Enjoy a Canoe Run on Alexander Springs in Ocala National Forest - 360 Videos 4K
Bubbling forth from Alexander Springs into Alexander Creek, this popular canoe run starts at the Alexander Springs Recreation Area and continues for about six miles of paddling to the take-out on the north shore at 52 Landing. The run is broad and swift, with many small islands and little dry land to bank on for the first several miles. A paddling trip is the easiest way to experience the heart of the Alexander Springs Wilderness.

Alexander Springs- Ocala National Forest & Camping At Lake Rousseau RV Park
We spent two nights camping at Alexander Springs in the Ocala National Forest. Alexander Springs is a recreational area that was similar to a state park. When camping, entrance to the park (normally $5.50 a person) is included with camping. This campground was dry camping but allowed generators. The spring really is as blue as the video shows. The river is also loaded with bass for those that want to canoe down river.
From the Ocala National Forest we headed to Lake Rousseau RV Park. This campground sat right on Lake Rousseau and had its own boat ramp. We took advantage of this and headed out on the lake for cruising, fishing, and exploring.

Florida's Alexander Springs Run - Canoeing, fishing, and Adventure in Bushcraft and Survival
We took a day trip down the Alexander Springs Run. It is located within the Alexander Springs Recreation Area on the eastern side of the Ocala National Forest. Multiple spring vents under a limerock ledge discharge clear and nearly constant 72°F water, forming a large spring pool. The bottom of the pool is a combination of sand and aquatic plants. One portion of the shoreline has a sand beach and stairs leading to the gently sloping spring pool; the remainder of the shoreline is the native floodplain forest of maples, sweetgum, and cabbage palms.
The one-mile Timucuan Trail goes through the floodplain, sometimes on boardwalks, with two overlooks along the spring run.
A nearby concession facility offers canoe and kayak rentals and livery service for those who want to paddle the spring run, which flows approximately eight miles until the confluence with the St. Johns River.
The recreation area also includes camping, picnic areas, and a bathhouse. It is open for both day use and for overnight.
After fishing and swimming, we went for a short hike and scouted some killer camping spots.
I hope you enjoy my video!
Alexander Springs Wilderness, Florida (Dji Phantom Hyperlapse)

Alexander Springs Recreation Area Picnic, Swim, Scuba, and Paddle - Ocala National Forest - 4K 360
There are only 27 first-magnitude springs in Florida, and Alexander Springs is by far one of the easiest for visitors to enjoy. A broad and naturally gently sloped spring pool becomes a natural water park when visitors come to picnic, swim and play. The water is a constant 72°F and extraordinarily clear. Ripples play across the sand bottom as small fish dart about. Surrounded by a floodplain forest of maples, sweetgum and cabbage palms, this recreation area feels almost tropical.

Alexander Springs - Ocala National Forest - Play, Swim, Snorkel, Scuba - Local Travel - Staycation
Exploring the Local Life takes you to Alexander Springs for some summer fun from playing and swimming to snorkeling and scuba. The GoPro got a great workout on this trip. Robert dove in and got some really great footage of the boil (spring source). I think fins and snorkels are our next purchase. Hanging onto an inner tube while trying to get a view of the boil is not the best strategies. Enjoy the video - Please like, share, and subscribe! :D Check out our blog post about our visit:
