Time Lapse of Everglades Camping
More of these time lapses at or on
I originally posted this on flickr ( ) , but I'm afraid Yahoo is going to sink that ship, so moving it here. This is 1,572 photos shot over seven hours on an island 68 miles South of Everglades City in Florida with a 5D mk2 and a cheap knock-off time lapse controller that works great. The beach is called Middle Cape Sable, and is arguably the southernmost point of the continental US. Camped there with six of my awesome family members. The music, suggested by cousin Kristen, is Clelia Iruzun: Ernesto Lecuona- Always in my Heart.

The port serves as the primary storage and distribution seaport for refined petroleum products. Port Everglades distributes fuel to 12 Florida counties. Port Everglades is also recognized as a favorite United States Navy liberty port. With a depth of 43 feet (13 m) (at mean low water), Port Everglades is currently the deepest port in the United States (Atlantic Ocean) south of Norfolk, Virginia.[3]

The total value of economic activity at Port Everglades is approximately $30 billion annually. Approximately 230,000 Florida jobs are impacted by the Port, including more than 13,000 people who work for companies that provide direct services to Port Everglades. Miami driving trip - Florida vacation
Miami is a seaport city at the southeastern corner of the U.S. state of Florida and its Atlantic coast. As the seat of Miami-Dade County, the municipality is the principal, central, and most populous of its metropolitan area and part of the second-most populous metropolis in the southeastern United States. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, Miami's metro area is the eighth-most populous and fourth-largest urban area in the U.S., with a population of around 5.5 million
Miami and its suburbs are located on a broad plain between the Florida Everglades to the west and Biscayne Bay to the east, which also extends from Florida Bay north to Lake Okeechobee. The elevation of the area never rises above 40 ft (12 m) and averages at around 6 ft (1.8 m) above mean sea level in most neighborhoods, especially near the coast. The highest undulations are found along the coastal Miami Rock Ridge, whose substrate underlies most of the eastern Miami metropolitan region. The main portion of the city lies on the shores of Biscayne Bay which contains several hundred natural and artificially created barrier islands, the largest of which contains Miami Beachand South Beach. The Gulf Stream, a warm ocean current, runs northward just 15 miles (24 km) off the coast, allowing the city's climate to stay warm and mild all year.

Drive A1A In Fort Lauderdale - Sit Back Sunday GoPro Cruise
Cruising in our Dodge Challenger R/T along A1A in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. This clip takes us from the new runway underpass of the Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood International Airport (where US1 merges with A1A).
From there, we pass by the 17th Street Bridge which spans the Intracoastal Waterway, right beside Port Everglades - the cruise port for many cruise ships. Beyond that, we'll pass by the main 'strip' of Fort Lauderdale Beach. This is where many ocean front hotels and restaurants are located.

MS Harmony of the Seas is an Oasis-class cruise ship constructed by STX France at the Chantiers de l'Atlantique shipyard in Saint-Nazaire, France[11] for Royal Caribbean International. With a gross tonnage of 227,700 GT, she is the largest passenger ship in the world, surpassing her older sisters MS Oasis of the Seas and MS Allure of the Seas by some 2,000 gross tons, as well as 2.15 metres (7.1 ft) in length.[12]
Building Harmony of the Seas
The success of the first two Oasis-class ships led Royal Caribbean Cruises to order a third ship of the type in December 2012.[1] Harmony of the Seas was floated out on 19 June 2015, began her first sea trials on 10 March 2016,[13] and was delivered to Royal Caribbean on 12 May 2016.[4][14] After a build time of 32 months, the ship first set sail on 15 May 2016 from the STX France docks in Saint-Nazaire, viewed by some 70,000 people.[15] Her initial destination was Southampton, England, although the home port will be Barcelona, Spain.[16]
Routing[edit]
For the inaugural season to commence 7 June 2016,[17] Harmony of the Seas will offer seven-night western Mediterranean cruises originating from Barcelona and Rome (Civitavecchia). At the end of the summer and autumn season (in late October 2016), the ship will cross the Atlantic to the United States, where she will offer seven-night eastern and western Caribbean cruises originating from Port Everglades, Florida and Port Canaveral[18] starting in November.
Accommodations[edit]
Harmony of the Seas has 2,747 staterooms, with a wide variety of types, to accommodate (at double occupancy) 5,479 guests[19] ranging from small interior rooms through larger rooms to suites, some of which are fitted with wall-mounted 80-inch screens, covering nearly the floor to ceiling,[20] that show the ship's environment as if through a window, named 'virtual balconies'. These screens were first fitted on the Quantum class of cruise ships.[21] A full 43 categories of stateroom types are offered, starting at a size of 180 square feet; several types of suites are available, including the new Royal Class.[22]
Quantum of the Seas: Inaugural Bayonne Arrival on December 1, 2014
The Quantum of the Seas inaugural sailing came to an end on December 1, 2014 as she made her way back to the Cape Liberty Cruise Port in Bayonne New Jersey. She silently slipped under the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge at 5:50AM. It was then a short ride up the river before making the left hand turn into port as the sun started to rise to the East.
