Thank You Josef Nagy For Providing This Info:-
The name of the song is Toi Toi Toi and is performed by Dimitri Dourakine + band. This song is a follow-up to the hit Casatchok which was dance friendly version of the Russian folk song Katyusa (1969). Casatchok was a big hit in Europe. Both songs very nice indeed.

Golden Domes of Alexander Nevsky Cathedral in Yalta
Steve and I saw the golden domes of Alexander Nevsky Cathedral shining from the ship as we cruised into Yalta, each time the Viking tour bus crept through the streets, and finally walked over to admire. The Cathedral was gorgeous inside but views of the typical and bright gold Russian Onion Domes were a knockout.
Briefly, who was Alexander Nevsky? Important since you'll see a cathedral named after him anywhere a Russian Orthodox cathedral can be seen. Alexander Nevsky played an important military role in Russia and his victories made him celebrated. In 1252, Nevsky was made Grand Prince of Vladimir (the supreme ruler of Russia) and the Russian Orthodox Church conferred sainthood upon his death.

Icon Restoration - St Alexander Nevsky Lavra
On a visit to Russia in July 2013, my husband, Fr. Gregory, and I went to St. Alexander Nevsky Lavra (Monastery) in St. Petersburg and had a guided tour of the icon restoration workshop. Icons have to coexist with smoke from candles and incense and get darkened over time, and over the course of centuries someone will decide to repaint on top of them. The Soviets destroyed many icons, too. There is a lot of work to be done to preserve and rescue icons.
Our translator is Elena Morozova, a parishioner of our church, Holy Cross Orthodox Church in Linthicum, MD; she grew up in Moscow. Editing this I can hear how very tired she is. I didn't realize translating was so exhausting. At the UN, I'm told, they let a translators work 30 minutes at a time. Elena had been translating for us continually for days.

The Transfiguration Cathedral of the Mirozhsky Monastery in Pskov, Russia is one of the oldest churches of the Pskov region, dating from the twelfth century. Built before local Russian architectural concept had developed, the cathedral uses a “Byzantine” cross floor plan. The cathedral is especially renowned for the twelfth century frescos painted by Greek artists from the Mediterranean area. The cathedral is one of the best examples of the architecture and iconography of the pre-Tatar period...
Based on some technical features that remain to this day, the artists are known to have begun their work as soon as the builders finished theirs. The fine condition of the higher level frescos resulted from architectural changes and renovations that occurred possibly as late as the seventeenth century. In the course of these changes the frescos were over painted with whitewash. In the late nineteenth century, the frescos were discovered at a time of renewed interest in Russian antiquities and the overlays of whitewash and plaster were carefully removed by a team under V. V. Suslov.
In the early twentieth century the monks became discontented with the manner of restoration and initiated a change to a new team of icon painters under N. M. Saphonov who began to clean the old images and to repaint them. A renewed effort to restoration began in 1920, but even today the 1901 renovations, and when these photographs were taken, still cover many of the fresco images.
Restoration continues. The cathedral is not active. Visitation is controlled to limit excessive humidity and its effects on the images.
Alexander Nevsky Gift of fury (Basil Poledouris)
Capture of Pskov by Teutonic order, from Sergei Eisenstein`s historical drama Alexander Nevsky (1938).
Music: The Gift of Fury composed by Basil Poledouris for Conan the Barbarian (1982.)
Performed by Prague Philharmonic Orchestra and Chorus, conducted by Nic Raine, in 2010.
I made this video as a tribute, since both Poledouris and John Milius were inspired by Eisenstein and Prokofiev, peculiarly by this scene, and The battle of the Ice scene. Therefore, i consider using their copyrighted material as a fair use.

Alexander Nevsky Lavra
Saint Alexander Nevsky Lavra or Saint Alexander Nevsky Monastery was founded by Peter I of Russia in 1710 at the eastern end of the Nevsky Prospekt in Saint Petersburg supposing that that was the site of the Neva Battle in 1240 when Alexander Nevsky, a prince, defeated the Swedes; however, the battle actually took place about 12 miles (19 km) away from that site.

Svyato - Troitskiy Kafedral'nyy Sobor Church in Russia I NOthing but SOMEthing
The Trinity Cathedral (ru. Троицкий собор or Троицкий храм) is located in the Pskov Krom or Kremlin on the east bank of the Velikaya (Great) River. It has, since 1589, been the mother church of the Pskov Eparchy.
The first wooden Trinity Cathedral (the Russian term sobor, translated as cathedral can mean any major church irrespective of it being a cathedral church of a bishop) was built in the tenth century, allegedly under the patronage of Princess Olga, but this seems unlikely as Olga's conversion was personal, and the conversion of the Rus Land did not occur until 988, almost two decades after her death. Thus, it seems likely the first church dates to the time of Christianization or shortly thereafter. This church was replaced by a stone church in 1138, allegedly at the behest of Prince Vsevolod Mstislavich, who died the previous year. The cathedral was destroyed and rebuilt several times over the centuries; for example, the Novgorodian First Chronicle mentions that in 1365, Archbishop Aleksei of Novgorod (r. 1359-1388) blessed the reconstruction of a stone church on the foundations of the original Trinity church; it was completed in 1367 under the direction of Master Kirill (who appears to have died in the plague of 1390).[1] This church was heavily damaged in a fire in 1609 and the interior was renovated aftwards. The current building was built beginning in 1691 and consecrated in 1699.
In the Soviet period, the cathedral was part of the schismatic Living Church movement in the 1920s before its closure in the 1930s, at which time it was turned into a museum. It was reopened as a church during the Nazi occupation. It remained open after the war.
The cathedral is 256 feet tall and contains the tombs of saint princes Vsevolod Mstislavich (also known as Gavril - died in 1138) and Dovmont (died in 1299).
The current bishop of Pskov, as of February 1993, is Archbishop Evsevii (Nikolai Afanas'evich Savvin).

From the Prelude No.3 in D minor. Op.23 by S. Rachmaninov
The history of St. Vladimir's school dates back to 1873, when a Decree of Ecclesiastical Consistory from the Abbess of the Resurrection Novodevichy Convent in St. Petersburg was issued. The decree allowed for the establishment, in the monastery grounds, of a home for 10 orphans from all classes. The school was officially opened on the 31, October 1889, in memory of the 900th anniversary of the founding of Rus at St. Vladimir, accompanied by a solemn litany and procession. The ceremonies to mark this event was attended amongst others, by the Archbishop of Vladimir & Suzdal, the Procurator of the Holy Synod, the Minister of Education and a member of the Privy-Council…..
The school accepted girls of between 11 and 14 years of age who were taught by 5 school teachers. One servant was also hired. Initially, the pupils went to church services in the monastery. In 1895 a two-storey wooden house was built to accommodate the school. Three years later the building was replaced by a stone built two-storey one, decorated in the Russian-Byzantine style, by the architect Vladimir Kurzanov ,described, at the time ….. in two floors, with a large light in the middle of a corridor and an adjoining outdoor recreation hall on the second floor, with a beautiful and strong mosaic floors. In classrooms and living rooms have parquet floors ...
I understand that the school closed with the Revolution and in the 1920's was used as a hospital. During the 1930's the school building was demolished……
