North America, and no wonder; this vast area includes numerous mountain peaks from 14,000' to over 19,000', uncounted glaciers, some larger than the state of Rhode Island, with 20,000 square miles of untracked Alaska wilderness. Six times the size of Yellowstone National Park, Wrangell-St. Elias is the largest National Park in the United States.

Spirited Sentiments - Coffee in Ketchikan
Hi, I am Rachel Kerr Schneider. Thank you for joining me for this week's Spirited Sentiment. Actually, I am having coffee in Ketchikan. It's our third stop on our Alaska cruise with Max Lucado and Third Day. And it occurs to me, as we've come into port on another small town, that I spent some time thinking about where we were yesterday in Sitka. Sitka is said to be one of the most beautiful in all of Alaska. The landscaping there is just absolutely gorgeous. And the center of the town houses, the church, actually a cathedral, to Saint Michael that was built by the Russians- the Russian immigrants that were here many, many, many years ago. It is a church filled with color, and with love, and with spirit, and with grace. And the church that signifies the struggle and the celebration of God, and when you go inside it is very small, and yet you look at all of the icons. At this particular time when this church was established, their icons were very important to people. And icons were a way for individuals to be reminded of everything that their God and their Saints had been doing on their behalf. Their artwork is outstanding and you just feel such a presence and such joy when you are in the midst of all of these beautiful artifacts. This story was shared that after the church burned in a downtown fire, the Historical Society came together to put the church back together again and rebuild it. And the new icons were shipped over from Russia. And the ship sank. The ship sank. The icons went down. Thirty days later the crate with the icons, carrying in the midst of them, the one of archangel Michael, washed ashore within feet of the site of the cathedral. Many stories abound about how items were pulled out and carried out of the church as it was burning. And yet when those same individuals tried to pick up the chandelier or the doors days later they found they did not have the strength to move the gold plated doors or the four hundred pound chandelier. Really an amazing story and amazing testament to the faith that this community has had over the years in keeping alive this place of worship. This is such a special place of celebration of spirit and soul. So I'm excited to see what Ketchikan holds for us today. Sitka was absolutely sensational and I thank you for joining me on this journey. This is Rachel Schneider with today's Spirited Sentiment.
