NO ALCOHOL ON KUWAIT AIRWAYS!? Palermo Sicily to BANGKOK Thailand | Travel Vlog
Today is a travel day! YAY! We are leaving Sicily and saying good bye to Europe because today is the day we head to South East Asia! Bangkok Thailand is our final destination, but it will take 3 flights, 2 airlines, 19 travel hours, and 5 hours lost in time.
We booked our flights through a website called GoToGate - they work like Skyscanner and Webjet but they combine different airlines into one booking number…. we’re still not sure exactly how it all works, but it was the cheapest way for us to get from Europe to S.E. Asia. The only downside was that two of the flights were with Kuwait Airways….they’re a dry airline, as in - NO ALCOHOL ALLOWED. It really wasn’t that bad, we found Kuwait Airways to be pretty good. The staff were friendly, the airplanes were nice and the food was decent. Considering we booked the cheapest flights our flight times weren’t bad either, we left Palermo at 10.20am and arrived at Bangkok around 10.30am the next day. Plus we had two 3 hour layovers in Rome and Kuwait.
We’re so excited to be in Thailand, we LOVE South East Asia and we can’t wait to explore this incredible country!

We said goodbye to our jobs, sold all our belongings, and left Australia on a one-way ticket to Shanghai with just each other and our backpacks! We plan to travel the world for a year, see as much as possible, meet as many people as we can, and most importantly MAKE OUR MONEY LAST!
When we left Australia we decided to make travel vlogs to share our journey with our friends and family back home. We also love watching other travel vloggers on YouTube, in particular Kara and Nate, The Endless Adventure, The Way Away, and Flying The Nest.

Italy: Clashes erupt in Turin as residents decry anti-alcohol controls following stampede
Clashes erupted with police as local residents protested new alcohol controls in Piazza Santa Giulia, in the Vanchiglia district of Turin on Tuesday night. The measures have been put in place as a precaution following a stampede which reportedly injured more than 600 people.
Riot police carrying batons charged at protesters as demonstrators shouted we want to drink and that the whole world hates the police.

Palermo city guide - Vucciria
When Palermo locals talk about a loud riotous confusion, the word they use is ‘vucciria’, taken from the name of the oldest market on the Italian island. And it’s not hard to see why. Crammed with food stalls during the day, by night La Vucciria comes alive with the clamour of revellers spilling out of tavernas onto the well-worn streets.

The Most Beautiful Mummy In The World and Its Mystery
Thanks for watching....
Rosalia Lombardo (December 13, 1918 in Palermo, Italy – December 6, 1920), was an Italian child who died of pneumonia. Rosalia's father, Official Mario Lombardo, was sorely grieved upon her death, so he approached Alfredo Salafia, a noted embalmer, to preserve her.
Her body was one of the last corpses to be admitted to the Capuchin catacombs of Palermo in Sicily.
Embalming
Thanks to Salafia's embalming techniques, the body was well preserved.
X-rays of the body show that all the organs are remarkably intact.
Rosalia Lombardo's body is kept in a small chapel at the end of the catacomb's tour and is encased in a glass covered coffin, placed on a wooden pedestal.
A 2009 National Geographic photograph of Rosalia Lombardo shows the mummy is beginning to show signs of decomposition, most notably discoloration.
To address these issues the mummy was moved to a drier spot in the catacombs, and her original coffin was placed in a hermetically sealed glass enclosure with nitrogen gas to prevent decay.
The mummy is one of the best preserved bodies in the catacombs.
Technique
Recently, the mummification techniques used by Salafia were discovered in a handwritten memoir of Salafia's.
Salafia replaced the girl's blood with a liquid made of formalin to kill bacteria, alcohol to dry the body, glycerin to keep her from overdrying, salicylic acid to kill fungi, and zinc salts to give her body rigidity.
Accordingly, the formula's composition is one part glycerin, one part formalin saturated with both zinc sulfate and chloride, and one part of an alcohol solution saturated with salicylic acid.
