Whistler's first Regatta Aug 13th and 14th 2011 Alta Lake Whistler BC Canada
Whistlers first Regatta was a success all-round from 20+ knot winds to a light and sunny breezes that can change in minutes many smiles to be had by all. The only down side was my camera environmental housing it was designed for under water and I was using above water so it over heated and kept going out of focus so out of 4 hours of footage I got less than 1 hour and a lot of that is blurry. SORRY blame Sony !!!
This is my first time filming a group of competitors usually I am filming the boys only as part of my sports history documentation kinda like a sports reality show with all the trials and tribulations on the road to becoming an elite athlete. So I tried to balance the coverage but on editing much footage was unusable ??
The Bennets Boys had a blast and was a great learning experience for them at one point Neo was almost at the mark and went into Irons and blew his cool but the next day he was on his game again. Zen my 2 year old spent the first day in the bow of the Zodiac he even fell asleep he loves the water. There was one rescue mission as a Kayaker had troubles and was tazered in a nice way I picked up the person and gave him a ride back to his rental place.
I hope you enjoy this
Salute

Whistler Travel Guide - Exploring Magical Canada
Whistler Travel Guide - Exploring Magical Canada
Whistler is in the province of British Columbia in Canada. Boasting the largest ski area in North America, Whistler is a popular winter snow-skiing and outdoor sports destination near Vancouver. The official name for the municipality is the Resort Municipality of Whistler. Before the skiers and boarders came, Whistler was a logging town with the name Alta Lake, which was well-known for its snow.
After Squaw Valley hosted the 1960 Winter Olympics, a group of Canadian investors hatched a plan to build a ski resort on London Mountain in the Alta Lake area in the hope of attracting the 1968 Winter Olympics. It was soon realized that the name London was terribly inappropriate because to most people, the term London referenced a major Western European urban metropolis with flat terrain and a severe air pollution problem, which was completely incongruent with the preferred image of a pollution-free skier's paradise. London Mountain was eventually renamed Whistler Mountain after the high-pitched whistling or chirping sound made by the hoary marmots native to the area. The Olympic dream wasn't realized immediately, but the first ski resort at Whistler opened in what is now the Creekside area in January 1966.
In December 1980, Intrawest Corporation opened a second resort nearby on Blackcomb Mountain. Earlier that year, the planned community to the east of Alta Lake now known as Whistler Village finally opened. In March 1997, Intrawest Corporation merged with the Whistler Mountain Ski Corporation, and they merged their respective resorts to form the modern Whistler Blackcomb resort. Whistler got its Olympic wish fulfilled in 2010, when it hosted sliding events and certain ski events for the 2010 Winter Olympics. During the Great Recession, Intrawest spun off Whistler Blackcomb into a separate public corporation in 2010, then sold the last of its shares in that entity in 2012.
Not surprisingly for a ski resort, Whistler gets its fair share of snow and cold weather. Typical winter temperatures average about 0°C during the day and -6°C overnight in the Village, but on rare occasions it approaches -40 Below F° /C°. Snow typically on the ground from December into April. Summer days can be quite warm, with temperatures reaching the high 20s C°- 70 F°; but nights tend to be cool. As with the nearby Fraser Valley or Lower Mainland, there is significantly more precipitation from November through April than other times of the year.
The town of Whistler sprawls out around the valley, but the heart of the Whistler experience focuses on the European-style villages built as planned communities around the base of the gondolas. Most of the accommodation, restaurants, bars, shops and the Blackcomb and Whistler gondolas are in Whistler Creekside (Old Alpha Lake), Whistler Village and the Upper Village, at the foot of Whistler and Blackcomb. Village North (Blackcomb Village), built around the old base of Blackcomb, is smaller but still has a number of restaurants and hotels. Whistler Creekside is built around the original gondola on the south side of Whistler Mountain. There is a new southern town site at the former Olympic Village Site called Cheackamus; the location of the Whistler hostel, 20 min from Whistler Village. The small town of Pemberton is only 20 minutes to the north of the Whistler town limits and is a quiet bedroom community for a large number of Whistler workers.

Visiting Rainbow Park, Whistler on January 3, 2014!
On my last day of Christmas and New Years vacation with my Uncle and Aunt I got to visit three lakes in Whistler. My Uncle and I went to Twin Lakes, Alta Lake, and Rainbow Lake. It was a great time that I'll never forget and I'm thankful God gave me some sunshine to enjoy on my last day. :-)
Ice Fishing a Fun Winter Activity in Whistler Canada
Ice Fishing a Fun Winter Activity in Whistler Canada. The past few weeks we have been having some of the best Ice fishing for large fish in Canada, Large Bull Trout weighing between 5 - 10 LBS and with a length between 22 - 30. Bull Trout in the lake that we are fishing reach a staggering 20 LBS and is uncommon to catch under 4 LBS. When you are catching fish like this it makes for great videos and Pictures. As of late we have developed a new Ice fishing jig that only catches large predatory Trout. The Jig imitates large wounded bait fish to perfection. It does not matter where we are fishing in the lake, it seems to attract them from afar. That being said, we have been having best success near the middle of the lake because it seems to draw a larger audience. The concept behind the new jig is simple, represent the bait that the fish are keying in on, present it the way that attracts them, then feed it to them. It doesn't take long for them to come and investigate. Anyone that says there is not a science to ice fishing hasn't Ice Fished with us. We are always looking for that upper hand to provide a memorable experience for our clients. If you are looking for a Fun Activity in Whistler, Canada, Ice fishing is the answer. We put our clients on thousands of fish yearly while providing a safe, fun, educational and rewarding experience. Our Ice fishing trips are great for Families, Friends and corporate outing. Whistler's Lost Lake Mountain Biking - Perfect Terrain for Beginner/ Intermediate Riders
In this video I'm riding the ole mountain bike with my brother and his fiancee. He's a hardcore mountain biker, and she is relatively new to it, and I'm somewhere in the middle. It's difficult to find a trail to keep all of us happy, and so after a little to and fro about what to ride, we head to Lost Lake Park just barely north of Whistler Village. This has a great variety of trails bisecting and connecting to on another.
We head up the green trail Tin Pants to gain a little altitude and head north on the connected blue trails starting at Fountain of Love -Pinocchio's Furniture and finishing next to Fitzsimmons Creek with Jellyroll Gumdrop.
Definitely IMO the best trail and area to keep everyone happy when riding with people of different abilities, some of the features here are optional and there are ride around's to anything on the gnarly side of things.
If you're in Whistler in the summer and not sure where to go biking, check this place out.... and you can always go for a dip in the lake at the end.

Brandywine Falls, Whistler BC: Vlog 16
Hiking trails near me:
Brandywine Falls is a perfect stop for those traveling through the Squamish, Whistler area looking for a short walk to the spectacular falls. The hiking trail starts from the parking lot and crosses a covered wooden bridge.
After crossing the river, head right, just 500m (1640 feet), crossing train tracks along the way, until you reach the platform overlooking the magnificent view of Brandywine fall.
The falls itself drops approximately 70m and the surrounding cavern features rock slides that have crumbled from the walls over hundreds of years.
The trail continues a short distance past the platform for a view of Daisy Lake.
Once at the end of the trail there is a short fence that you will need to cross beyond. Follow the man maid foot trail along the ridge until you reach a rope that helps you down the cliff side.
Once down that, it's a quick hike through the forest (follow the orange markers) and you arrive at the Brandywine falls base !!!

Beach day at Lost Lake in Whistler
Lost Lake is a lake located in Whistler, British Columbia, Canada. The area around it, Lost Lake Park, is part of the municipal park system's cross-country skiing trails and, until hotel development overshadowed views of the park's swimming docks. Facilities include: picnic tables and barbeques, a concession stand, washrooms, a trail system, payphones and even a dog-friendly beach aptly named 'Canine Cove.' There are several docks around the lake that are also great for lazing on.

The Joffre Lakes trail is super pretty but it gets super busy too. Go early and remember to LEAVE NO TRACE!
