How to do 'The Great Central Road'
The Great Central road runs from Uluru (Ayers rock) NT to Laverton WA. It is a long dirt road with sandy and really rough rocky surfaces that are designed for 4wd or soft roaders its hard to approach in a 2wd, in this video we show you how.
You will need to have knowledge of your vehicle.
Plenty of water and additional fuel.

Australian Outback Adventure Motorcycle Ride - Uluru to Warakurna via The Great Central Road
The video covers the section from Uluru NT to Warakurna WA that was done as part of a ride from Sydney to Perth. The section of the Great Central Road on the Northern Territory side was corrugated and sandy as it is not maintained as often as the Western Australian side.
There was an almost instant improvement in the road once we reached Docker River and crossed the Western Australian border. This was the roughest section of the whole ride and to give you an indication my GroPro mount snapped in half on this section. I was riding a KTM 1290 Super Adventure and my friend was riding a Suzuki V-Strom 1000XT.

Red Centre Roaming - Along the Great Central Road - July 2018 episode one
Australia is a huge country.
So many diverse climates, landscapes and stories yet to hear or yet to be told. We would like to be part of that story telling.
It has been on our bucket list for a very long time to visit the Red Centre, the iconic Olga's, the impressive Kings Canyon and the majestic Uluru.
This 15 days trek includes a fair few kilometers along the Great Central Road (apparently its a 2700km 'short cut' that links the Queensland coast and the Western Australian coast), where we pass through isolated Aboriginal communities and some breathtaking scenery, including parts of the Finke River and Gary Junction road.
We've joined a happy bunch of like minded Wanderers as we explore what we can in our limited time through Western Australia and the Western parts of central Northern Territory.
Driving to the heart of Australia has been a simple exercise. We pack the 4WD and hired camper and head north-east from Perth, through Kalgoorlie, Laverton, Warburton, Warakurna, Docker River and finishing at Yulara. Camping along the way, warming ourselves by bush fires, cooking in camp ovens, navigating the gravel road (with the use of a HEMA) and seeing the country change as we pass.
In this episode, we head out from El Caballo nice and early and make our leisurely was east though Merredin for morning tea, Yellowdine fro lunch, stopping in Kalgoorlie for coffee and last minute shopping. Camp 1 is at a place called Goonagabbie.
Stay tuned for more episodes as we head our way East on the school holidays 2018.

Partially my fault, partially the kangaroos fault, the kangaroo and I were left unharmed - it was my Kawasaki Ninja ZX6R that took most of the damage. R.I.P
