Jasper National Park
Towering mountain ranges, icy blue lakes, dense forests, wolves and other wildlife. This video from Jasper National Park shows you highlights of this spectacular part of Canada. Follow a pack of wolves as they interact with each other and travel across the landscape. See impressive elk and bighorn sheep at home in their habitat. Listen to the sound of Canada geese flying overhead. Watch mountain bikers navigating a trail and people riding on horseback all set against a backdrop of the awe-inspiring Rocky Mountains. This video will show you why Jasper is one of Canada's natural treasures.
Only a few hours drive from Edmonton, Jasper National Park runs along the spine of the Canadian Rockies. Jasper is the largest and most northerly Canadian rocky mountain national park and is part of a spectacular UNESCO World Heritage Site. Comprised of delicate and carefully protected ecosystems, Jasper's scenery is also rugged and mountainous. In this special corner of Canada you can thrill to the thunder of Athabasca Falls, enjoy the serene beauty of Mount Edith Cavell, connect with nature along more than 1,000 kilometres of trails, tour the world-renowned Icefields Parkway and experience the Athabasca Glacier up close, or just resign yourself to a relaxing soak in Miette Hotsprings to recover from the endless activities and experiences you'll discover in Jasper National Park.

Exploring Jasper National Park
Jasper National Park was an amazing experience. Sadly, with only one day we did very little. I highly suggest renting a car if you really want to explore the park. You are pretty limited if your only means of transport is by public shuttle or by foot. Did we have a great day? Of course! If you have any questions or comments please leave them below. Let's travel talk! Sandra.

Jasper National Park, Alberta Canada. Wildlife Adventure. Jasper Tour Company
We are a small company focused on giving a personalized experience to every individual that comes to Jasper National Park! As a former head guide for SunDog Tours and Jasper Adventure Center and a videographer for Overlander Trekking/Maligne Adventures our head guide Joe Urie has given people from all over the world the best of experiences when visiting Jasper National Park. His tours come highly recommended on TripAdvisor! All year round, wildlife can be found and Joe is the best in the business when it comes to finding them. In the summer, the Maligne Valley is his favourite haunt and although other tour companies go there, none deliver it to you like Joe does! During the winter our main adventure is to take you down into the depths of the Maligne Canyon, a narrow limestone gorge at the head of the Maligne Valley in Jasper National Park. It is an excellent way to spend a few hours on a visit to the Canadian Rockies.
Seating is limited on all of our trips so book now and enjoy Jasper with the best guide in the Canadian Rockies!

Banff and Jasper National Park Wildlife photos, lots of bears
Collection of photos of amazing wildlife found from 2015 from hiking, backpacking in Jasper and Banff national parks in Canadian Rockies. 3 cameras, the clearest is my new one Nikon d7100 amazing camera,.the grainy one is canon 420, which photos are all grainy from a long trip due to camera getting water logged, and finally iPhone 6 for quick shots where didn't want to get caught with animals when surprised I was so close. Yes I did run into that many many bears:)
Hope you enjoy, can't wait for next season to begin in another month!

Yoho National Park
Banff National Park can be found in Alberta, Canada. There are beautiful mountains and beautiful sky blue lakes that can be found throughout this park and Jasper and Yoho. Lake Louise is one of the spots in Banff that you should not miss for this reason!
Another blue lake is Emerald Lake located in the Yoho national park. One of the amazing things about visiting these three parks is the opportunity to see some Canadian wild bears! The wildlife in these Canadian national parks are everywhere and a pleasure to see. I was able to spot some elk, deer, bear, beavers, and more!
If you find yourself in Canada, then you absolutely must check out these national parks. Definitely make a stop at the Athabasca Glacier in the Columbia Icefield. Take a tour on the glacier, walk on the glacier, drink glacier water, and do the glacier skywalk!

Picture yourself in a mountain getaway surrounded by towering peaks, untouched wilderness and turquoise lakes tucked into alpine valleys. Jasper National Park is the stuff that postcards are made of.
Part of a collective UNESCO World Heritage Site, it is also the second largest dark sky preserve in the world – and the only one with a human population in the centre of it. The town of Jasper is an authentic mountain community where the locals welcome you as a long lost friend. You will find all the comforts you could wish for, from luxury accommodation to charming cabins and fully serviced campsites, to eclectic shopping and dining options. Wildlife is abundant, even right in town. Where else will you find a herd of elk napping on the lawn?
In summer, ride or hike the Easy Trails system – six different ways to see the best of the Athabasca river valley. Swing the day away in a fairy-tale mountain setting at the award winning Jasper Park Lodge Golf Course. In winter, ski Marmot Basin, 30 minutes from town.
This is the largest of our Rocky Mountain national parks, located 370 km (192 mi) west of Edmonton and 404 km (256 mi) from Calgary. Jasper and Banff are connected by the Icefields Parkway (Hwy 93), with more than a hundred glaciers visible from the road. Use it to access the Columbia Icefields Glacier Adventure and the stunning Glacier Skywalk.
Icefields. Glaciers. Famous Islands. Dark Skies. Here’s your insider Jasper National Park checklist!
Jasper SkyTram
Take the longest and highest guided aerial tramway in Canada and get ready for an astonishing view of six mountain ranges, with the Athabasca River and the town of Jasper nestled at your feet.
Columbia Icefield Glacier Experience
An hour and a half south of Jasper, explore the Athabasca Glacier, part of the colossal Columbia Icefield. At the Glacier Discovery Centre, board a massive Ice Explorer bus with giant rubber wheels and ride right up onto the glacier.
Glacier Skywalk
A five minute bus ride from the Glacier Discovery Centre is one truly remarkable viewing opportunity. Glacier Skywalk is a feat of engineering cantilevered out over the Sunwapta Valley. The fully accessible cliff-edge walkway leads to a glass floored observation platform 280 m (918 ft) above the valley floor.
Maligne Canyon
Ten minutes northeast of Jasper, Maligne Canyon is one of the most spectacular gorges in the Rockies, plunging to depths of over 50 m (165 ft). Come back in winter and do the famed ice walk.
Marmot Basin
Celebrating its 50th birthday in 2014, Marmot Basin is home to some of the most breathtaking and unspoiled views anywhere in the Canadian Rockies. Ski Canada’s highest base elevation at 1,697 m (5,568 ft) on terrain suitable for novices to experts.
Miette Hot Springs
Inside the park in the wild Fiddle Valley about an hour northeast of Jasper is Miette Hot Springs. These are the hottest mineral springs in the Rockies, cooled to a comfortable temperature of 40°C (104°F) as they enter the hot springs pool. After a good soak, take the short walk to the source of the springs.
Maligne Lake
Just 44 km (27 mi) south of Jasper, take a boat tour on Maligne Lake to Spirit Island and see why it’s one of the most photographed spots on the planet. The lake is accessible by motor vehicle, including shuttle buses from Jasper.
