Brewing Beer - the birth of Procrastination

The Stirling University Craft Beer Society was founded in 2010 and is very proud to be able to bring you the story of Stirlings' first student beer - Procrastination.

It all started in the fall of 2010 when, fed up with what was on offer at the students union at the time, a small band of students decided to make their own beer. A small test-batch was brewed in the spring of 2011 but due to the economic realities of the student union a deal could not be struck. Undeterred the students brewed another batch with a new and inproved recipie and on wednesday the 21'st of March the first hand-pulled pint of beer in many a year was had at the union. That pint was full of the hoppy aroma of that favorite student activity - Procrastination.

A great thanks goes out to mr Douglas Ross of the Allanwater Brewhouse who kindly let us use his facilities and helped out with his personal expertise.


Procrastination is a 5% India Pale Ale brewed with Pilgrim and Cascade hops by Phil Neil and David Lewin at the Allanwater Brewhouse in Bridge of Allan with funds going to the military charity Beer for the Boys.
