The Black Watch Memorial Dunkeld Cathedral Perthshire Scotland
Tour Scotland video of The Black Watch Memorial on visit to Dunkeld Cathedral, Highland Perthshire. An impressive work in marble by Sir John Robert Steell, born in Aberdeen on 18 September 1804. He was a Scottish sculptor. He is best known for a number of sculptures displayed in Edinburgh, including the statue of Sir Walter Scott at the base of the Scott Monument. His family moved to 5 Calton Hill in Edinburgh in 1806. He was one of the thirteen children, eleven surviving beyond infancy, of John Steell senior, born 1779, died 1849, a carver and guilder, and Margaret Gourlay, the daughter of William Gourlay, a Dundee shipbuilder. As the family grew they moved to a larger house at 20 Calton Hill. Due to his father's own fame as a sculptor, for much of his early working career he is referred to as John Steel Junior.Steell initially followed his father, training to be a carver himself, being apprenticed in 1818. In 1826 he married Elizabeth Graham, daughter of John Graham, an Edinburgh merchant. His first work to attract international attention was Alexander taming Bucephalus carved in 1832, cast in bronze in 1883, and now standing in the quadrangle of Edinburgh City Chambers by the Royal Mile. Around 1838 he was appointed as Sculptor to Her Majesty the Queen, a post which was later recognised as part of the Royal Household in Scotland. His fame by then was international, receiving commissions from the United States, Canada and New Zealand. Steell died, on 15 September 1891, at home, 24 Greenhill Gardens in Edinburgh's southern suburbs, and is buried in an unmarked grave in Edinburgh's Old Calton Cemetery. This grave was purchased by his father John Steell senior and many members of the Steell and Gourlay families are also interred there. The surname name has been spelled Steele, Steill, Steel, Steal and others.

Michel Stokes Books ready to go to press
Inspired by a chapter in his 2014 book, “Bare Strength”, which featured wounded amputee Marines, celebrated photographer Michael Stokes has created an entire photographic volume dedicated to U.S. Gulf War veterans. “Always Loyal”, a large-scale, hardcover coffee table book, showcases the beautiful side of wounded soldiers, whose injuries and/or lost limbs are detailed in intimate, exclusive photographs and information that provide a highly unique appreciation for those brave souls who have fought for the United States of America. The goal of fitness photographer Stokes-who, inspired by a shoot with veteran and amputee Alex Minsky, wanted to put a different spin on how wounded veterans were depicted-was to create a book via crowdfunder KickStarter.com. The result of the book is pure art.
Exhibition, a 136-page, hardcover volume, showcases photographer Michael Stokes’ penchant for photographing “male erotic images and figure studies of fitness competitors, personal trainers, and body builders from around the world. ” Following his massively-successful Masculinity and Bare Strength, Stokes-whose number of Facebook followers top an astonishing 675,000-has created a new, modern figure study of the male form. He is best known for his work with nude American soldier amputees-photos that have been banned by social media sites like Facebook and Instagram, many of which are featured in his book Always Loyal. Stokes’ photos have appeared on The Today Show, Good Morning America, The View, and The Tonight Show.

Prince Harry romance Ellie Goulding: Kate Middleton Shocked as Couple Reveals Years-Long Secret Relationship?
Claims made by Prince Harry and singer Ellie Goulding that they are just friends aren’t being received too well – Kate Middleton doesn’t believe them – especially when this isn’t the first time the two have been romantically linked. They were spotted late last month at the Audi Polo Challenge at London’s Coworth Park sharing a smooch beneath a blanket.
Onlookers claimed the two appeared to be very much into each other during the tournament.
THIS polo match was one of the first events attended by the Ginger Prince after his return from Orlando and his
