Gale at Allcock Tarn - UK Lake District
We nearly got blown off the fell. I was speaking right into the camera and you can barely hear me. Must have been blowing at least 40 kts, likely gusting to much more since we nearly got knocked over several times and had to physically change our lean to stay upright depending on our facing direction.

Lake District Walks : Easedale Tarn from Grasmere
A wonderful walk up to Easedale Tarn from the village of Grasmere, including the spectacular Sour Milk Gill. On the way I tell the story of a family tragedy some 200 years ago, and explore the site of a long forgotten tea room on the fells. The return route is via Far Easedale. A wonderful afternoon walk for anyone in the Grasmere area. Alternatively, this can be the first leg of a foray onto the higher, central fells of the Lake Distict.
Lake District Country Walk Grasmere to Easedale Tarn round
Our video is a guided walk at Grasmere in the Lake District. From Grasmere we walk up Easedale Road and follow Sourmilk Gill to Easedale Tarn. After crossing the stepping stones over the gill we return to Grasmere on the path below Cockly Crag and Stenners Crag then follow the bridleway back along Easedale Road. This is a lovely easy to moderate walk perfect for a winter’s day on tarmac, grass and stony tracks and paths. The ascent to Easedale Tarn is steep. The only way over the gill is via stepping stones and on the descent there is a wide area of boggy ground so care must be taken.

Solo Wild Camp at Easedale Tarn | Wild Swimming
Todays adventure is a solo wild camp at Easedale Tarn in the glorious Lake District.
After a rubbish spell of bad weather the sun began to shine so I jumped in the car and headed off to the Lake District for a wild camp. I parked up outside of Grasmere and headed out through Easedale and up the side of Sourmilk Gill.
I pitched the Lanshan 1 at the side of the tarn then sorted all my gear, I then got the DJI Spark out to take in all the glorious views within this lovely area. After a few hour of chilling out I cooked up my tea on the JetBoil stove then chilled with a bottle of red wine at the side of the tarn next to where a poor guys ashes had been laid to rest, hope I gave him some company that night RIP my friend.
In the morning the weather was glorious so I decided to go for a wild swim in the tarn to help wake me up before cooking up some bacon on the JetBoil. Once packed up and leaving no trace I headed back for the car through Far Easedale to top off a great couple of days walking in the Lake District.
A lovely circular walk off around 4 mile with a wild camp thrown into the mix, what's not to like.
Some of my gear I carry whilst wild camping
Thermarest neoair
Alpkit Skyehigh 700
Jetboil
Osprey Exos 48 backpack
DJI Spark Drone
Lanshan 1 Flames Creed tent
Alpkit Table
UCO Lantern
Alpkit Bob light
Hope you enjoy my adventure, I sure did.

Places to see in ( Grasmere - UK )
Places to see in ( Grasmere - UK )
Grasmere is a village and tourist destination in the centre of the English Lake District. Grasmere takes its name from the adjacent lake, and has associations with the Lake Poets. The poet William Wordsworth, who lived in Grasmere for 14 years, described it as the loveliest spot that man hath ever found.
Before 1974, Grasmere lay within the former county of Westmorland. Today it is part of the county of Cumbria. The village is on the river Rothay which flows into Grasmere (the water body), which lies about 0.5 km to the south. The village is overlooked from the north-west by the rocky hill of Helm Crag, popularly known as The Lion and the Lamb or the Old Lady at the Piano.
A number of popular walks begin in the village of Grasmere , including the ascent of Helm Crag, a longer route up to Fairfield and a moderate 200-metre ascent to Easedale Tarn. The village is also on the route of Alfred Wainwright's Coast to Coast Walk.
The A591 connects Grasmere to the Vale of Keswick over Dunmail Raise to the north, and Ambleside to the south. In other directions, Grasmere is surrounded by high ground. (As of Christmas 2015, the A591 was washed away on the Keswick side of Dunmail Raise, resulting in a long detour. It was reopened in May 2016.) To the west, a long ridge comes down from High Raise and contains the lesser heights of Blea Rigg and Silver How. To the east, Grasmere is bordered by the western ridge of the Fairfield horseshoe.
Grasmere is served by the Stagecoach 555 bus service connecting towns in and near the Lake District, such as Keswick and Lancaster. In summer it is also served by an open top double-decker 599 service, operated by Stagecoach, which runs between Grasmere and Bowness-on-Windermere.
Grasmere's famous Rushbearing Ceremony, centred on St Oswald's Church, has ancient origins. Grasmere is now home to the winner of the 'Get Started Award 2014' awarded by the Institute of Enterprise and Entrepreneurs, the Handmade Chocolate Shop. Today's Grasmere Gingerbread is made to a secret recipe popularised by Sarah Nelson (1815–1904).
