The works of rehabilitation of the Monastery of Alcobaça caused the change of venue of the Exhibition, which was held this year at the Cloister of the Rachadouro, a space normally forbidden to the public, where stood the workshops, the file and the library. The confection of a particular sweet may vary by region and by convent of origin. This year are present, for the first time in this event, the only three Cistercian nuns currently living in Portugal (Rio Caldo - Terras de Bouro).

The French are coming
In the bicentennial of the third French invasion of Portugal, the municipality of Mafra organized a trip to the times of construction of the Lines of Torres. On 20 June 2010, at 16h00, the public was invited to visit the Fort Zambujal and travel back two centuries through the historical recreation The French are coming! The construction of the Lines of Torres (1810). »
For 200 years, Portuguese and English joined in the mission to protect Portugal from the French invasion. The power of guns and bayonets, gave space to the strength of the pick and shovel in the effort of thousands of peasants and soldiers who built lines to protect the city of Lisbon.
Among the 152 bunkers that were built, the work stands out in work 95, the Fort Zambujal, one of the strongholds which involved a great constructive effort.
It was a great bustle of preparations for the construction of the fort: Teams of workers excavate the moat and prepare all buildings, local peasants supported in the preparation of food, Portuguese soldiers and British guide the work ...

It was really amazing to climb up to the castle and filming this incredible area. I hope this video can demonstrate this epic feel having a panoramic view and being delivered to the strong wind.
All this is filmed with a low budget equipment, camera and steadycam round about 250$.

When we researched Porto, I figured I would love this city. Then we visited, and I realized that love wasn't a strong enough word for how I feel about this city! The video and my commentary will not do it justice. From the amazing blue tiles that coat the city walls, to the UNESCO World Heritage site water front, and the amazing Port wine. This city is a must see, and a must return for me.

ÓBIDOS is a Portuguese town of the Centre region, sub-region of the West. The name of the town derives from the Latin term “ópido”, meaning 'citadel', 'fortified town'. Óbidos was elected in 2007 one of the 7 Wonders of Portugal. Erected by the Romans on an old Castro formerly on a seaside hill, Óbidos Castle dominates the entire plain area surrounding the River Arnoia. The Óbidos Castle was again restored in the twentieth century and is a timeless landmark of the medieval times. Its walls are strengthened by square towers and you can walk on almost all of its 1565 meters of the perimeter. The castle and the entire urban area of Óbidos is classified as a National Monument. Since 1951, the Pousada of the Castle, or Pousada of Óbidos, is installed in the castle and it was the first historic guesthouse, of the Portuguese guesthouses network, inaugurating a new concept of recovering Portuguese historical buildings. One oddity in Óbidos is the fact that the ancient Church of St. James have been converted into a Library. The visitor's eye is also drawn to the huge aqueduct in stone masonry, linking Usseira (where the spring water is located) to Óbidos, in a distance of 3 kilometers. There are several events seeking to attract people to Óbidos, for example, the Medieval Market, the Christmas Village, the International Festival of Chocolate.
