Treasures from Moscow: Icons from the Andrey Rublev Museum
A unique collection of icons from the Andrey Rublev's Museum of Early Russian Culture and Art risks being seized in the United States. Recently this collection was taken by the museum administration to a private U.S. museum founded by Gordon Lankton (on video). The Russian icons will remain in the U.S. until July 2011, the Rublev's Museum said on its website:
Such a conclusion was made from a speech by Russian Culture Minister Alexander Avdeyev on the Ekho Moskvy radio station, who said that as a result of U.S. claims to the Schneerson Library all Russian property not covered by diplomatic immunity could be seized in the U.S:
During the exhibition «Treasures from Moscow: Icons from the Andrey Rublev Museum» in Clinton in the Museum of Russian Icons in Clinton (Mass) an iconographer David Clayton, artist in residence at Thomas More College of Liberal Arts in Merrimack (N.H.) has hosted Episode six 'Icons - the Art of the Heavenly Ideal' of 'The Way of Beauty'.
Александров. Золотое кольцо России. Aleksandrov. The Golden ring of Russia.
In 1970, Aleksandrov included in the list of 115 historical cities, having valuable town-planning ensembles and complexes, monuments of history and culture protected by the state. In the summer of 1970 there were filmed the feature film Ruslan and Lyudmila.
The fate of the Alexander Settlement is closely connected with the fate of the Russian ruling dynasties. In 1564 Ivan the terrible in the Settlement began to make history of the Russian state. Hence the king led the unification of the Russian lands, here in the Prince's court received ambassadors from Austria, England, Denmark, the Commonwealth, Sweden, has signed major international treaties. When Ivan the terrible Sloboda became the largest cultural center. Hither flocked all the new items, executed by Russian and foreign masters, worked their own printing press, created by the printer Andronik Ignorant, there was even a Conservatory where from across the country gathered the best musicians and singers.
Today on the territory of Alexandrov Kremlin is the historical-architectural and art Museum-reserve Alexandrovskaya Sloboda and restored Holy Dormition convent. Remained on the territory: the Trinity Cathedral with two unique doors that brought Ivan of Tver and Novgorod the Great tent-roofed Church of the intercession. Crucifixion Church-belfry (1560 years) and Martiny chamber (XVII century), assumption Church (XVI—XVII century). The complex is surrounded by fortress walls with four corner towers and a gatehouse Church of Theodore Stratelates.

More films about Disasters:
On Christmas Day, 2016, a plane went down in the Black Sea with Russia’s world-famous Alexandrov Ensemble on board. The Russian Armed Forces’ official chorus had been on its way to a Russian military base near Latakia, Syria to bring the troops there some holiday cheer. The tragedy was a huge blow to the nation and the victims’ loved ones. One year on, the widows are still in a state of shock and grief, struggling to move forward, despite nosy questions from outsiders.

Rare Russian icons on display in Moscow
The Pushkin Museum has put together a rare collection of 130 religious icons dating from the 14th to 16th centuries, known as a golden age of religious art in Russia. It's only the third time an exhibition of this type has been brought together.
Musical Offering to the Alexandrov Ensemble and the People of Russia
Members of the NYC Schiller Institute Community Chorus sing the Russian National Anthem outside the Russian Consulate in New York in honor of the passengers, many of them members of the Alexandrov Ensemble, who died when their plane crashed enroute to Syria, Sunday, December 25, 2016.
Founder and President of the Schiller Institute, Helga Zepp-LaRouche issued the following message:
Message of condolence to the Alexandrov Ensemble and the People of Russia
In the name of the International Schiller Institute, I wish to express our deep condolences for the tragic loss of the the 92 human beings who died in the plane crash on the way to Syria. This accident is all the more a cause for sadness, as the music and patriotic spirit characteristic of the members of the Alexandrov Ensemble would have brought a message of hope to the people of Syria. This is a population victimized by more than five years of the criminal policies of regime change and treated as the pawns in a geopolitical game in complete violation of their sovereignity.
The Alexandrov Ensemble has been an expression of the highest moral values of Russia and, like classical choral singing in general, speaks to the soul and the creative potential of the audience. It is therefore extremely important that Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu announced that he is initiating auditions to pick the best talents to fully restore the Alexandrov Chorus.
The training of the singing voice is important for everybody, since a well-placed voice can express the creative intention of the composer and directly speak to the same faculty in the audience. It represents, therefore, an irreplaceable element of the harmonious development of the character. Let me therefore share with you the idea that, in addition to rebuilding the Alexandrov Ensemble, thousands of Alexandrov choruses be established in schools all over Russia to honor the heroic contribution of Russia in the liberation of Syria and, at the same time, broaden the uplifting effect of choral singing to the young generation.
There is a New Paradigm in the process of becoming as exemplified by the integration of the Eurasian Union and the New Silk Road Initiative, establishing a completely new kind of relations among nations. We need a dialogue of the best tradtions of each culture for this New Paradigm to grow into a new era of civilization—the knowledge of the best of another culture will lead to a love for it, and therefore supercede xenophobia and hatred with more noble emotions. In this new era, geopolitics will be overcome forever and the dedication to the common aims of mankind will establish a higher level of reason. It is a reason for consolation for all of us, that the tragic death of the victims of the plane crash contribute with their immortality to the building of that better world.

Red Army Choir - BBC Radio 3 Program (2011)
This Radio Programe is about the A.V. Alexandrov Red Army Choir. There are some best choral performances included, such as On the Way, Bandura, The Cliff and some other hits.
The programe also includes Leonid Kharitonov's memories and some interesting comments from the Ensemble's fan from UK – Linda Spashett OCarroll.
It might seem a kitsch throwback to the days when music was an essential weapon in the Soviet armoury, but the Red Army Choir still sets the benchmark for military music-making some 80 odd years since it was founded. Now known as the Alexandrov Ensemble, the company of singers, players and dancers still tours the world as a cultural envoy of the Russian state. Aled Jones uncovers the history of the group, from its first glory years when it performed a vital role in promoting culture amongst the members of the Soviet military. He follows it through the Second World War when it gave an astounding 1500 concerts to motivate the troups, and then the post-war years when it had to re-invent itself as a vehicle for national pride across the world despite political resistance to its concerts in the West.

SCRIPT
Legendary Russian theatre director Yuri Alexandrov unveiled Crimea, a lavish musical tale detailing the history of the Crimean peninsula at the St. Petersburg Chamber Opera Company, Friday. Held in St Petersburg's the Chamber Music Theatre, theatre-lovers flocked to see the world premiere of the piece.
Inspired by Marian Viktorovich Koval's 1946 piece 'The Sevastapolians', 'Crimea' spans the history of the peninsula over the course of the Crimean war, through both World Wars and up to the current day.
Alexandrov, who established the Chamber Music Theatre in 1987, is one of Russia's leading musical theatre directors and has won several national awards over the course of his career, including a Golden Mask, Russia's highest national theatre prize.
When asked about the opera, Alexandrov said that after seeing events unfolding in Crimea, Ukraine and Novorossiya, the soul demanded for some kind of response, and that iconic images of the events exhausted the soul and still do.

Victory Day celebration in Moscow
Traditionally, the anthem is always played on the military parade on May 9 after the speech by the state leader.
A cappella performance by some 6000-strong choir of all the parade participants, conducted by Valery Khalilov (recorded from broadcast of Channel One (Russia)).
I have a full recording of the parade, but that file is too big to post it in the museum.
Visiting PROKHOROVKA, Russia (7/2018)
Prokhorovka is remembered as the largest ever tank battle. In the collective Russian memory it was the turning point of the Battle of Kursk when the infamous Liebstandarte II SS Panzer Division was stopped in it's tracks. This point of view is immortalised on the battlefield in the form of the iconic Prokhorovka Bell Tower and the recently installed art works in front of the impressive local museum.
The first mention of Prokhorovka in historical documents dates back to the second half of the 17th century. Polish nobleman Kiril G. Ilyinsky and his son Sava left during the Russian-Polish war of 1654-67 in Poland under the Belgorod, where they founded the suburb Elias. In 1860 Elias Sloboda was renamed in honor of the reigning Emperor Alexander II in the village of Alexandrov. In the 1880s west of the village passed a line of the Kursk-Kharkov-Azov railway. At the same time Prokhorovka station was built, named after the railway engineer names VI Prokhorov responsible for its construction.
In the summer of 1943, Prokhorovka was the site of the Battle of Prokhorovka, a major armored confrontation during the Battle of Kursk of World War II. In July 2013, Vice Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin offered to establish by 2015 a museum commemorating the battle. The display of armored vehicles will be permanent and the technologies shown there will bring up recollections of the events of World War II.
The Battle of Prokhorovka was fought on 12 July 1943 near Prokhorovka, 87 kilometres southeast of Kursk in the Soviet Union, during the Second World War. Taking place on the Eastern Front, the engagement was part of the wider Battle of Kursk, and occurred when the 5th Guards Tank Army of the Soviet Red Army attacked the II SS-Panzer Corps of the German Wehrmacht in one of the largest tank battles in military history.

Cossack Historical Origins
Hello fellow Cossacks and all comers!
In today's video I attempt to grapple with the hardest plot point in Cossack history, the INCEPTION period of time.
As I mentioned this plot point in my 500 years of Cossack history, Reductionist video. I now go in depth on this period and tell the tale of what we know and do not know about the Origins of Westerns and Eastern Cossacks.
