Carl Tanzler
Carl Tanzler was a German-born radiologist at the United States Marine Hospital in Key West, Florida who developed a morbid obsession for a young tuberculosis patient, Elena Milagro Helen de Hoyos that carried on well after Hoyos died from the disease. In 1933, almost two years after her death, Tanzler removed Hoyos' body from its tomb, and lived with the corpse at his home for seven years until its discovery by Hoyos' relatives and authorities in 1940
A Wedding Video from Cowling, North Yorkshire
Driving rain and gale force winds did nothing to dampen the wedding party who turned out to the wedding of Annette and Ben at Holy Trinity Church, the day before Christmas Eve.

River Crimple Harrogate 21 Jan 08 (3)
More water. This is the point where the river rose over the wall in June, and some of it ran down the road, across my garden, and back into the river again (partly via my house, though we did get slow water coming in).
Some locals have tried to prevent this happening again by piling up sandbags, but in the case of flood a higher wall would only raise the river level, causing FAST water to flood into my house and those houses next to me. You can't win with rivers by treating symptoms downstream of causes.
NB: On this day, the river only rose to two feet below flood level. But when it did rise two feet higher last June (2007), the rise was greater at this point. The river gains speed with increased depth, and as it turns this corner it rises higher where you see the sandbags. Last June it washed the sandbags off easily, and water was pushed a good foot above the wall as it slewed over into the road. I hope you're reading this, Environment Agency guys, as you need to correct problems upstream to prevent this happening again. The sandbags are silly.

Stockport Edward Street Windmill Excavation
In 1784, a windmill was built to power the Edward Street Mill in Stockport. Wind power was superseded at the mill in 1795 when a steam engine was installed. The mill had closed by 1842. Local groups used the windmill as a meeting place, including the Independent Methodists (1817-1820) and from 1818 by the radical ‘Stockport Union for the Promotion of Human Happiness’. The windmill was demolished in 1857. In 1922 the foundations were discovered during the construction of Hollingdrake’s showrooms, which stood on the site until late 2015.
The site, which has remained preserved until re-discovered in mid-January 2016, is soon to be cleared to make way for a new build. Archaeologists have performed a rapid documentation of what has been unearthed, and Information panels illustrating the history of the site will be on display in the new building.
Thanks to Paul Hartley of Stockport Council for arranging access to the site.

and born is of a maid so bright; Goday!
Heaven and earth and also hell,
and all that ever in them dwell,
of your coming they beth full snell; Goday!
Of your coming this clerkës find:

and of their bales them unbind; Goday!
All manner of mirthës we will make
