The great love of God - All Saint's Church, Weston-super-Mare (Compton Organ)
Another of me playing the Compton organ at All Saint's Church in Weston-super-Mare, Somerset.
I am playing the hymn 'The great love of God' which is an ideal hymn for demonstrating the various different tone colours on this instrument.
Many thanks to the church officials for allowing me access to this wonderful Compton organ.

The Lord Jehovah reigns - All Saint's Church, Weston-super-Mare (Compton Organ)
Me playing the organ at All Saint's Church, Weston-super-Mare.
The present organ dates back to 1924 when Griffen and Stroud of Bath built the third organ to be installed in this handsome Victorian Church. Originally two manuals, this was rebuilt in 1935 by the John Compton Ltd as a three manual instrument retaining much of the original pipework. Costing £1664, the bill was not paid in full until 1938, and largely due to a single benefactor – Miss Audrey Lloyd. The console was originally placed on the south side of the chancel screen, then into the Lady Chapel – now occupied by a Chamber organ of unknown provenance but of about 1800 vintage, and in 1955 finally came to rest in its current position in the south. This extension instrument employs Compton’s patent luminous stop knobs (these light up when the stop is pressed into action). Although totally enclosed, the pipes are capable of producing the grandest sounds needed in a large church. The main chamber, behind the façade in the north aisle contains the Swell, most of the Pedal and Great Organs. The Choir Organ and Solo are located on the north side of the chancel. The specification reads:

We have a King who rides a donkey - Victoria Methodist Church, Weston-super-Mare (Compton organ)
My final video of me playing the Compton organ installed at Victoria Methodist Church, Weston-super-Mare.
I am only an amateur and by no means a pro so wanted to point this out and hope you are still able to get the jist of the amazing skills of the John Compton Organ Company Ltd.
Comptons were famous for their cinema organs and a rank of pipes built by the firm stood an equal chance of being employed in a church or cinema organ. It is perhaps no surprise as to why this instrument has such a wonderful cinema organ sound. To demonstrate this im playing the hymn 'We have a King who rides a donkey' which is also the tune to the well known song 'What shall we do with the drunken sailor'.
Many thanks to organist Malcolm Smitham for allowing me access to this wonderful Compton organ.
NOTE: this is purely my interest in order to make sure that these fine organs are archived forever and I do not make any monetary profit by this video being on youtube.

UK: TV PRESENTER JILL DANDO FUNERAL (2)
Natural Sound
Hundreds of people have attended the funeral of British T-V presenter Jill Dando, who was murdered last month.
The congregation were told that her violent death had snuffed out the loving, beautiful light of the girl next door.
Thousands more people lined the streets opposite the church in Weston-super-Mare, southwest England.
Hours before the funeral began, people started to line the streets of Weston-super-Mare to pay tribute to murdered British T-V presenter Jill Dando.
Popstar Cliff Richard, who was a friend of Jill's, was one of the first mourners to arrive at the funeral, which was attended by many well known British broadcasters.
Jill's fiance, consultant gynaecologist Alan Farthing, said the funeral guests had been picked from a list Jill had drawn up of people she wanted to invite to her wedding in September.
Jill's father, 81-year-old Jack Dando, arrived at the church supported by her brother Nigel.
The private funeral service was conducted by local ministers.
The family requested that mourners, instead of buying flowers, should send donations to local charities.
As mourners paid their last respects to the CrimeWatch presenter, the unresolved question of why she was murdered remained a poignant feature of the service.
Afterwards as the funeral cortege weaved its way through the streets of Weston-super-Mare, thousands of people lined the streets to pay their last respects.
