Península Valdés Wildlife Tour in Patagonia | Chubut, Argentina
Join us for a visual cinematic tour around Peninsula Valdes as we focus on spotting wildlife such as penguins, huanacos, elephant seals and sea lions to name just a few. Peninsula Valdes is rugged, beautiful and sparsely populated. It is the perfect destination for travelers seeking to experience wildlife sightings, hiking, Estancia meals and whale watching during the right time of year.
Peninsula Valdes is an important nature reserve and World Heritage Site. If you are thinking of visiting and want to spend an extra night or two Puerto Pirámides is where you'll find accommodations, restaurants and beaches.
We'd highly recommend visiting Peninsula Valdes as it was one of our favorite destinations during our trip to Argentina.

Peninsula Valdes & Whale Watching | Puerto Madryn | Argentina4u

Spotting SEA LIONS in Peninsula Valdes on a Boat Tour | Chubut, Argentina
For our last day on the Valdes Peninsula, we joined an excursion to visit Caleta Valdes and Punta Delgada, two destinations which are said to be great for wildlife spotting! First up, we kicked off the day with a boat tour to the loberia, which is a rocky outcrop where you can see sea lions.
Because we visited in February, there were lots of newborn pups playing and clumsily climbing around the larger sea lions; it was so fun to just sit back and watch them be. We also saw the alpha male strutting on his flippers, body arched upwards, observing his harem and eventually approaching a female. It was quite the scene and camera shutters were going off like crazy!
From there, we continued to Caleta Valdes, which is often referred to as a 'geographic accident'; it’s basically a long and narrow body of water that’s been naturally closed off by a strip of land, with only a small opening connecting it to the sea. We got to see Magellanic penguins here, who had built their nests on a rather steep hill!
We then continued to Punta Delgada Lightouse, a former post office and military building turned sheep farm, countryside hotel and restaurant. We had some empanadas and lamb stew for lunch (all very tasty!), before continuing on to a beach location where we watched as elephant seals made their way back to sea.
This was our final tour with Argentina Vision ( and then it was back to Puerto Madryn!

Spotting SEA LIONS in Peninsula Valdes on a Boat Tour | Chubut, Argentina:
Hey guys! We are Samuel and Audrey, a travel vlogging couple from Canada. In this travel channel we share our travel and food vlogs while touring the world.
We had the privilege of traveling around Argentina for nearly 3 months from January- April 2019 on a trip covering a large section of the country.
We kicked things off with several days in Buenos Aires where we were joined by Audrey's parents eating and sightseeing around some of our favourite neighbourhoods in the city. We then flew from Buenos Aires to Cordoba where we spent a couple of weeks in the Sierras of Cordoba.
From Cordoba, we then travelled a considerable distance on an overnight bus to Mar Del Plata just in time for a special food festival called Feria Masticar featuring the best of Argentine food and wine. We spent several days enjoying beaches and seafood before heading south to Patagonia to visit the province of Chubut.
While on the Atlantic side of Chubut we visited Puerto Madryn, Peninsula Valdes, Trelew, Gaiman and Dolavon. To summarize our time in this area, we had incredibly close encounters with wildlife including penguins, sea lions and guanacos while also experiencing Welsh culture in Argentina.
Our time in Patagonia continued as we headed from east to west trading more barren landscapes for thick forests, impressive mountains and magnificent lakes. We spent significant time in both Esquel and El Bolson with day trips to visit Trevelin, Parque Nacional Los Alerces, Cholila and Lago Puelo. Highlights included sailing, hiking, riding vintage trains and partaking in the national asado festival.
We finished visiting Patagonia with time spent in Villa La Angostura, San Martin De Los Andes and Bariloche where we enjoyed more stunning scenery and hiking. On our way back to Buenos Aires, we took the Tren Patagonia to Las Grutas before meeting up with Audrey's dad again.
To finish off our trip in Argentina, we spent more time in the capital and later Mendoza where we got to experience wine tourism to its fullest extent. Overall, we had an amazing time travelling around Argentina having only scratched the surface of this vast and diverse country.
Overall our Argentina travel series explores cities, small towns that are off-the-beaten-path, and scenic attractions with a strong emphasis on Argentina cuisine and local culture.

Península Valdés, Puerto Madryn, Chubut, Argentina
The Valdes Peninsula is on the Atlantic Ocean in the Biedma Department of north-east Chubut Province, Argentina, is an important nature reserve which was listed as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1999.
The coastline is inhabited by marine mammals, like sea lions, elephant seals and fur seals. Southern right whales can be found in Golfo Nuevo and Golfo San José, protected bodies of water located between the peninsula and the Patagonian mainland. The inner part of the peninsula is inhabited by rheas, guanacos and maras. A high diversity and range of birds live in the peninsula as well
From Puerto Pirámides heading for Punta Norte you can see a large population of sea lions and sea elephants, and at high tide it is possible to see orcas. Heading south along the coast to Caleta Valdés. There from viewpoints located on the cliff you can see the heavy sea elephants. In addition, two km to the north is a small colony of Magellan penguins. Returning back to Puerto Pirámides and to the seal colony at Punta Pirámides, where there are sea lions of a hair that breed and have their babies there from December to March.

BEACH TOWN IN PATAGONIA | Visiting Puerto Piramides on Valdes Peninsula | Chubut, Argentina
In today's travel video, we explore the Patagonian beach town of Puerto Piramides, which is the only town located within the Valdes Peninsula. The town has a population of just over 700, though for a few months of the year, the whale population far exceeds the number of inhabitants on land! We had one full day to explore Puerto Piramides, so we spent it: watching the sunrise up on the cliffs, hiking out to the lobería where we saw sea lions, eating a delicious seafood pasta at La Covacha, strolling down the colourful Avenue of the Whales, and enjoying our stay at the Oceano Patagonia eco-hotel. We hope you enjoy this little taste of a beach town in Patagonia and we'll see you tomorrow with more adventures around the peninsula!

There there are the colonies of sea lions, elephant seals and hundreds of thousands of penguins. The place is bananas.
In this episode of A Life That Travels, Rob Malicki takes you for a look around this incredibly remote, rugged, beautiful wind-swept corner of Argentina.
It's a place that belongs on your bucket list!
