Do It The Hard Way - ThreeBop
Three of London's vibrant young jazz voices come together to create a highly individual and dynamic sound. Inspired by the music of the bebop vocalese legends ‘Lambert Hendricks & Ross’. Ella Hohnen-Ford, Rosina Bullen and Luca Manning create a unique sound, performing their own vocalese arrangements with tight vocal harmonies and improvisation. The band is made up of jazz students from The Guildhall School of Music and Drama and The Royal Academy of Music and will be performing some new repertoire as the start of an exciting upcoming project, which you will hear more about on the night, along with some of their favourite 'Lambert, Hendricks & Ross' numbers. Special guest Dom Ingham will also join the group for a few tunes.

Winchester is a city in the county of Hampshire, on the edge of England's South Downs National Park. It’s known for medieval Winchester Cathedral, with its 17th-century Morley Library, the Winchester Bible and a Norman crypt. Nearby are the ruins of Wolvesey Castle and the Winchester City Mill, a working 18th-century corn mill. The Great Hall of Winchester Castle houses the medieval round table linked to King Arthur.
Winchester is a city and the county town of Hampshire, England. The city of Winchester lies at the heart of the wider City of Winchester, a local government district, and is located at the western end of the South Downs National Park, along the course of the River Itchen. Winchester is situated 61 miles (98 km) south-west of London and 13.6 miles (21.9 km) from Southampton, its closest city.
Winchester developed from the Roman town of Venta Belgarum, which in turn developed from an Iron Age oppidum. Winchester's major landmark is Winchester Cathedral, one of the largest cathedrals in Europe, with the distinction of having the longest nave and overall length of all Gothic cathedrals in Europe. The city is home to the University of Winchester and Winchester College, the oldest public school in the United Kingdom still to be using its original buildings.
Winchester is situated on a bed of cretaceous lower chalk with small areas of clayey and loamy soil, inset with combined clay and rich sources of Fuller's earth. Aside from the city centre, there are several suburbs and neighbourhoods within the city, including:
Hyde
Abbotts Barton
Fulflood
Weeke
Winnall
Highcliffe
Stanmore
Upper Stanmore
Lower Stanmore
Teg Down
Badger Farm
Oliver's Battery
St. Cross
Bar End
Harestock
Winchester is located near the M3 motorway and at the meeting of the A34, A31, A3090 and A272 roads. Once a major traffic bottleneck, the city still suffers from congestion at peak times. A Roman road originating in Salisbury called The Clarendon Way ends in Winchester. Winchester railway station is served by South West Trains trains from London Waterloo, Weymouth, Portsmouth and Southampton, as well as by CrossCountry between Bournemouth, and either Manchester or Newcastle via Birmingham.

Eight Men Held Over Barclays Bank £1.3m Robbery
Eight Men have been arrested in connection with a £1.3m robbery of a branch of Barclays that involved taking control of one of the bank's computers.
Money was taken from the Branch in Swiss Cottage, north London, on 5 April this year. A probe was launched after a Keyboard Video Mouse Switch, a device that allows workers to access their computer systems remotely, was found attached to a 3G router.
The gang are aged between 24 and 47 and have remained in police custody since Thursday. Po-lice have already seized thousands of credit cards and personal data, with Barclays saying it was able to recover a significant amount of stolen money.
The arrests come after a similar plot was foiled earlier this month to siphon millions from a com-puter of a south London branch of Santander.

The Majestic Cinema, City Square, Leeds, aka Majestyk's Nightclub before the fire in September 2014
Inside the grade 2 listed Majestic Cinema on City Square, built in 1922 and seating 2,800 cinema-goers, closing as a cinema in 1969, later Majestic Bingo Hall and in the 1990s Majestyk Nightclub, closing in 2006. Now waiting for it's next chapter.
This video was filmed when the building was temporarily open for a silent art film from October to December 2013.
In January 2011, the Yorkshire Evening Post reported Under Rushbond's proposals, the ground and upper floors could be used as a cinema, concert hall, dance hall, bingo and gym, while the basement would become a live music venue and nightclub.
Its classical dome, Parthenon style frieze, Hellenic bordering, classical columns were mixed with the chrome and glitz from it's days as a nightclub.
Partly cleared out on ground level as part of renovation, the immediate entrance had had a wall removed, so there was no longer an entrance space & you went straight in. The VIP area upstairs had had a wall removed where you went in, replaced by an H joint, leaving a wide space with a view over City Square and an outside veranda space (I couldn't get to it). The dance floor had gone, leaving concrete. Windows on ground level are new, but reasonably sympathetic. Bars, toilets, diner hatch, shelving for drinks around the room, etc, are all there.
The 'earth' disc was precariously still there, hanging from the ceiling, with wires dangling around it. The ceiling was only a bit damaged in places and needed returning to classical colours. The chrome and metal of the 1990s were still attached against the balconies, though the lights and speakers had gone. The classic columns still have the hideous metal frameworks around them, install during the nightclub years. Ironically, they will have protected them from damage. The downstairs bar has the sign Try Our New Cocktail And Shooter Bar On The First Level Balcony. The small podium on the dancefloor has the sign telling the partygoers that drinks aren't allowed on the dancefloor...
Jumpin' Jaks in the basement remained largely untouched, apparently and still looked like a Wild West venue. The act down there was the Duelling Pianos, two large grand pianos, playing party music. A temporary stud wall had been erected so a tiny space could be used to show the silent film, but even then the old cloakroom & signs were still there in that small space.
The entrance floorway had broken up, revealing the original mosaics and floor tiling in places.

Morwenstow - The Old Vicarage, Morwenstow, Cornwall.
Recorded at The Vicarage, Morwenstow in Cornwall, August 2010. Morwenstow - what a place - remote, atmospheric, windswept and rugged. Great for a break or an adventure. There's virtually no village (a pub, church and tearoom) but the pub and The Vicarage do B&B. Well worth a visit. R.S Hawker (the original occupier of the vicarage) was the first vicar in Cornwall to ensure that all the sailors shipwrecked in his parish were given a Christian burial, paying his parishioners out of his own pocket to bring the bodies up from the shore. Not a pleasant task, as some had been in the sea for weeks before they were washed up. They were then taken to the Dead House by the church to await the coroner. At times it could be two to three weeks before he came, and the bodies could be buried. Very distressing for all concerned. In latter years Hawker would cry at the thought of bad weather for fear of shipwrecks thinking he could hear the cries of sailors in the wind sometimes.

Two Tottenham fans stabbed in Rome
Two Tottenham Hotspur fans have been stabbed, after around 100 Lazio hooligans attacked them in a bar in Rome. Both supporters have been taken to hospital, with one in a reportedly critical condition after suffering injuries to an artery.
A total of ten Tottenham supporters, nine British and one American, were hurt in the attack, with Italian police saying five Lazio supporters have been arrested. The assault occurred at the Drunken Ship pub in the early hours of this morning. Eyewitness Guiseppe Tamborra described what happened.
I saw everything from the arch that you see over there. I called the police at a quarter past the hour. I saw four people lying on the ground, one with his forehead cut open from here to here, probably with a stool taken from the bar over there. The Italians were very organised, with helmet, bats, even balaclavas. There were less people in the English group, the others were in a big group.
The Europa League match between the two clubs is being held tonight in the Italian capital, with Spurs fans flooding in last night ahead of the game. Lazio fans are notorious for hooliganism and for being politically associated with the far-right.
