Almonte Mews - Almonte, Ontario, Canada
Almonte is a scenic mill town on the Canadian Mississippi River, about 40 minutes southwest of downtown Ottawa with a population of about 5,000. This quaint town is steeped in history and a walk down the main street feels like a step back in time.
The 19th century limestone mill buildings in the town have been re-purposed over the years as galleries, condos, restaurants and office space, while the main street offers boutiques, craft shops, galleries and antiques for tourists of all agesThere are also several first-class restaurants and a variety of inns and B&Bs, most located in historic structures along the river. Almonte is also home to some fascinating museums and hosts some excellent summer festivals. - parkviewhomes.info

SYNOPSIS
This is a preview of Part Two of our three hour documentary film series on the history of Almonte. Almonte: Transitions picks up in 1960 where Part One, Almonte's Interwoven Past leaves off.
The film documents Almonte's transition from the blue collar mill town that it still was in 1960 to the dynamic and exciting arts centre, tourist destination and all round great place to live that it is today.
The story is told by over 35 interviewees, all of whom witnessed and/or played a direct role in the events and activities covered in the film.
Almonte: Transitions features many pictures of the town during the time frame, some fabulous vintage film footage, and of course some spectacular high definition footage of the town today including almost all of the festivals and events that have taken place since December of 2012.

Almonte, Mississippi River - Ontario
Almonte is a community of about 5,000 people, situated 50 kilometers from Ottawa. Almonte straddles the banks of Canada's Mississippi River, which flows into the Ottawa River. The Mississippi River passes through Almonte in a series of waterfalls and rapids which attracted millers to the area in the early 19th century.

Vlog #002 - Trip to Almonte, Mississipi Mills, Ontario, Canada
Open for more Info:
Hey guys, Welcome to FloraVlogs!
This Vlog is about my trip to Almonte, Ontario. It is one of the most beautiful little towns I have ever visited on the outskirts of Ottawa!
I spent the first part of my morning having breakfast at the Mill Street Crepe Company, Almonte, Ontario, Canada followed by a hike along the Mississippi River, Mississipi Mills where I visited the Mill of Kintail Museum, Almonte, Ontario, Canada.
After that, I shopped around Mill Street, Almonte, Mississipi Mills, Ontario,Canada where I visited some of the antique shops and shops selling locally made goods.
Overall, if you ever have a chance to visit the Ottawa area, I highly recommend checking out Almonte, Mississipi Mills over the weekend or whenever you get a chance! You won’t regret it ????
Hope you enjoy!

Almonte haunted house
A quick tour of a house in Almonte during its depression. A crashing economy and towns tourist type image is driving industry out of the area. When Almonte was a boom town with rail road, mills and factories it was considered I excellent place to start a life and raise a family. Now the town has taken a unexpected turn and is geared to only look pretty to outsider tourists. It's I different story from the inside.
