MOUNTAIN BIKING FUN in Fernie BC Canada
Jen and I take the GoPro on our second real mountain bike ride of the season and capture the beautiful, flow fun of some classic Fernie, BC trails. We zip through a fun and challenging loop of approximately 12km, which combines some fairly demanding uphill effort but rewards you with some awesome downhill flow. A great combination of intermediate and advanced trails. Along the way we learn why they call a trail “Dem Bones” and take our first ride ever down Red Sonja. You just can’t beat riding over an old car at the end of any mountain bike trail. If you love mountain biking or hiking, Fernie, BC, Canada has what you’re looking for!
The trail maps are screen grabs from the Trailforks app. An awesome trail finding app available on the App Store and Google Play store.
For the mountain bike folks:
Jen rides a 2017 Liv Giant Pique Advanced SX. She loves that bike!
I ride a 2015 Rocky Mountain Thunderbolt 790 MSL BC Edition. I love my bike too!
Both bikes are 27.5” wheels.
The majority of the footage was captured with the GoPro Hero 5 black using a Freevision VILTA-G gimbal ( An small Anker battery ( in my hydration pack kept the gimbal running all day long and then some.
The trails we ride, in order, are:
Phat Bastard - Advanced (ascent) 2.2km
Mushroom Head - Intermediate (ascent/descent) 1.6km
Dem Bones - Intermediate (descent) 2.2km
Stove Trail - Intermediate (ascent) 2.2km
Mushroom Head - Intermediate (ascent) 1.6km
Red Sonja - Advanced (descent) 1.3km

Fernie BC
A great Canadian ski resort for the whole family and for every ability. For American visitors, it is a bargain at current (2018) exchange rates. The town of Fernie BC is a quaint town with excellent restaurants. Outside of planned events, it is somewhat sleepy, but the food is top shelf. Visit Nevados Tapas & Tequila to awaken your palate. For fresh and high quality pub food visit The Brickhouse Bar and Grill. On the mountain, Legends Restaurant is the best choice to a varied menus that has friendly service and outstanding food. The town of Fernie is about a 15 minute drive from the resort.
The skiing is excellent at Fernie. There are several choices for ski in/ski out condos, but The Cornerstone Lodge is the most central lodging of all the lifts and bars. The 2018 season delivered plenty of snow. The base was 11 ft ( 136 cm) by the third week of March 2018. There is plenty of challenging terrain as well as many groomed runs for the beginner and intermediate skier or boarder.

Avalanche in Fernie BC & Snow Conditions - TMTV
TMTV News Nelson BC Canada - 11 Snowmobilers swept away in several avalanches in the East Kootenay area of south eastern British Columbia Canada. 7 bodies were recovered, the search continues for one who has not been found.
Roberts expressed confidence that 28-year-old Danny Bjarnason, his son-in-law and the only one of eight men who had yet to be found, would be located soon - and even held out hope he might be found alive.
Seven bodies were recovered Monday from the treacherous backcountry area where the avalanches occurred: Kurt Kabel, 28; Warren Rothel, 33; Kane Rusnak, 30; Thomas Talarico, 32; Blayne Wilson, 26; Michael Stier, 20; and Michael's father, Leonard Stier, 45.
Three other men - Jeff Adams, Jordan Drake and Jeremy Rusnak - survived. They managed to dig themselves out but left the area when they determined another avalanche might hit.
The search for Bjarnason was expected to resume Tuesday, after an assessment of the risk of further slides.
All 11 men were from Sparwood, a coal-mining town 300 kilometres southwest of Calgary. The community of 4,000, just north of Fernie, held a candlelight service Monday night for the victims.
SOLD! 1 Driftwood Place, Elkford, BC - PropertyGuys.com - Savings of over $18,400 No Commission
SOLD avoiding paying agents commission of over $18,400. Here's what the client had to say:
Thank you for your help. We greatly appreciated your guidance. We were nervous about listing and selling privately, but meeting with you alleviated those fears.
We knew that our profit margin was going to be tight and we really couldn't see paying a realtor tens of thousands of dollars for taking pictures and posting on the Internet. We felt that the services that Property Guys offered were comprehensive and very affordable ( the video was awesome and commented on by many).
We always wanted to be the ones showing our home because of all the work and special features that we put into it. We felt that a realtor would not be able to show perspective buyers all this house had to offer. To be honest we spend 1 to 1 1/2 hours with each person, showing them through the house.
Thank you for all your help and services. I have given rave reviews to many and recommended Property Guys to many.

Head Skis 2020 Kore 93W and Kore 99W Review with Powder7
Hey it’s Lauren here at Powder7 a couple of women’s skis from Head that are new for 2020: the Kore 93W and 99W. The men’s Kores were introduced a couple years ago, and they quickly became some of the most popular skis in the industry.
Shop Head skis:
There’s a lot to love about Head’s decision to add women’s versions of the Kore. Obviously, they will be offered in shorter, women’s friendly lengths. The recommended mount point will also move forward slightly to jive with womens’ ski styles. But the best thing? Those are the only changes. The womens’ Kores are built just like the badass men’s versions. As it should be.
So for the Kore 93W and 99W, that means these skis are lightweight but stiff. A feathery Karuba wood core helps the skis achieve maximum maneuverability. The weight savings also makes the Kores lighter, and tip and tail rocker makes them turny and playful in soft snow.
Meanwhile, the backbone and power come from Graphene, a constant in recent Head constructions. Graphene is a semi metal and one of the strongest materials available. It gives the Kores the ability to ski like a charger without being bulky and heavy.
For the past couple years, skiers have loved the Kore’s versatility. And now badass women skiers get their own versions to play with. Check them out at Powder7.com or swing by our shop in Golden, CO.

HOW RESORTS WAX & TUNE YOUR SKIS - Super Slow-mo grinding & waxing
Wondering how to ski wax? Why to wax skis? How to tune your skis? This video shows us what happens when you get your skis waxed and tuned at the shop. They have lots of equipment that help tune and wax your skis professionally.
To start, they grind the base and edges of the skis to reduce any big scratches and to prep them for tuning and wax.
Next, then put the skis in the automatic ski edger, which gives them a professional, and fine edge.
After that, they put the skis through another bigger sander, to scratch the bottom to the core, so the wax can really sink in.
Then, they apply the hot wax, in this case, 2 waxes due to the elevation and temperature change on the mountain. Finally, they brush off all the excess wax, and polish the bottom so it is nice and smooth.

Banff and Lake Louise Vlog
Visiting Banff and Lake Louise in Canada has been on my bucket list for SO long!! And honestly, it did not disappoint ????
Joel planned the ENTIRE trip in less than a month! And it was extra special that we got to go the week after we got engaged! Despite being SUPER sick - pretty sure I had a fever with a temperature of 103F the first night ???? I found cold medicine that worked and was able to still have fun!
I loved the Lake Louise ski resort! It was so huge and so surreal to be skiing around all these vast mountains. And being able to see the Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise in person was so unreal. I swear it’s WAY prettier in person!
