Stoke Breurne Canal Museum 'Village at War' 30.09.2012 Part 1/2
Part 1/2. Video of Stoke Bruerne's 5th annual 'Village at War' event, held over the weekend of the 28th, 29th and 30th September 2012. This video was shot on the 30th September 2012.
Stoke Bruerne canal village was turned back to the 1940's with re-enactors in period costume, military vehicles, motorbuses, firearms display, period music, home guard displays and of course an array of historic narrowboats.
We start this video with a look at Stoke Bruerne top lock and a look at some of the canal boats present at the event.
Notable narrowboats seen in this video included; 'Laplander', an 1830's iron hulled tug built for the company BCN with a diesel steam engine. Also seen was 'Raymond', the last wooden hulled narrowboat built for carrying in Britain which was launched in 1958 with 'Nutfield', a motorboat built for the Grand Union Canal Carrying Company and launched in July 1936.

What office life is really like when you live on a narowboat - River Avon, England, Summer 2012
Going under a bridge at 4mph on a narrowboat trip, somewhere between London and Bath, on the River Avon.
Clinging onto the camera whilst hurtling down the waterway, I swerve to miss a possibly near fatal crash into a bridge, then artfully postpone the underhanded niceness of a helpful and friendly telephone sales lady before the sight of a some kind of medieval canal-side mechanical mill structure distracts me and I veer off into the reeds.
